Wonder if she wears lipstick or colors her hair?

if you put lipstick on a pig, isn’t it still a pig?

I doubt she will be so smug anymore.

Would love to know how the psychologists, psychiatrists, technicians, etc. restored LV from incompitent to competent. Knowing Lori as we do, we doubt she is pleased with this turn in her diagnosis.

Makes me wonder if, like some have mentioned before, this was all more a preemptive strike to avoid a mistrial down the line. Have her committed and cleared by professionals so there's little to no room for an argument later on in the trial that she's mentally unfit etc.

On Prior’s witness list filing, on his header with his address etc it says..Attorney for Grandmother Aimee White.

What does that mean and is that a common thing for attorneys to do?

I think it’s an unfortunate typo and possibly meant for his legal filings for another client (—-?). I know typos like that happen (even though that is more than a few words and not just one character). The State has had filings before where Blake’s name has been spelled Lindsey and Lindsay depending on the day….so I think things happen. In his defense, the State has numerous people to check their work; Prior is pretty much a one man band. That isn’t meant to excuse not catching the wrong header on paperwork but just some additional context.

I am SO eager to see what Archibald does at her arraignment. From what we know so far neither has flipped on the other. Archibald in some of his previous cases has forced the State to bring a speedy trial, within the 6 months from date of arraignment…..I think we could get into extremely interesting legal territory if he wants to try that. Even if it didn’t work, IF IF IF he tried that (as he’s done in at least two cases before from what I found via records), the State would likely have to spend their time and resources responding to their Motions and to argue how they can still keep the cases together while not violating either one of their constitutional rights.

There’s some really interesting cases where codefendants in other states being tried together, one waived speedy trial and the other demanded to be brought a speedy trial within the legal timeframe. Some of the questions those situations brought up were like

-can one defendant be forced to a speedy trial if their Codefendant waived that right?
-if so, is it violating any rights of either defendant?
-if the defendant demanding a speedy trial is made to wait, is there a time limit on how long they can be forced to wait that can extend beyond the speedy trial period?

personally I don’t think even if that happened and their cases got split, none of that helps either one of them much. But it does, or it could, make the State focus on having to argue some other things that they may not be expecting or prepared for. And, in my opinion, I think we’ve already seen them spend so much of their time and resources on things the Court already ruled on, so even if this was some strategic maneuver (if it ever happened), it doesn’t help the State. The 19th will be a reallllllly interesting day.

Documentation of non compliance with treatment is evidence of competence. That means a patient has the cognitive ability to choose to not do activities or participate in treatment. It is a neat little box.

If a patient won't take meds, or go to therapy, it is obvious that the person is non compliant with medical recommendations.

Not sure if this is the case with LVD, but it is a common situation with people who are deliberately trying to stall the system.

I should also add that deliberate manipulative behaviors are also a sign of competence. Breaking rules, asking for "favors" from staff, acting differently in front of different staff.

For example, showing favoritism for different staff, in an effort to create drama and staff splitting is a common manipulative behavior. And shows competence, deliberate behavior that is deceptive in nature.

I just hope she doesn’t OFF herself before the trial next year.

Nahhhh.... she likes herself too much to do that.

She's probably chompin' at the bit for some publicity time (for her it's probably tv-time like Wheel of Misfortune or Ms Goddess of Imprisonment pageant :D)

If she was so incompetent, how was it that Mark Means met with her at the jail, day-in and day-out, for months on end to prepare for trial? Was he meeting with a total vegetable? I think not.

It will be interesting to watch for Mark Means comments now that he no longer has access to LVD nor her case file. No more leaking documents to youtubers and no more frantically (manically) written court motions.

To quote the recently restored defendant herself, "That's great"!
You need to toss your 'blonde' locks of hair when you say that! :D

I don't for a minute think it was anything other than murder, but I suppose it's theoretically possible that she got the sheets tangled around her neck or something like that.
As one does (not).

But Chad (in the same bed) didn't say anything like that, did he.
