I am choosing to discuss the Part Three in a separate post, because I know we have had some issues about talking about the religion since the very beginning of the case. So I will this is my opinion of how I heard the final part of the Three-part podcast.
Part Three does discuss Chad a good deal, but it is really much more about Heather's journey and how she had to leave LDS.
But to truly understand Chad's stuff, and Heather herself, the Church is a critical piece to both Lori and Chad. I believe it is on-Topic, so will just share a few details.
Heather says Chad was beginning to push is End-Times stuff A LOT. And that was his very specific reason for wanting to come to Rexburg...is because that was where the "End-Times" stuff was going to be really strong and important.
This was back in the 2015-16 timeframe. Heather did feel surprise at how many people were beginning to show up at events talking about this stuff. (I THINK she said, even before the Prepare the People got big).
Heather said, that even though Chad is such a manipulator, she feels he really did believe this End-Times stuff. And kept making excuses each time the earthquakes did not come.
Chad wanted Matt to read his autobiography, but Matt refused. Heather told Chad, that she would read it. Not what Chad had intended! But she did, and basically told Chad that Matt would never read it.
Chad was gaining lots of friends in the Church. Heather tried to warn higher up Church officers, and she indicates that they did nothing about his radical stuff.
Chad would always say to her "The Church knows what I am doing, and they are fine".
She has determined that what Chad and other off-shoots of LDS have done, is try to go back to the roots of Joseph Smith (polygamy and other practices), and is basically abandoning the Mainstream Church.
And Chad, specifically had the intent of being the head of the whole "new" endeavor when the earthquakes came. (Church of the Firstborn ??)
Heather ultimately did leave the LDS Church, for three reasons.
1. Churches take on LGBTQ (she has a gay son).
2. Patriarchy--how much they force woman to do so much work, but never have authority.
3. Refusal to address the types of things that Chad (and other groups) are doing.
