I'm following the price reductions avidly. It's a sure sign the book will bomb.

I recall that when Jeff Ashton announced his book, he was all over the media and answering quistions with material from the book... LOT'S of material. I pre-ordered it so I would get a first edition! My book arrived late and damaged and my main fear about returning it was that I would end up with a second edition. I lucked out on that on! I have a perfect first edition which I read carefully and will do so once more, at least.

I'm beginning to wonder if Baez will end up buying a bunch of books and cart them around in the trunk of his car to sell for $3.95 to any and all takers.

Amazon.com has it listed for $14.99 now while Jeff Ashton's book, 7 months later, is selling for $17.95.

I did not realize until just a bit ago that HLN added more video clips after the show finished airing last night on the Dr. D HLN site(can I say that?). There's only 3 more viewer calls, but they are pretty good ones .

So, now JB is saying since he worked so long on this case, when his book sells, it's going to amount to about $8.00 an hour that'll he'll be making-This was in answer to the last call of where is the money from the book sales going-Charity? FCA? Him? He said it is going to him - and so there it is.

JB: 100% my OS was ethical. I had 26 bar complaints during this trail, each and everyone was investigated throughly. From the start I hired an ethics attorney, mentions the two Dr depos. (Hey JB, you pulled the DR's remember?)

JB: Putting OCA on stand - we did not think we had to put her on stand. Case was tried a certain way. Closing argument, defendant does not have to prove anything. If you dont like it - you can try to change it, but I dont suggest you try. (WTF?)

On whether OCA and the A's are speaking? JB: I've tried to take on other cases, I've opened up another office, not my place to comment on whether OCA and her family are speaking now - I've moved on.

IMO - The whole hour was a fail - a complete fail.

JB needs to work with a PR team and practice taking and answering questions. He did not in anyway leave me with a need to read his book - which is what he was supposed to do. But I bet he has an idea that its not going to be well received.

A HUGE obstacle for him is that he is now dealing with a buying public that knows the facts of this case, and he did not seem to be able to deal well with the callers who asked about what HE said and did during the investigation and trial. He can't re write history.

Did he say WHY he felt the need to hire an ethics attorney?
I did remember he contacted the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and Richard Hornsby was either President or Vice President at the time.

Jose Baez's "book" is now at bargain basement price of $14.55 at B&N. I don't think I've seen a pre-lease go down in price so fast, ever.

It's incredible how badly this book is selling. They won't even be able to give it away at this rate.

JB said a defense lawyer can do whatever to help the defendant when they are fighting for their LIFE. Ahhhh what about a not yet 3 yr. old baby who didn't have a chance to fight for anything. Shouldn't he fight for justice and work toward no death penalty.
What a sorry defender he is. Just he and KC and $$$$$$ is all that matters to him.
Thank heaven for JA, LDB, FG. They fought for the justice for that baby's life.
I am proud of them. JB is nothing compared to the compassion the prosecutors had for that beautiful, helpless baby.

Talk about a sleazy attorney, JB said one of the first things he did was hire an ethics attorney. Now what honest attorney would ever think about needing to do that? That tells me that he knew sooner or later he could be crossing that line. Probably this was done as soon as he met FCA and heard her BS or when they first thought about trying to sell the pictures.

:giggle: I suspect he won't be able to give them away...No one wants his garbage talk...he's a liar just like his client is, is my belief...He couldn't even write proper motions, he had to be schooled along the way..

I still feel there was a 'stealth' juror on that panel...as they announced the jury has reached a verdict, he and his client were too happy, as if they knew the outcome of that verdict..

I don't know WHY His Honor did not call a mistrial once he did his OS...:maddening: He allowed a murderer to go free as well as those idiotic Pinellas 12...who did NOT do their due diligence...

Although Baez told HLN’s Dr. Drew Monday night that Anthony will not financially benefit from the book, he did say it will shock readers on what they didn’t know about the case.

“There were certain pieces of evidence that never made it to trial -- never made it into discovery -- that I think were significant,” he said. “For various reasons, we didn't present certain things. And for various reasons, a lot was not made public. I think this is the first time … they're going to be able to read this book and get a completely different perspective as well as information that they just didn't know.”

Baez later told Dr. Drew what bothered him most about the trial.

“I realize for the general public who's not involved in the legal system -- they look at this case -- [and] look at her behavior [and presumed she’s guilty],” he explained.. “This case was never about Casey's behavior. It was about how Caylee died.”

He added, “We would have never had the opportunity to put on our defense if that behavior was not made relevant. Let me be more specific -- June 16 -- Caylee died. So what happened after that is really irrelevant … unless there is someone fleeing or consciousness of guilt … [everything else] is irrelevant.”
Dr. Drew interjected, “The one thing we know about Casey – [she’s a] liar. That’s the only thing we know for sure about her.”

And again, he's not truthful...then why did it take 3 years to come up with that defense of an alleged drowning? Still, if Caylee drowned, one call to 911 is all that was needed to do...Instead she hides from her mother for 31 days while on the stripper pole, grinding away...her outrageous lies, her uncaring attitude towards an allegedly missing child, her child..

So, why did he drag this out for three years if in fact Caylee drowned..and if Caylee drowned why was she found triple bagged in swamp with duct tape over her airways...EX INMATE will always been known as the mother who got away with murder...she'd have been better off convicted for she is still in a prison while free...she can't get work, she can't go out and play, she is confined to whatever home she's able to mooch off...I still await karma to catch this beast and it should come back three fold to her...I dislike this woman, her family, her former attorney..they should all go to .....:jail:

How does this get said and not challenged. She was trying to get to California. She essentially moved out of her house and away from people who would ask where Caylee was. How is that not fleeing? She lied about Caylees whereabouts. She faked phone calls from Caylee! Is that not consciousness of guilt? I'm so sick of these Dr. entertainer wannabees.

OK. I hope I don’t shock you all too much with what I am about to say...but here goes. As you know, I have been a staunch hater of all things JB and FCA for almost 4 years now. I removed myself from posting for a good while after the horrendous travesty know as the “not guilty” verdict by the PinellasPinheads.

I watched JB last night, after vowing I would NOT, as I had delegated my DD to do the dirty deed and tell me about it. But alas, we both sat and watched it like a train wreck that couldn’t be passed up. The oddest thing happened. I didn’t feel hatred for him like I thought I would. My DD and I looked at each other and almost at the same time said.....”I don’t hate him”.

JB affirmed what I had said all along about the defense theory. It was a theory put together from all of the pieces and parts of the 3 year long investigation. He and team put together (concocted) a “story” that fit the evidence presented....a story that MOST people with two brain cells to rub together could see through. He managed to pull off the biggest upset in courtroom history, since OJ. By hook, crook or dumb luck...he did it. That was his job...and he did it. And love it or hate it, that is the job of a defense lawyer. That’s our justice system. I also think he has been to “smarmy school” because somehow, he didn’t smirk or act cocky....or show the behavior he exhibited throughout the trial that made me hate him so. So.....I will give him his due.

I also think he believes (knows) she did it. But his job as her defense attorney was not to “hold her accountable” for that. His job was to save her life. And that he did.

WITH THAT SAID....I will forever hold the accountability of the death of a beautiful young innocent child with CASEY ANTHONY. I will forever hold accountable the 12 jurors who were too lazy, inept and selfish to do THEIR JOB. I will forever believe that GA and CA aided in the “defense story” in the end. It was obvious at trial. It is obvious now. CA is still with GA. If she thought for ONE MOMENT GA had abused Casey, or killed Caylee, GA would not be walking around alive today. It was obvious that JB and Co. took the bizarre behavior of this obviously dysfunctional family and used it to their advantage.

As my daughter pointed out in the first few minutes of the program last night, it was Casey’s bizarre behavior that gave them their defense. If none of the “circus” antics that took place for 3 years had ever happened, and the focus had only been on June 16 - the date Caylee died, perhaps without all of the obfuscation a clear picture of those events could have been presented. But instead, the waters were muddied, and that mud was used to Casey’s advantage. How DO you explain her behavior??? You can’t. Psychiatrists couldn’t. So what do you do? You make up a story that “excuses” that bizarre behavior, proven by the behavior of the parents for 3 years.

I have a lot more to say....but I won’t!!! Love to all my WS friends.

He is a DEFENSE ATTORNEY! That means he knows many of his clients are guilty as sin, if the crime is so heinous they can't deal with it they don't take the case. Otherwise they DEFEND TO THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITIES as that is their purpose/job.

This Casey Anthony case has become an archetype which is why people are so obsessed over it. For gosh sakes yes, the kid was probably killed, but there is NO EVIDENCE NOR REASON TO BELIEVE SHE WAS tortured or abused. There is NO EVIDENCE that Casey was cruel or sadistic towards her child.

How many young kids/babies are tortured and abused horrendously because they are the offspring of twisted parents? A LOT! Yet this case strikes a nerve and gets all of the attention.

Good points, but I have to disagree. Duct tape around a baby's face is toture & abuse in my eyes. Sure, some believe it was placed there after. I don't believe that, nor does someone I consider very wise & knowledgable in this area.... Dr G This is all jmho

Ermmmm - was that the photoshopped picture that made her appear much taller as she stretched towards the door handle, than she actually was that you are talking about?:maddening: Uh huh - that was his "proof" that Caylee could open that sliding door.

I thought one of his most ridiculous statements was the one he made when LE was first interviewing her before she was charged. He and Dr. Drew were talking about mental conditions so Baez said it should have been obvious FCA was not the common type of person who committed crimes - not a hardened criminal or a drug addict - so they should have found a counsellor to talk to this young complulsive liar, cheque fraud and child murdering person. Right.....uh Baez? She had a psychological assessment when she was charged - remember???
