From Presser:

- Many more questions than answers

- Stress that there has been alot of misinformation spread on social media. Please think twice before you post information on social media and other online outlets

-This is a death investigation, and not all information can be released

-Inquiries from even the National News Outlets on this investigation, and that did help get her case out there

-Her body was found on a sandbar 1 mile west of the media staging area from last night

-Thanking natoinal media and all the various LE agencies

-LE looks really, really distraught (MOO - this is not a suicide)

-Doing an autopsy

-Investigation is looking at every angle

-LE has received a number of tips that they are following up on, and want anyone who did see her or her car to please contact them

-Not commenting on whether she left her vehicle willingly or not

-Vehicle was running, and she had her four way flashers on

-Not certain if dogs were dropped off or not

-If you seen anything out of line, no matter how small please call

-Report made that someone came out of the woods bloody and that was completely inaccurate. That incident was occuring somehwere else in the state, and that social media misinformation was seen by over 200,000 people in a very short period of time, and caused ALOT of problems in the investigation

-Officers were out all night working, and now they are supporting the family, and making sure they get the investigation right, they have a number of officers working on the case

-Crime rate in Columbus is way below the national average

-Obligation to conduct a thorough investigation.

-LE will be at the back of the room for questions off camera

-Crime rate in Columbus is way below the national average

I wonder why they mentioned this...wasn't the crime rate where Liberty and Abby were murdered practically non-existent also?

Respectfully snipped. I interpret the first point as stressing not to speculate foul play or link to other cases. It seems they were careful not to use words like kill or foul play and did not warn about a risk to public safety. It seems most plausible that is because they have more information now that her body has been located, possible witness testimony, etc. I think we should be careful about jumping to conclusions that could spread fear in an already fearful state. JMO.

<modsnip> She may have fallen in the river, which as posted, has a very strong current and was cold. She may have drown and washed up on the sandbar. JMO.

Very sad

If it turns out that she was murdered, I do not like it at all that LE refuses to warn the public immediately upon finding the body/bodies. Remember Libby and Abby? LE even came out and said for the public not to be worried. WHAT?? 2 young girls have just been murdered, they don't know who did it, and the public shouldn't be worried?? Sorry, that's just BS.

Jackie's car was found around 5PM. That is still broad daylight. From Google maps it appears to be a lovely area with houses around, that's Friday drive time..you would think a lot of people may have saw this. <modsnip>

Idk..I think LE should at least say we have no reason to believe at this time its a murder, her body has no obvious signs of blah, blah, etc.

Yes. That's what I believe happened. The water temps cannot exceed 25-30 degrees.

The journalist asked the question at the end of the presser, if LE could elaborate on what they meant by speculating and social media.

LE responded by stating yes, he could, and went on to discuss SM spreading incorrectly that a man had been seen coming out of the woods bloody.

He stated that there was a different crime, in another place, that a man was bloody in the woods, and it spread like wildfire that it was related to this case.

Quite right, apologies for jumping the gun and already doing that, too late to edit my pg 7 post.

From Google maps it appears to be a lovely area with houses around, that's Friday drive time..you would think a lot of people may have saw this. <modsnip>Also, since it was daylight, she would have certainly seen that she was approaching a river..it's not like she would blindly run into a river...she could see it.

Idk..I think LE should at least say we have no reason to believe at this time its a murder, her body has no obvious signs of blah, blah, etc.

I completely agree.

When Canadian LE determined 2 murders, 88 break in's and 2 sexual assaults were related - 50 miles apart - they totally warned the public (convicted murderer the former Colonel Russell Williams) - the minute they made the connection.

Jacqueline's case MAY not be related to the heinous murders of Libby and Abby.
But, I would bet my very last dollar that 🤬🤬🤬 is 100% involved in other crimes, and is, quite possibly, a serial killer.

JMO

I just don't understand how this happened in daylight without anyone hearing this?

<modsnip>

I can see her slipping in the river if it was dark but when it was daylight?...sounds kinda suspicious to me.

  • #117
Agree with above. It doesn't seem plausible to me that she fell in the river. She had a plane to catch with her husband.

Bloody man? This case. It was more of that SM rumor garbage. I don't use SM for any crime stuff. Too many losers starting and perpetuating rumors, lies ETC.

Not according to the post #132 above...it sounds like a different case
