Al-Shifa doctor says 'not a single militant' inside hospital
There is not a "single militant" inside Al-Shifa, the hospital's head of surgery has told the BBC.Israel has previously accused Hamas of operating an underground command centre beneath the site of Gaza's largest hospital, which Hamas denies.
Asked whether Hamas was operating inside Al-Shifa, Dr Marwan Abu Saada calls the allegation a "big lie".
In recent days the area around Al-Shifa in northern Gaza has experienced heavy fighting, with Israel being accused of attacking the hospital directly.
The Israeli military says it is operating in the area of the hospital, but denies attacking the facility.

I'm not sure if or how many hostages are alive, sadly.
They are allowing infants to die, rather than evacuate to keep a human shield. I can see the fury of demands for fuel not being met, having an impact on hostages.

Israel's president denies it is striking Gaza's Al-Shifa hospital
Reports from staff at Al-Shifa suggest the facility, sheltering thousands of Palestinians, has run out of electricity.But Mr Herzog said "everything is operating" at the hospital.

WHO chief Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus later said that contact has been restored but warned of "dire" conditions inside. He repeated calls for a ceasefire and said the hospital has been without electricity and water for three days.
Doctors and the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza have said a lack of fuel there means patients cannot be operated on and incubators for premature babies cannot run. But the president disputed this.
"We deny this at all, there is a lot of spin by Hamas... but there's electricity in Shifa, everything is operating," Mr Herzog said.
Israel has said that Hamas has a base underneath the hospital building - a claim denied by Hamas.
"We of course listen to our allies, but first and foremost, we defend ourselves," he said.
He acknowledged that there had been civilian deaths in Gaza but blamed Hamas for many of the tragedies.
Mr Herzog said his country's operations in Gaza were carried out "according to the rules of international humanitarian law", with Israel alerting civilians with phone calls and text messages, and urging them to evacuate from northern Gaza and "go down [to southern Gaza]".

More will come IMO..regional war and hopefully it stays there. But there will still be American casualties if escalation continues. We have thousands of troops in the mid east.

None of the operating rooms at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza are functioning due to lack of electricity, the medical center's director told Al-Araby TV on Sunday.
"The operating rooms are completely out of service, and now the wounded come to us and we cannot give them anything other than first aid,” Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya said.
“Whoever needs surgery dies, and we cannot do anything for him.”
The hospital director said staff were trying to keep premature babies at the hospital alive after oxygen ran out and they had to be moved from the neonatal unit’s incubators.
“I was with them a while ago. They are now exposed, because we have taken them out of the incubators. We wrap them in foil and put hot water next to them so that we can warm them,” Abu Salmiya said.
The doctor said several children have died while in the intensive care unit and the nursery over the last day.

Ohad and Raz Ben-Ami, 57 and 55, were taken captive by Hamas from their home in Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7, as the terrorist group slaughtered, committed atrocities and kidnapped residents.
One of their three daughters, Ela, was also on Be’eri and survived.
She had been in touch with her father on Whatsapp that morning, until the moment when he was kidnapped, around 10 a.m.
Ohad’s last Whatsapp said, “Shma Yisrael, they’re here,” citing the foundational Jewish prayer.
He then gave her instructions about his will.

It would be foolish of them to murder their bargaining chips until they have no hope of surviving the assault. But I doubt all the hostages are held in the same place, and I would imagine young ones would be farmed out to people in various apartments or houses so they could have been bombed. Just a guess.

That is true.
No one does, not even the IDF who have provided humanitarian pauses, probably at risk to themselves as it gives Hamas time to relocate their weaponry, and their killers.
But just think .. doctors don't get to their level of career and expertise -- unless they're fairly intelligent and aware of their surroundings and what's going on at their professional level, especially at their place of occupation, which in this case is the hospital.
Not to mention doctors would 'rub shoulders', so to speak, with some of the authority figures within the city.
Which in this case is the rulers they themselves elected, aka Hamas.
This Dr. Saada (Idk his age) may be a mouthpiece for Hamas.

Think how risky it would be to have someone who may be parroting Hamas' statements, to be treating you or your loved one !

I don't think any of them at all will survive unless Israel takes action. If HAMAS wanted to release them, they would. If they wanted to share an update on their condition they would have done it. If Israel doesn't keep pushing on, then I don't think they will get a single hostage back alive.

I'd be surprised if the good doctor had time to take a break with all the carnage he is dealing with, not to forget the skimpy supplies. But, whatever you want to believe is your choice. I just know that hospital is in chaos
