This is my first post here on WS, the absolutely best site to ponder the crimes that fascinate us~ I've been watching you guys for years, and am amazed how many details you sleuthers uncover!

StephanieHartPI - you rock. ITA, fab. connections you have drawn between the interrogation vid. and the evidence. She is obviously not THAT smart, or she would be better at keeping her stories straight. Blowing out the engine on a Beemer shows she has zero common sense. Who does that?!

I think with her pathology, she must draw from movies, news, other people's stories, and weave them around a small percentage of truth. If there was no truth at all, she couldn't keep anything straight! It's almost like the modicum of truth serves as her rudder. Endlessly fascinating...

ITA. I am in the minority, but I think TA was a real d-bag to the women he dated (hence his comments about the women he wanted, not wanting him).

Difference is, a rational person breaks up with a jerk. She doesn't murder him.

I would be furious if someone were outwardly a perfect innocent Mormon, but wanted to have anal sex with me all the time and tie me to a tree and threw candy at me and left after oral sex. But yes, my reaction would be to tell him to go eff himself and then I would leave him. He was slimy, IMO, but in no way deserved what he got.

LOL well you don't have to be! I work in a mental health unit...skin checks are just lovely wonderful things to be done daily and we always have to be on the look out for things like that. In a bra and in hair (like in a bun or some sort of hairdo) are great places to hide them.

I bet you have some GREAT stories!!!

INTERESTING: I'm watching Wendy Williams (don't judge me!! LOL) and she just said David Beckham has the voice of a 12 year old girl. Did ya catch that, "12 year old girl"?!? It's probably a coinky dink, but the way it just rolled off her tongue made me think it just rolled off TA's tongue. I don't think there's hidden meaning to that phrase at all. I think he just said something without thinking about it and JA had to pick it apart until she's painted the ugliest picture possible. Sinful.

RE: your question about the grandparents, she did say if they were asleep she'd sneak him in for a ___ fest! I don't consider that an attack on their character (like she attacked everyone else) BUT i do think that shows lack of consideration and respect!!! And let's not forget she stole from them as well.

Thank you for saying this. I really think Travis gets an unfair deal for the broadcasting of his private sexual proclivities. All of these encounters were consensual and even if you don't care for them if you found out they were between a married couple (and they do) you would think differently about them.

I mean imagine if you had your own most private thoughts and fantasies, sexual and otherwise aired to world?

I wouldn't call "I want to tie you to a tree and put it in your a-hole" sweet.

And it isn't the imperfect Mormon part that bugs me, it is pretending to be perfect on the outside. I'd rather people are honest about their imperfections. I'm just particularly sensitive to falsely religious people though since my stepdad is a total con man psychopath who is ALSO a preacher.

Anyway, I'm not trying to Travis-bash. Overall he seemed like a decent guy, who had immature relationships. He didn't in any way deserve what Jodi did to him.

Jodi may have fantasized about how the murder would go down, but it clearly did not happen the way she thought it would. Her plan only took into account a singular linear vision and it failed on so many levels. Had she stopped to think "who will the police suspect based on who was in TA's life?" she would have realized she would be high on the list and not even go there to murder him. Of course that implies some self awareness and as we can see she has very little, if any.

Probably right Madeleine. It did not go as she figured it would. Travis went down the hall. Way too much blood to try and clean up. It was after 5:30 and one roommate typically gets home between 6 and 6:30. No time for cleaning or staging a robbery scene. The body cannot be moved.

I'll make an excuse for my speculations before I begin by saying that I'm new to posting but very happy to find such interesting and respectful discussions here -- thank you for existing!!

In thread 37 Quester asked if it might be the case that JA intended TA's murder to look like a suicide. This had never crossed my mind and it strikes me as a brilliant theory! The violence of the murder is horrendous but somehow doesn't seem to fit with her "personality" unless we allow for a rage response, which is entirely possible. But everything she does, even the madness of taking the stand and never shutting up!, seems to come from her need to control her image. She is happiest when she can present TA as wildly jealous of all the attention she gets from men. And when she can characterize another woman as jealous of her. She loves her picture of herself and TA only as he enhances that picture, not just between them but in the world.
If TA had died by one bullet to the right temple, and if there had been a note (her abilities as a forger seem quite good) offering up his obsessional love for a woman he should not love and the unbearable dilemma of that, she would have created quite a figure of romance for herself. Just punishing TA for not loving her would never be enough.

Great idea, makes total sense.
