The people that started (Pathway to Zion) started it for Chad and I and other dreamers and visionaries who were being persecuted... I know, as of a month ago, (Hector Sosa) was still talking to Chad." Hector Sosa Jr. has defended Chad Daybell on other online message boards.
hmmm. that tweet unavailable now...

Something else just came to me. Is the bondsman going to be willing to post the bond before they have the 100K (or whatever it is) fee? What form would that take? I'm guessing there is probably a way for Chad to move the money electronically or if he had a bondsman semi-lined-up, might have worked out the logistics in advance, but if not, I could see a wrench getting thrown in the works tonight.
I assumed he would have had this all lined up already. So I am wondering what the wrench might be as well.

The bail is 20-100x the amount they pleaded for

We know they could have posted $10-50K in cash with no need for a bondsman.

At $1m, they need to not only post $100K cash (which they may need for the legal fees) plus also security for the $1m

That is not so easy, and presumably they do no have this level of assets or liquidity.

I don't see how they could have $1 Million collateral unless they have several friends/family members willing to put up their homes. Chad's house and land is only appraiset $204,543.
Search here: Fremont County Idaho MapServer

And Chad still hasn't paid his property taxes from the second half of 2019 (pg 227): http://www.co.fremont.id.us/departments/treasurer/unpaidlisting.pdf
I did not say anything when this property tax information was posted previously. But these charges are for 2012. Chad didn't decide to move to Idaho until 2014, right? And it is hard for me to believe they did not have a mortgage. They had had the bankruptcy and sold the Utah house to Tammy's parents. I just can't imagine they were cash flush to buy a house outright.

I think the value of his property went up, if I'm not mistaken, since this all went public. I seem to remember somebody posting a while back that the house was roughly $157k. I might be mistaken. Does anybody else remember?

ETA: In the states I've lived in (where I've own homes), taxes were paid out of escrow. Is ID different?

Why do they stay in a religion that they feel they are above?? Why not give up the farce and start their own. Especially when they are claiming that their leaders are using unrighteous dominion?
It is so hard to understand. I've seen enough "former Mormon" sites to see just how painfully hard it is to remove oneself. The guilt, depression, family separations, the shunning..... So I just don't get it either. HOWEVER...given that it is such a dominant force in any Mormon's life-- having to straddle both worlds of mainstream and more extreme must be hard too. Can you imagine living with always having to look over your shoulder??? Yuck. My religion is simple! ha ha! God, love and forgiveness. And "the second is like unto it...love thy neighbor as thyself.

I'm sure this has been brought up before but this saga is one of the most bizarre and convoluted criminal cases I've ever followed. What are the odds that LV and her current hubby met up and have the same bizarre (IMO) doomsday beliefs and BOTH are refusing to say where these children are? And with several jurisdictions involved in any other investigations into suspicious activities, it has to be a nightmare for investigators. I fear there will be too many legal loopholes to put cases together efficiently and these two will escape prosecution. And after watching LV's arrogance today in the courtroom, she is thumbing her nose at anyone and everyone. She will NOT like wearing an ankle monitor one bit. Maybe her cult buddies will figure out how to disable it. Laws mean nothing to her as long as she has her lipstick and eye shadow. JMO.
Your nightmare is my nightmare: I fear there will be too many legal loopholes to put cases together efficiently and these two will escape prosecution

They seem terrified of losing their temple recommends. I think they receive special visions in there or something. Not positive about that, just the impression I have gleaned bouncing around. Moo jmo
Just love your rabbit hole, Lyrarya!

It would be a very interesting conundrum if Chad and Lori attend the LDS church in Rexburg. That would really take the cake.

I think that if they do something like that, that it would be "discouraged" by leadership.
If and when she bails, probably needs a disguise to go out in public. I recommend short black hair and wearing a hoodie and mask.

Is there a reason she keeps getting preferential treatment or is it common to have your own cell?
Michael Avenatti got his own cell, at least at first. And for all his alleged millions in fraud, not one violent act. It’s to protect the facility as well as the perpetrator. High profile perps are often a target of abuse by other inmates, and the facility could be sued if it came about they placed the perps in a dangerous situation knowingly.

Someone in YouTube comments asked if the judge was a prepper. That sent chills down my spine. it’s a secret group within LDS, most seem to be professionals or working class with some savings (let’s face it, being a prepper ain’t cheap), it is Rexburg. I’m like omg, he totally could be, we’d never know,

An Idaho Falls BB company tells us they’re trying to work w/ Lori Vallow’s reps. There are obstacles.

- Vallow needs to prove she has $1M in assets
- Bond company’s insurance needs to assess risk
- $100K (10%) needs to be wired to account of bondsman which could take 24 hours.
Sure Lori has $1M in assets.... the million Charles signed over to Kay. Oops

I think it would have been cheaper for lv to have shown up in court and asked for an extension on producing the children citing time constraints. No contempt under that situation and would have bought ssome time. She has lame lawyers I think.

Lori's a curious one for me. I didn't realize she grew up LDS until I read about her childhood in an article. Even though she belonged to a faithful family and attended seminary, her life choices after high school abandon the mainstream mormon path of: mission, temple marriage, babies, raise a family, serve another mission as empty nesters, become mission presidents, die & go to heaven. (Slightly tongue in cheek, but that's the UT/ID/AZ stereotype. It's how my life went for the most part [minus the dying!] And most of my family members' lives as well.)

She's had multiple non-member husbands, never seems to have 'made it' to the temple, children from different fathers, etc. It's definitely not a typical mormon life story. Charles and his family say she seriously changed when she got into the end of times stuff. I'd be really curious to know what her church activity looked like before then. I don't think Charles or his family belonged to the church and I imagine she was inactive when she married him. It was her longest marriage so I'd wager they were fairly happy until she got involved with the extreme stuff.

Anyway, she just doesn't fit any of the profiles I have based on the people I grew up with and know through the LDS AVOW community. I am afraid she has some kind of undiagnosed personality disorder. I don't know what her motivations might be.

Edited to add: Another thing that stands out to me is that most of the people I know personally who get really into the 'chosen one' stuff are from very privileged backgrounds in their mormon communities. They come from 'general authority' stock and believe they have been very blessed because of their righteousness. They are proud of their pioneer heritage and have a certain brand of proud-humility about them... they talk a LOT about being thankful for god's blessings. These are the types of people IME who end up feeling like they're future prophets... not women with a messy marriage/divorce history and kids from different fathers. Not that redemption doesn't play a part in everyone's life story... it's just another difference I've noticed from the (I'm sorry to armchair diagnose) raging narcissists in my life who claim to have been grand beings in their past lives.

Chad is far easier for me to understand. He was raised LDS and walked the walk and talked the talk. I think he truly believes the things he's written and prophesied about, though I agree he doesn't *look* like the sharpest tool in the shed, especially lately in the news. What I don't know is why he abandoned the mainstream LDS path (married in the temple, kids mostly raised) to leap off a cliff with Lori. Was it really a mutual belief in these extreme things? Has she pulled one over on him? Is it a massive midlife crisis combined with some developing diagnosed mental issues? Did the 'specialness' he grew up with in the church give him delusions of grandeur? So many questions.
I feel your analysis of the two is what many of us keep thinking about ( both inside LDS and outside LDS). But you have stated the dynamics behind Lori and Chad so well. Sometimes we get bogged down on the site here sliding down the slippery slope or falling into yet another rabbit hole of discussing religion. (those phrases always come up!!!!) But it just seems paramount to this whole case.

I would add a couple of background pieces and request your additional thoughts. I believe your solid differentiation of "what kind of Mormon" Lori might be as compared to Chad does have a lot to do with how she moves forward.

Lori did not grow up in the UT/AZ/ID clouds, and I have always thought that makes a big difference. Mormons in other parts of the country seem to live much quieter and private lives. Having to travel miles to get to a ward, having n0 other Mormons in their neighborhoods etc. is a whole different life style. The three I knew best (MA, NJ, and OH) all ended up moving to UT or AZ in their later years.

Lori's high school friend said her family always seemed private to her. They were in Rialto, CA. We all seem to know she ended up in a first marriage right out of HS, but we don't know his name or anything. It does appear that shortly after this episode in Lori's life, the family moved back to TX (where her father was originally from). I personally have surmised that this could have been WHY they moved back. jmo

How do LDS parents treat, instruct their children who go astray??? Are they different when not in a heavily LDS area? It does appear that even with transgressions---FAMILY still always wins out.
What does a child, say, who has had transgressions...feel they have to do to get back in good standing.

She could get a Casey Anthony disguise and be slightly less hated?

I have to say, I do love the late shifters here!! I'm up late thinking about this case most nights anyway! Glad to know I'm not alone!! DARG for life, lol. :p ;)
And I am an early bird. Thought i woke up at my normal 5 -5:30ish am, started making the coffee, and THEN saw the clock said 3...but the coffee was gurgling, so no reason to go back to bed. I'm assuming you are now asleep tho!!

Then, how were they Grandparents of JJ? Charles Vallow adopted JJ from his niece? I thought that it was a sister's child.

As if this case isn't confusing enough.
Kay's son (nephew of Charles) is the bio father of JJ. Kay and Larry raised JJ till he was about 9 months old until Charles and Lori adopted him.

I was kind of surprised the Prosecutor didn't bring up the unpaid property taxes in the argument against bail, tbh. Jmo
