On the tire slashing, that is usually accomplished with a simple puncture to the sidewall. Little strength is required, especially if the blade is sharp. Though puncture to/through the tread portion of a tire can be inexpensively repaired, sidewall damage cannot.
TA had to replace his tires once JA engaged in her "psycho behaviors", as she phrased it on the stand last week, IIRC.
You know if a man had done this to a woman she would have known there was more violence coming and that she was being stalked. If a man came into a woman's home through her doggie door, she would know her safety was in danger and more was coming. Men need to be educated about impending danger from ex-lovers and how to keep themselves safe just as women are in my opinion. They think they are safe because in general society still paints women as victims and men as aggressors. Female on male violence in relationships is unreported and not discussed because men don't discuss it - they may call a woman a 'bunny boiler' for instance, but I doubt many men in that situation actually fear for their safety, in my experience they tend to make a joke of the whole situation instead.
Men I know who have been assaulted by women inside relationships (my DH included) will, once the BIG assault happens, go back and review the past and analyse the pattern, and see the control, the isolating, the blaming etc .. but until something happens that clearly shows that she is dangerous to HIM they just think that the two of them have bad fights that turn ugly, and that he is a full participant in that happening.
