Kaine attends 3 hours of meetings at sheriff's office

HE didn't go although home from work early at 1:45ish, then walk to the bus around 3:30. That's all we know.

I should think we'd have heard of that by now, unless it is one of those details LE has hidden. But, from interviews and such, I'd say KH was not at the fair, nor had he planned on being there.

I would find it a concern if Kaine was not there to support Kyron at the fair.

I would be really surprised if the 3 hour meeting with LE was why Kaine didn't attend the science fair. MOO

Yes, it's probably about the RO hearing tomorrow. Or something about the investigation. I am appalled that some people are making a giant leap to something dark and sinister here because he wasn't crying and depressed on the way out. I swear, I think it would be like Christmas morning for some people if LE came out at the next presser and said KH is a suspect. The eagerness to pin this on him is incredible. I really wish LE would come out and say his timeline has been confirmed and he couldn't have done this, which is my gut feeling anyway. I believe in a stranger taking Kyron more than I believe that KH did anything to him. I don't believe he would destroy his own marriage and life and kill his son. For what reason? What could possibly be his motive? Let's use reason and common sense here. Unless LE comes out and says he's a suspect or that he did this, there shouldn't be wild speculation about him just because he met with the police for three hours, or had a facial expression that only accounts for what, seconds of time? Maybe he's trying be hopeful, we just don't know!

I've never really heard of any kind of meeting with LE before a RO hearing. Why would there be a meeting with law enforcement over this domestic/family court matter? Three hours is longer than the hearing will take. The meeting had to do with K's disappearance, IMO. Why would LE be involved in a restraining order, I've been to RO hearings and had friends involved in ROs and they were court matters.
To me, odd.

IMO People tend to feel more comfortable blaming males for crimes against children. I tend to believe that either sex can offend any offense.

Three hours at the LE office is pretty reasonable from my point of view at this time - I would have at least 3 hours of questions for the team if I were in KH's shoes.

Maybe he had to work? I know I have missed things for my stepdaughter because I couldn't take time off of work. Not everyone has the luxury of being present for everything their kids do. In this economy, making ends meet sometimes means you can't go to kid's game or play or science fair. That's just how hard life is, unless a person is a stay at home person who doesn't work and has time to go see their kid's events all of the time. And with TH not working, that means KH has to solely bring home the bacon and keep a roof over his family's head, food in their mouths, etc. He has to work, and so he probably had to miss the science fair. It's not like he hadn't already seen the project at home before the fair anyway.

I wonder if Kaine actually went to the school to see Kyrons project. I haven't heard confirmation if he attended at all...anyone know?

My husband and I would never miss going to the yearly school science fair's for our 2 boys. It was a real BIG deal to us and the boys.

BBM. I don't want to put a price tag on it, but this is a MAJOR question that I have had since day one of this case. I have wondered from the get-go if Kaine and/or other family members visited the science fair at Skyline School on June 4 to see Kyron's exhibit. jmo

my guess the meeting was to explain to him why they focused on terri and why they are now going to focus away from her/and any accomplice theory. i think they shook the terri tree and nothing came out.

My parents never went to anything I did at school. They saw my projects and such at home, and took an interest that way, but never had the time/inclination to go to the school. The only thing my dad has ever seen of mine that is school related was my high school graduation.

I don't hold any grudges - I didn't really mind that they had other things to do, and it certainly hasn't harmed my educational development. There are many, many other ways to be an accessible and supportive parent than going to school functions and endure the PTA crew.

I mean, it's nice to go if you can, but there are so many things at schools it isn't (always) possible to cover them all. (Even if you really want to.)

ETA: I should also say in my parents' defence, I was in theatre, two bands, choral soc, science club and forensics/debating... They would have spent a ton of time out of their productive years just sitting in uncomfortable chairs watching me do my various things. As it was, it was nice of them to spend their time trying to feed and house me, KWIM? :)

ETA2: Sorry for O/T.

Maybe they even gave him hope.

They held a "meeting" with the Cummings/Croslin's too. Just because Kyron does not have a huge family doesn't mean this had to be an interrogation. For all we know, other officers went down to Medford and met with Desiree and Tony down there if they were unable to come up.

Maybe they called him in to listen to a video taped phone call from an "accomplice" where a child's voice is heard. Maybe he spent 3 hours listening to it repeatedly and telling them for sure it was Kyron. Maybe he found out for sure in that meeting that his child is alive. Maybe they told him that they are prepared to make an arrest and also feel that they know how to find Kyron. I would expect him to leave looking a bit happier and confident if that were the case. I would also expect him to not answer a single question for fear of jeopardizing his safety.

We just have no idea...

Like some decided Terri was guilty right out of the gate, based upon her FB ?

Maybe because it was following the information LE gave Kaine that he even SOUGHT the order??

In this taped interview, he doesn't specifically state he didn't attend, but it's implied:

Right at the beginning, around :20.

Why? Kaine had to work. As much as he may want to go to everything Kyron had on at school I doubt he would get the time off to go to everything and in all honesty he had seen the project anyhow. Terri was there which SHOULD have been just fine.

Call me crazy, but I really have an extremely difficult time believing that LE advised Kaine to take his daughter and leave if they had any inkling that he had anything to do with Kyrons disappearance...but that's just me and mho..

To be honest I never gave much thought at all as to why Kaine did not attend the science fair, since he is the employed parent. Not unusual these days, when some schools have many activities going on..Now, had Kyron been receiving some kind of award for his project or something along those lines, I think I would have expected him to attend...but certainly would not correlate him not being there with Kyron's disappearance! Besides, since Kaine was working from his office that morning from what I understand, his whereabouts were probably easily verifiable...Terri..not so much, unless I have missed something major!

As far as my own feelings of believing Terri is most likely guilty, her FB had very little to do with my belief..that was just one more thing in a string of 'coincidences' that leave me with a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. What do I know though...maybe TH has just had a run of bad luck..nothing more. I don't believe that to be the case, but again...what do I know? :)

In the interview with he and Desiree sitting down, one of the more recent(but will have to go search to find link) This was talked about in more detail. Kaine said that on events such as the science fair that if he were not able to attend that he would make an effort to get off work early in order for him to be home when Kyron arrived home on the bus and possibly do something such as go out for the ice cream for him doing so well on his project for the Science fair..

If I'm not mistaken this was led into by discussion of Kaine's working at home that afternoon and it seg wayed into Kaine not going to science fair, etc, etc.

As I said I will have to go search for the actual link to this particular interview(if anyone knows off hand feel free to post)

Maybe I'm strange, but I don't think the science fair is that interesting. I would have been satisfied with seeing the project at home.

Maybe if I had friend's or relative's children I would go to see their project, but I just don't see a display with a diorama as that exciting.

I grew up in the era when children went to school, did THEIR own work, and played sports by themselves with no parental involvement. School was the child's job and parents had their own lives. It was just expected that we went to school and played outside . We came in when the streetlights came on.

Well that's the first time in a while we've heard "no comment". Wonder if LE is telling him to keep quiet and stop doing all those interviews?

Interesting --
