'Ten members of a single family have been missing since Hamas assaulted the Be’eri kibbutz early on 7 October. Lilach Kipnis, 60, and her husband, Eviatar, 65, were taking refuge in the shelter of their home when their relatives last heard from them. Eight other family members are also missing from the kibbutz: Lilach’s sister Shoshan Haran, the founder of an agricultural NGO; her husband, Avshalom Haran; their daughter Adi Shoham; her partner, Tal Shoham; their two children, Naveh and Yahel Shoham, who are eight and three; Avshalom’s sister Sharon Avigdori; and her daughter Noam Avigdori. Paul Vincent Castelvi, a Filipino carer who looked after Eviatar – who has an auto-immune condition – is one of three caregivers from the Philippines to have been killed.'

Ok this is troubling. According to this video, The Butcher/Sinwar is really tight with Egypt.

Yeah…I’m thinking The Butcher/SINWAR is possibly in Egypt, jmo.

I think the media keeps saying he’s in Gaza.

I bet he’s in Egypt.

(That’s my final theory of the night/morning, and with that, I think I’ll sign out after 19 hours straight and attempt to get some sleep LOL!)

IDF says Gazan rockets misfiring with increasing frequency

The Israel Defense Forces says it has seen an uptick in failed rocket launches from the Gaza Strip by the Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror groups.

The military publishes a graph claiming that yesterday, 12.71% of rockets launched from Gaza fell short in the Strip.

It also attaches a map showing the approximate impact locations of the failed rockets.

The IDF has said some 450 rockets have failed and fallen short in Gaza since the fighting began on October 7. Thousands more have made it across the border into Israel.

The military also accuses Hamas and Islamic Jihad of launching their rockets from urban areas, including “hospitals, UN schools, mosques, restaurants, diplomatic buildings, and hotels.”

“The Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations fire rockets indiscriminately at Israeli civilians, these rockets have also been causing harm to civilians in the Gaza Strip,” the IDF says.

Noting the apparent increase in failed rockets yesterday, the IDF says “Hamas is continuing to use the residents of the Gaza Strip as human shields, and does not hesitate to risk the lives of Gazan civilians to shield their attacks.”

Thoughts? anybody?

Do the deaths at the hospital change the calculus for Israels' offensive?

Secondly, has it also made Iran's proxies more likely to get more involved?

Regardless of the facts, the region is now red-hot ( protests over night at various locations as we've seen & several ME leaders not waiting for facts & attributing blame) Also, nations more friendly to Israel - like UAE - calling for a ceasefire
Oh yes.

It doesn't matter who caused the blast.

Gaza should just become it's own country.
I'm thinking Israel would agree.

Unfortunately, Hamas wants all of Israel.

Maybe if they can get Hamas out of the picture, maybe they should let Gaza be their own country.

They would actually need to govern.
  • Currently and in the past decades it has been a dangerous place.
  • Sounds like they are a financial drain on Israel.

Did Israel think it could control terrorism better by holding onto Gaza?
I see no advantage for Israel to keep Gaza.
  • Terrorism is not under control
  • Gaza would need to self govern
  • If Gaza became it's own country, terrorism would still exist, but look at the situation now?

I know this is not direct answer to your question, but I just woke up and that is what I've been thinking.
It's also just MOO...Many here may disagree with me....

"Attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip.

The perpetrator is not obvious here.

Photos of the hospital parking lot have just appeared, showing the scale of destruction, but their characteristics are very different from those left behind by aircraft bombs or missiles used by Israel.
1697632263619.png

Judging by the relatively minor damage in the form of burned cars and the relatively intact surface of the parking lot and surrounding fences, it appears that the perpetrator was not a bomb or a high-explosive missile warhead, but a faulty Kassam missile.
It is possible that rocket fuel ignited and caused a fire.

- This is what could have exploded on the grounds of a hospital in the Gaza Strip -

Hamas fighters operating from the Gaza Strip use up to thousands of very makeshift Qassam rockets built from local scrap to fire into Israeli territory .
These are rockets of different sizes.

The most common are those with a range of 2-3 km, made of sewage pipes with welded ballasts, which are filled with any explosive and rocket fuel (there are also cases of using a mixture of potassium nitrate and powdered sugar).

An identical concept applies to rockets with a longer range such as Badr-3, estimated at up to several dozen kilometers, which simply use thicker bodies that can hold more rocket fuel and explosives, and are launched from improvised launchers.
The Badr-3 is able to carry up to 400 kg of explosives.

It is quite possible that Hamas tried to launch such a rocket from the hospital parking lot. They are capable of doing this, taking into account historical data available, for example, in NATO StratCom reports .

Alternatively, rocket debris in the form of, for example, a rocket engine fell in this place.

It is worth noting that at the same time, nearby cameras observed a series of Qassam missile launches towards Israel.

Rockets of this type have very low accuracy, but pose a serious threat to large targets such as power plants or even entire residential districts if used en masse.

Simply put, the larger the salvo, the more likely it is to cause greater and uncontrollable damage because one of them hits something.

Defending against volleys of several hundred such missiles is not an easy or cheap task, because one interception of such a garage structure costs up to 80,000 - 100,000. dollars
(the cost of a pair of Tamir anti-missiles),
and the Iron Dome system launchers have a limited capacity."

President Biden is probably wishing he stayed in Crete.
He had to go.
Whether he wanted to or not.
He needed to show support for Israel.

There is also political calculus involved.
Will this make things worse?
  • In the short run, likely.
  • It's enraging Arabs that the US (the most powerful country in the world) is supplying military assistance to Israel.
  • To the best of my knowledge, US has never suppled military assistance to Israel in their conflicts with the Palestinians. (This is a first..MOO)
  • This is a big deal, if you are an Israeli or if you are a Palestinian

You can take me for what I'm worth, but 35 years in to munitions and explosives day-to-day as my military career path, I just can't. This was a failed rocket fired from within Gaza that tragicly ended up coming down into an area immediately outside of a hospital. Tragic. Plenty of OSINT sources posted in here of footage etc already. The answer is obvious if you know what you're looking for - truth be damned.

Waiting for all the usual official suspects/apologists to man-up and apologize for the heinous accustaions made against Israel. (ey BBC, UN, heads of nations that should know better [and some do know better, but it doesn't suit their agendas/ideology] etc!!).

Waiting for the never-coming calling out of the elephant in the room.

I won't hold my breath.

Following Terrorist Attack on Israel, Treasury Sanctions Hamas Operatives and Financial Facilitators

WASHINGTON — Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed sanctions on ten key Hamas terrorist group members, operatives, and financial facilitators in Gaza and elsewhere including Sudan, Türkiye, Algeria, and Qatar. This action targets members managing assets in a secret Hamas investment portfolio, a Qatar-based financial facilitator with close ties to the Iranian regime, a key Hamas commander, and a Gaza-based virtual currency exchange and its operator. Today’s designations are part of a continuous effort by the United States to root out Hamas’s sources of revenue in the West Bank and Gaza and across the region and is taken in close coordination with regional partners and allies. To date, Treasury has targeted nearly 1,000 individuals and entities connected to terrorism and terrorist financing by the Iranian regime and its proxies, including Hamas, Hizballah, and other Iran-aligned terrorist groups in the region.

That's because it's Israel and the big, bad west.

They are pretty silent on the nations neighbouring Israel and Iran being state sponsors of terror and Hamas though. For them it's all about having 'an enemy' in common.
