John and the Basement Window

And you mentioned when you went down in the morning, the 26 and it was unlatched, did that strike you as odd or did you bring that to anybody’s attention?
JR: I, I don’t know. I mean when I was, I think, yeah, I think it probably struck me as a little odd, but it wasn’t, I mean sometimes that window would be open because the basement got hot, or one of those windows would be opened.

I find John's statement about the basement window sometimes being open because it gets hot down there, doesn't make sense. First of all, heat rises and secondly, that basement is underground, which would make it much cooler than the rest of the home. I know our basement is a haven on a hot, muggy summer day as it's quite a bit cooler down there. Even in the winter, with the furnace running, it's chilly.

Right you are bella. When I lived in California (during the Punic Wars), the heat was incredible and we had two rooms underground and they were fantastically cool. It was great to sleep there.

when she talks about it..(the same way she did when she said she had 'flashbacks of JB screaming'),it sounds like she's stepped outside of herself,as if she had no control over what she did...she was the 'outsider' looking in,watching events unfold bet. JB and herself.I really think she lost it that night.

You are right. She does not exactly mention when John Screamed. So she could have been referring to during the night. But I think her lawyers would have said she meant when John found her. These two are sooooooooo guilty.

What would it matter if the basement was like a sauna though...they didn't LIVE in the basement.
John Ramsey stated in one of his interviews that sometimes they'd have to open up one or more of the basement windows when the kids played down there because it got so hot down there. I googled "Does steam heat cause a basement to get hot?" and came up with the result I posted. According to adam w, it does.

I would think that would set the stage for mold growth as well...humidity + heat...as I think it was said the WC had mold growth, and as such...that would be hard to just 'sweep away' as Smit suggested to JR..the hi-tech print had obv. been there for awhile.(unless the R's would prefer to admit BR had a pair of those).
