I do not agree with you. I have appreciated their posts and didn't find them to be trolling at all.
Difference of opinions is a good thing to avoid an echo chamber

You could be right.I’m not so sure.
He will be able to say “the charges were dropped,” and people who don’t know any better, will buy it.
Some people think that no crime has been committed, as long as you haven’t been charged with anything.
The facts and evidence are clear here, but there are people out there who don’t care.
They will believe what they want to believe, and find any justification for doing so.
This was the best possible result for him.
I don't think I said every single officer was assigned to this case did I? Whether it was one officer or 200 officers, still a waste.
The way he was able to go on tv and lie through his teeth to Robin Roberts, tells me all I need to know about him.You could be right.
I was thinking that his conscious thoughts about the crimes he committed would weigh on him with time.
But perhaps evil has pervaded his soul to the point that any feelings of guilt or remorse are gone forever. JMO
I dont believe every single officer was reassigned to this case.
I dont think every single officer was tasked with looking at CCTV tapes.
We have no idea if any of the LE people who worked on this case could have apprehended any criminals and prevented further crime if they had worked on other cases.IIRC the news article I read a few days ago, said CPD had diverted ten full-time officers to the process of tracking down all the leads; and also said something about overtime/how long the shifts were (that I can't recall, sorry).
It just hit me how similar this case is to sherri papini
Perhaps you dont think so, but even one officer assigned to investigate this BS assault is one to many. And as far as stopping that child from being shot, no that would not have changed, but maybe they could have found whoever was responsible a little quicker! $160,000.00 of taxpayer dollars wasted because this punk wants publicity! Very sad!
I politely disagree. This case is not in the least bit similar to SP.
a) SP, a wife and mother disappeared whilst on a jog, nobody saw her or heard from her until she was found on Thanksgiving almost 3 weeks later.
b) SP was not a celebrity, activist or actress.
c) SP had no "agenda" or friends in high places, nor did any "friends" of hers come clean with LE to say that SP told them to pretend to abduct her, assault her, then release her.
d) There is zero evidence that SP hoaxed her own kidnapping. However there is a ton of evidence that JS created his hate crime hoax and enlisted two friends of his to go along with it. They knew the game was up and confessed to LE.
JS was indicted by a grand jury then mysteriously had all charges dropped and the case is sealed.
The Smollett case back-door dealings is not a conspiracy THEORY.
It is a conspiracy fact with many indicators pointing to a conspiracy behind closed doors. That's why people are so outraged.
We'll agree to disagree as I requested before. Moving on...roll and scroll.
IMHO.

Thanks I misred that as 160mil and was like whatttttCBS News learned Emanuel is considering suing Smollett to recoup some of those tax payer dollars wasted, adding up to $150,000. That’s 15 times more than the bond the actor forfeited Tuesday.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel Considers Suing Jussie Smollett To Recoup Money Spent On Case
BBM I completely disagree. Committing a crime against another person solely because of their race, religion or sexual preference, speaks to the core of humanity. I've been watching this case and these threads since the beginning. I've restrained from posting, in fear I would say something that would get me banned from this site. When this case first broke, I told my son about it and warned him, yet again, to always be careful and aware of his surroundings. Needless to say, shortly after, he gets home one day and says "it wasn't a hate crime, the guy staged it." Being the mother of a gay son, who is also a minority (Hispanic), I fear for his safety every second of every day. We live in a very conservative state, where there have been hundreds upon hundreds of hate crimes with one of the worst in history occurring here. What Jussie Smollett did makes me sick and yes, he staged his own hate crime. If he had an ounce of dignity, he would admit it and apologize. What he did has affected everyone in one way or another and it most definitely has affected gay, minority men. IMOThen why not prosecute him?
No conspiracy theories please.
Theres much bigger issues in the world than if he says he did it or not. The punishment is not going to change.
SBMshe wasted even more resources
I believe Federal investigation of the terrorist mail threat is still ongoing.
Not everything about this hoax is closed
Alford plea was mentioned when someone said that no one ever agrees to charges when they are innocent.I'm trying to understand the Alford Plea idea that was mentioned upthread.
Smollett is charged with 16 offenses.
Is this the Smollett version of the Alford:
- he admits to the court that there is enough evidence to convict him on at least one of the charges
- he makes a deal to pay the courts $10k and, in exchange, all charges are dropped
If this is what happened, this does need to be a special plea that everyone can use going forward. Call it the Smollett (mentioned a couple of days ago).
How it Works:
- someone commits murder
- murderer admits that there is enough evidence for a conviction (Alford Plea)
- instead of an appropriate sentence, payment for $10,000 or more results in all charges being dropped
True, but there was a link about the FBI doing an inquiry (doesn't result in charges) into how the case was handled, and one does wonder whether their participation regarding the letter is one of inquiry as well.
Does it really take this long to figure out where the letter came from? If there is evidence that it came from the brothers under Smollett's direction, why haven't all three been charged?
