I thought that as well about Melani but noone else seemed to agree with me about that either. If they are alive and I hope they are, then I think she is just being pig headed about it. If they are dead then why is Chad accepting that?

What about mutual visionary friends of Chad and Lori? I wonder if any of them live off the beaten path. Jmo.

And whoever she supposedly is hiding them with is not anyone else?
Someone who is not going to go to LE and who she probably knows very well from being in Hawaii before IMO. I admit I am probably wrong. I thought she was going to bring them to the welfare offices on the 30th.

No one would voluntarily want this type of LEO attention. Even folks who shun government bureaucracy and oversight. They prefer a low footprint.

You own post doesn't say his rights were automatically restored. He would be allowed to have his gun in his home after five years. That's it. If you think he would have his full rights restored in five years, you are wrong.
"Under Texas state law a convicted felon may possess a firearm in the residence, in which he lives, once five years have elapsed from the date his sentence was discharged. This means the later of release from prison or parole. This is not true under federal law. So, while a convicted felony could lawfully possess a firearm in these very limited circumstance under state law, he could possibly be charged and convicted under federal law, even though current federal policy is to defer to state law on this issue."

Didn't he tell Chandler LE he had a concealed carry permit and he always had his gun with him? They would have checked that right?

So why does Chad want it? To sell his books and upcoming film perhaps?

I am not so sure that he knew that Lori was going to get rid of her kids. She probably told him that they were with her brother. And, as far as we know, that could be the truth.

But, we really don't know anything. Except, most normal folks, when LEO does a welfare check, (not that would happen to normal folks), anyway, most folks would call their kids, Skype, let LEO see them, drama over.

Not from what I've seen. Jmo.

I really hope you are right! This is one time I want to be wrong. What has been shown of her maternal instincts this week fills me with dread but look how many times children have reappeared after hope was lost. It does happen, unfortunately less than the alternative.

"I’m really not that creative… My torn veil allows information to be downloaded into my brain from the other side. The scenes I am shown are real events that will happen.”

“That tells us something about his personality,” Bertram said. “He believes what he is hearing gives him direction in his life…"

"Chad Daybell wrote that he believes their five children will have a role to play in the second-coming of Jesus Christ. Many of the characters in his novels are named after his five biological children."

I wonder if Lori's children will have a role to play as well...

So now Chad has seen all that is going on, does he now know where the kids are? Would he insist on seeing them or take Lori's word on it?

What alarmed me most when I first read about AC's use of a taser against a defenseless JR was: What the hell is a grown man - a man who is younger than JR - and a man who is supposedly familiar with guns as a means of self defense (a "professional" according to Lori) doing with a taser?

While tasers may be used by some women for self defense, what is a male gun nut doing with one? For such a person, it seems a taser would only be useful to subdue. To control. I wonder if AC shouldn't be considered a POI in crimes involving the use of a taser at truck stops across the southwestern and Midwestern US over his years of driving.

And I still haven't given up entirely on the idea that the paintball dude might've been holding / firing a taser.

If there was life insurance she could have taken the proceeds and bought a single premium immediate annuity that provides monthly income for life. Charles was in that business. He could have had this all set up.

Okay, I can see that being done and hadn't thought of that option. I suspect she still wouldn't be covering a ton of that 30K a month they claimed, but you've convinved me she could have had income more than the social security money.

Every time we go down this rabbit hole we get in trouble, but the short keeps-me-out-of-trouble answer is yes, many do.

Right. I doubt she would get much money because, at her age, her life expectancy is so long that the annuity payout rate would be low. Unless there is a product based on a joint life expectancy or something. I'm not familiar enough to know but it would seem like an attractive product for many people.

Regarding removing her as beneficiary. It's hard to believe he could do that as long as they are married and have a 7 year old special need child she would be solely responsible for.

He is in too deep now to get out. It is going to be "Thelma and Louise" time, or ?. They are in it...maybe they are smarter than LEO, and win.

It is going to be an excellent book to read when it is all over.
