Wasn't COD gunshot? Or is there a new rumor?

Yes. "Devastating wound" to major organ by gunshot. JMO Mode is homicide, suicide, accident or undetermined. JMO

Exactly! We have lived here long enough to know the area without having to file a foid request.

Who do you suspect? JMO

  • #303
I think that possibly, the "usual suspects" meaning people with records or known drug activity etc, were probably the majority of the 80 people swabbed. They have also been cleared, according to investigators. So, who does that leave? JMO
Good question. It seems from here they would need a tip or confession since it looks pretty deadend.

Okay, if you want to be technical. The manner of which the COD is still undetermined in which a gun shot wound was sustained to the torso.

Or even a FOIA request, for that matter. JMO

Well, if this was about a drug deal, I have not heard or seen anything from investigators that hints at that. Is the DEA involved in the investigation??? Seems like there would be some clue, that that is the motive LE is pursuing. JMO

I CERTAINLY would NOT broadcast this information if in pursuit of drug suspects. That would give something for Filenko to gripe about if true and was released.

Really? Cause of death has been determined, however the MODE of death has not. it is homicide, suicide, accident or undetermined. JMO This is why there is a hang-up. so far, evidence cannot rule out homicide or suicide. JMO

Not sure if you heard something new as technically Cause of Death and Manner of Death are different things and Rudd did say the Cause. Just didn't want to misunderstand if yyou had some info.

Food for thought.

I know we have our panel of "There is not three suspects" .. which is fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. But for anyone open minded to the 3 suspects..

"You know the old saying, Three can keep a secret, if two of them are dead." ---

This would be an angle I would keep an eye out for. Subsequent suspicious deaths.

I can assure you when I have been in the position in knowing factual information pertaining to a case that is unavailable to the general public, I would not be offering a theory or sharing on a message board, that is inflammatory and you would have to become verified and I like others appreciate the anonymity of the www. I am like everyone else here, going off what has been released to the public in the MSM, not sure how you could read that far into my statement but again like you pointed out, we must interpret differently than one another.

I do hope that you have submitted a tip if you have any suspicions of a group or anyone in particular. JMO

If the task force believes these three exist why aren't they pleading for one to turn himself in before things get worse blah blah blah.

Geez, no one said anything about CIA top secret special decoder ring info.

I said rumor in my first post....

It could have been a drug deal. It could be just someone who had a joint in thier pocket, or other drugs or paraphernalia. Or someone with a parole violation.
Basically anyone that thought that killing a cop would be better than being arested. You just don't know how violent people will react to a seemingly passive situation.

I haven't lived in Illinois now for several years. I do have family that own a business within yards of the scene though and they didn't hear any gun shots that morning but were like others and locked down their business. I don't think my statement indicates I have certain knowledge of suspects. I am speaking from my perspective, generally when dealing with drug related offenders which there is a large range that spans within that category. Tipping them off might be counter productive to the investigation, IMO.

What do your relatives think happened? JMO

I agree criminals are stupid but turning around and Killing a cop would be better than running away after having a head start?

Maybe not having any info is the ruse? Maybe that's just one big bs story from LE to try and get the suspects believe they have reason to relax a little?

I still wish we knew more about the 90 minute meeting Lt. CG had with the mayor the day prior to his being killed. It doesn't take 90 minutes to discuss what would happen to the Explorers after he was gone. What else did the conversation entail?

My brother talks with them more often I do. I just called him to see if he had an update but he hasn't talked to them since around the time it happened. He said he will call tomorrow. He said the rumors are rampant up there. But we ALL already knew that ;)

I see this come up a lot and not just wrt this case. What is the advantage to having suspects think the cops aren't on to them?
