Am I to interpret this as these people are not being formally detained for questioning, and have voluntarily traveled to Chicago to answer questions regarding being in the area about the time of the attack?

As the victim stated, "He has no doubt that these two people are the attackers and never did."

With that much proof...the victim's truthful words that no one has a right to question...Why aren't they formally charged yet?

That is how I'm reading it. JS said in the GMA interview "I don't have any doubt in my mind that that's them."

CPD say they believe these are the two people seen on the video released to the public. Should be getting word any time now that they have been formally charged... I would think.

Small summary of the video:
He says that they yelled at him while crossing the intersection and he yelled back and then got punched in the face. Jussie punched the attacker back and then they started "tussling" by the stairs. Fighting, fighting, fighting then theres a second person kicking him in his back then it just stopped and they ran off and he" saw where they ran " (note police report states that he does not remember in which direction the attackers fled so perhaps it came to him later?). Manager is still on the phone so he picks it up and says "Brandon" "He says whats going on" "I was just jumped". Then he looks down and theres a rope around his neck. Robin asks him how long it took, he says it felt like minutes but it was probably 30 seconds. He says when he noticed the rope around his neck he started screaming and saying "theres a rope around my neck". He says he gave a body description because the attacker was wearing a ski mask. He says he has no doubt that the still image the police released was of his attackers

No mention of the substance being poured on him that was described in the initial police report.
Thats only the first portion of the interview, they haven't said how many more parts there'll be but that the timing of the 911 call will be discussed in another part

Ok, again..that's weird. He had a rope around his neck and it had to have been pulled in such a way to give him a rope burn on his neck...but he didn't notice a rope or feel a rope till after they fled and he picked up his phone?

As someone mentioned that is strangulation so the suspects should be wanted for attempted murder. But how the heck do you have someone attempt to strangle you but you aren't aware of that till they are gone? I would think in a tussle with two individuals once a noose goes around your neck tight enough for you to feel it let alone give you rope burn then your hands would immediately go to the rope to loosen it. It's just a basic sense of self preservation. You couldn't NOT notice a rope around your neck!

There are two possibilities with the noose. It was just placed around his neck to threaten and frighten. Or there was actual attempted strangulation with the noose. I don't see how any of that adds up though. And THIS is why people are skeptical. I am not a terribly clever person but this sounds fantastical and impossible. A noose around the neck giving a rope burn but is not noticed during said strangulation. How can that possibly even fit in a tiny 60 second window of verbally assaulted, people crossing the street, punched and kicked, doused with a hot sauce bottle of bleach AND strangled with a noose he didn't feel but only later saw?

I understand victim memories are not always 100% but this guy is really not helping his own case if his general allegation proves true. He should shut up and let the investigation play out. He has legal representation...what else could he ask for?

OK, this is pure speculation on my part and I don't know if I'm allowed to speculate like this but here goes:

He flies into O'hare from LA with a couple buddies, one is cast member. They have a plan. JS tweets or Instagram (whatever is was) that his flight is delayed.

Friend (director) picks them up from airport. JS says he is hungry and goes to Subway. This gives him a reason to go out on one of the coldest nights in Chicago.

On his way back his buddy's rough him up a little and put a rope around his neck. This accounts for the gentle treatment. He goes back to the apartment and waits 40 minutes before calling 911. This gives his buddies a chance to get back to O'hare to catch a flight back to LA.

I think it was stupid luck the performance wasn't caught on video.

LE tracks the two by transportation records and find out who they are.

Why, you ask would they do that. Well it has already been posted in great detail on this board the political agenda taking place at this time. This would bring more light to the plight of this if a high profile person suffered such a fate.

All speculation on my part of course based upon recent reporting by TMZ!

I won't be surprised at all if this exactly what happened. They certainly weren't "bums" as some articles were reporting....."bums" don't fly in and out of O'Hare.
