There is no longer a memorial for Lt. Joe Gliniewicz outside the Fox Lake Police Department. #FoxLake @cbschicago

Noticed that the bunting was down a couple of days ago, but other articles were still there. Slowly being removed. Interesting timing with a presser there tomorrow.

Did anyone see there is going to be an update on the 10 o'clock cbs news tonight? Said something about all the Fox Lake police officers being swabbed?

All of this arguing. I've read the last four pages..................

To protect and serve ? I don't think so.

They serve themselves and they protect their fellow officers.

Everybody in this thread has had legitimate arguments. I remember back when Cubby offered up a suicide theory I thought to myself, "have you lost your Fu%$#*ng mind" ? "Maybe you need to crawl your 🤬🤬🤬 back into the box !"

As of tonight, we don't know what the findings are. As of tommorow evening, we may and we may not know.

I'll have to voice this much up front though. If this is a suicide.....then Charles Gliniewicz is far from a hero and a role model. He's a manipulator, a faker, and a scammer. He's someone who had no business being in charge of anything. He's a high school graduate with a badge. If that turns out to be the case, I'm going to tell all of you a little story about my life, and why I've always hated cops.

Stay tuned.

Didn't see it but they should have all been swabbed at the start. Especially if they were on scene our had ever touched his vest, gun, car, etc... so really everyone.

Lol
Well I don't personally think anyone is a hero simply because of their job title. Sorry but nothing gliniewicz has done that I have read demonstrated he was a hero whether he was killed by someone else or he killed himself.

But you are correct. Police do tend to protect the thin blue line. Many professions protect themselves. The problem is police have so much power and can potentially ruin other people's lives with it.

I just think if he did commit suicide and three innocent people were harmed our imprisoned because of his false call so that he could look like a hero that it's just unforgivable.

I just hope we get closure tomorrow but I won't hold my breath.

Actually, 30 days today. But who's counting? More interesting timing with the cleanup though.

So too with something I consider to be tantamount to theft/attempted insurance fraud for a huge amount of money.

Authorities to update Fox Lake investigation on Thursday
Updated 53 mins ago
FOX LAKE, Ill. (WLS) --
Authorities in Lake County are expected to release new details in the investigation into the death of Fox Lake Lt. Joe Gliniewicz.

Investigators have scheduled a news conference at 10 a.m. Thursday. They are expected to give out information about new evidence at the scene, ballistics and some details in reports that have come in.

They are not expected to announce any change in the direction of the investigation.

"...and some details in reports...". Not holding my breath for anything substantial.

It probably didn't help matters that just a couple days after this happened that cop in Massachusetts admitted to faking his shooting and car accident.

I think the publicity, political atmosphere surrounding police, the outrageous manhunt, the funeral parade and the task force obfuscation was the perfect storm to cause all this doubt among so many of the public and even LE.

I think police might be learning they just can't get away with saying "nothing to see here ma'am, move along" anymore.

Which three innocent people were harmed or imprisoned?

It bothers me if his family is bending over backwards as well. Do they want the truth? Because it seems they have a problem with any investigation that points away from those benefits.

Which three innocent people were harmed or imprisoned?

That's part of the hypothetical that begins with 'if'; the 'were' after 'three innocent people' confirms this is a hypothetical by being in the subjunctive mood.

Which three innocent people were harmed or imprisoned?

Uh none thus far. But that was shear luck. Because had they found the people that day that even remotely fit the disciption he gave it is likely one or more could have been hurt or killed and possibly falsely imprisoned.

They should all have been swabbed upon employment for the very reason of ruling out their dna in any case with transfer dna. They keep finger prints on file for all LEO. I learned this when I voluntarily submitted fingerprints turning possible evidence into our local county LE. My step dad is retired LE from decades ago and his were on file.

I hope they're not going to try and bs the public into thinking they didn't have LE's dna from the get go.

That is what I immediately thought. They better not come out and say they found DNA on the gun or vest but it could be transfer so to rule it out we have swabbed everyone and now we have to wait for those test results to come back.

I really think if they do that they are just nitpicking for evidence and have no intention of closing this case and how we all go away so they can rule the way they want without questions.

And if it doesn't turn out to be the case, will you ever tell us?

Anytime. I was a rough little a-hole back when I was working in the Texas oilfields, I still am. I had a roommate name Larry that was friends with a bunch of the local cops. One of our best allies was a guy named Charlie. He would come over and sit in the house and smoke dope with Larry until the wee hours of the morning, while his squad car was parked out in front of the house. We could get away with anything, knowing we had an "in" with the local cops. This would include wild parties, crystal meth, cocaine, booze, girls (sober or not) and just about anything we wanted to pay for. We didn't worry about anything because we were friends with the cops, and they were at the parties we threw.

I've got hours and hours of stories about cops......both pro and con. This is real-life s**t.........not speculation. As I've gotten older and wiser....I see now how the system works, and how it is geared. It's no wonder LE has set up their own secret society......them against "everybody else".

It's gotten so big now though, who can stop it ? The answer, nobody.

That's why they don't feel obligated to answer questions anymore. They have their own society, and we aren't part of it.
