It is beyond maddening that the courts are enabling this sociopath and his delusional, self-absorbed family/entourage.

Chappelle did his part to speak truth to this clown and his outrageous story when it first broke a few years ago. I would love him to speak up again and I would love to see other high profile/famous people do the same this time. Then I would love to see a reporter ask a family member or even ask Jussie what he thinks of the Chappelle bit from a few years ago and any new ones calling out his bs.

Apparently he has been surrounded by a group of enablers his entire life: he has grown up with a sense of entitlement and I imagine has gotten away with a lot of crap his entire life for which excuses were made. I would guess for example if he auditioned for a part and didn't get it, he was told by his enablers that those people didn't realize what a great talent he is, etc etc etc. He has not had to pay a price for bad behavior and now he is getting away with criminal behavior. He is truly a disgusting individual.

What lesson has Mr. Smollet learned ?
As far as his personal safety, he could have been placed in a separate location from the others.

I suspect exactly the opposite. I suspect it will not in hopes that Mr. Smollett will fade out of the public eye long enough for this to all just go away. But I doubt Jussie CAN lay low and keep his lying lips closed so it will have to be addressed at some point. The machinations of team JS bore me. Seeing him released when other regular folks (not rich famous or POC) do not receive that sort of special treatment and languish behind bars as their appeals grind forward was extremely disappointing.

I shouldn't have been surprised but was at this latest turn. At this point, I'm over this whole story. SMDH

It could take a couple of years. The whole system is backed up by COVID and appeals often come after the ever present daily crimes.

certain demographic, including race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, etc.

Let's say now, post-JS-trial, the IL. dist atty is publicly pressured (by JS & others) to pursue hate crime charges against the O's. Seems imo, DA could make a legit, public stmt to the effect--- we have no credible information that O. brothers targeted JS, based on his race, religion, sexual orientation, etc., and in fact testimony & other evidence at trial proved JS solicited the O's to buy rope, & assault him, etc.

Imo whatever injuries (if any) the O's may have caused JS, they did not commit a hate crime against him. Racial, religious, gender, sexual orientation etc prejudice did not motivate them to target him.

Imo regardless of the outcome on his appeal and eventual bids for post-conviction relief, JS' (hypothetical future) call for O. brothers to be charged w a hate crime would fall flat.

Would the prospect of falling flat deter JS from trying? IDK. my2ct.

No kidding. I have been in a few fights in my life. You throw some ice cubes in a zip lock bag and put it on your lip, or cheek for a little while. You'll be fine.
