RUSHVILLE – The Rush County Sheriff’s Department continues to actively investigate the disappearance of Valerie Tindall, 17, who is described as a white female approximately 5’ 6” tall weighing roughly 160 pounds.

She is believed to be in extreme danger, according to information provided by the RCSD on Thursday.

Tindall was last seen at approximately noon on Wednesday, June 7. She was last known to be operating a green 2000 Honda Accord with Indiana license plate number ZYK833.

When she left her residence she was wearing a light blue shirt, jean shorts and sandals.

“We are asking for the public’s assistance in attempting to locate Valerie and her vehicle,” a DCSD news release states.

Property owners between Shelbyville and the Homer/Arlington areas that have deep creek beds, low level fields, ravines and properties off public roadways are asked to check to make sure Tindall’s vehicle isn’t out of site. Barns and other buildings are also possible locations to check.

Also, motorists traveling in the area mentioned are asked to keep an eye out for the missing vehicle, especially for signs of a vehicle leaving the roadway and coming to a stop somewhere not easily seen.

Anyone with information about Tindall’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Rush County Sheriff’s Department at 765-932-2931 or the law enforcement agency serving your area.

It should be noted the photo accompanying this story does not show Tindall wearing glasses; it is believed she was doing so at the time she disappeared.

"We do not have a single lead."

There is a lot of new information in this article. It doesn't sound good.

ARLINGTON, Ind. — The search continues for missing 17-year-old Valerie Tindall as police descend upon the property of an Arlington man who already has been charged with false informing in connection to the missing persons case.

On Tuesday, federal agents joined local police in searching Patrick Scott’s property in Arlington. This isn’t the first time police have searched Scott’s property in connection with Valerie’s disappearance. Previously, authorities searched a pond located on the Arlington man’s property.

According to court documents and Valerie’s family, the 17-year-old worked for Scott mowing lawns in the summer and lived next to the man. Police said Valerie was reportedly seen with Scott the day she disappeared and that Scott was reportedly seen driving Valerie’s car.

Tindall’s mother, Shena Sanders, says she’s both devastated and confused.

“We just want answers as to why. Her and Scott had a bond. They were friends or so we thought. She also hung out with his family and so did we. I mean we all just went places together,” said Sanders on Wednesday.

Sanders said Tindall would often do work for Scott and she remembers when she found out that Tindall was added onto Scott’s mobile phone plan.

“She said he just added me on it with his family because they’re all on it. I told her, ‘But you’re not his kids or his wife or his family. He shouldn’t be tracking his family anyway. It’s not normal to me,” said Sanders.

Rest peacefully Valerie. I pray for comfort for her mom - what a horrible thing, to know that she was so close to home this whole time. It sounds like her parents suspected this man from the beginning. Sounds like he was trying to groom her - and she likely resisted! So very sad!

The search for Tindall came to a tragic end this week. The Rush County Sheriff’s Department confirmed on Wednesday that human remains were found hidden inside a barrel on the property of Tindall’s neighbor, 59-year-old Patrick Scott.

While I know not every murder means the person has murdered before, and while I find this guys attempts to cover his tracks very sloppy, I sure hope they look really good into this guy's history and any other possible victims of crimes by him. It sure does look like this girl was being groomed by him. Rest in Paradise Valerie.
