Kirk Nurmi has, IMO, sunk even lower than Jose Baez did. This is a defense born of desperation. How many times did he argue with the judge today? Juan had to remind the judge that he stated the objection, and she makes the decision? Juan objects and Nurmi objects to the objection? He needs to go back to law 101, and the judge needs to grow a set MOO.

I try not to be a bitter person, but I hope this comes back to bite Nurmi in the butt. He decided this defense, he's leading it (obviously), and he will have to own it. The perv perpetrators will love him. :yuck:

NO ONE is lower than Jose Baez. Remember, Nurmi asked to get off this case. He did not want it at all. He is stuck and yes, he is part of trying to trash Travis. I don't like him for that but he is trying to defend her. Jose knew all along what he was doing and he saw Casey as a cash cow. He is disgusting.

Presumably this May 10 phone recording was made in the early morning hours -- Travis was obviously very tired and going to sleep.

Later on that same day, Travis sent this text message to Jodi:

"Why don't you have him come and **** you in the woods, I can only imagine you are so worried about me reading. You are paranoid because you have no respect for people privacy and you dare insult me of all people. Someone you should (showed?) through your actions you hate more than love by denying me a human right of privacy countless times. You have a lot of freaking nerve. We are all not like you in that aspect"

When reading this, after hearing the recording, it all makes sense. He found out she violated his privacy once again and she must have said something really horrible to him. So that is why he told her what he did in that first sentence.

I think this is not only viable but a lot of folks have already posted this theory so its not an unpopular consideration.

I think it was a multi-tiered agenda. I think the tapes were most certainly blackmail and I think she was going to send them to Travis's new GF. Seriously, that's my #1 inclination. I think [at that time] Jodi was more hellbent on sabotaging his relationship with "the other woman" than anything else, and that consumed her. This is a pattern of hers and we've seen her do her most erratic things when it came to her fixation on going after the female competitors in her men's lives.

Then I think te tapes morphed into an ulterior agenda as she became more consumed by her rage.

ITA - I was curious to hear the 12 year old girl comment, and to me it was so ridiculous that the defense would try to turn it into something sick. I really think all Travis meant by that comment was that JA sounded innocent and virgin-like when she moaned and it turned him on. I don't think he meant ANYTHING else. You could hear in his voice when she asked him to repeat it that he wasn't really sure he was using the right words - there was hesitation. The defense really blew it by playing that tape, big time.

I so agree! I still have the same girlfriends I had from Jr. High. That's many many many moons ago. I believe JA is not the type of female who can have/keep girlfriends. Or male friends either. I'm still friends with a few males from high school, one very good male friend I met at the school bus stop when I was 5 years old, he was 7. LOL so when I heard JA's said Travis was cheating because he had numbers in his phone belonging to females, I thought OH BOY!!!!
