I have one fear about the phone records- Nextel phones have a walkie-talkie feature- direct connect- if Stacy tried via direct connect instead of calling him, the records might not exist. My bill only shows the minutes used via direct connect. I'm not sure if she used that feature if they would be recorded.
Dobler is that feature something new? Does it go back to 2004? We sometimes see these things in ads and don't think about how long they've been around.I have one fear about the phone records- Nextel phones have a walkie-talkie feature- direct connect- if Stacy tried via direct connect instead of calling him, the records might not exist. I'm sure they've been driving me crazy for at least that long :doh:Dobler is that feature something new? Does it go back to 2004? We sometimes see these things in ads and don't think about how long they've been around.
I agree here completely.
Let's just hope that *statement* that Stacy made giving Drew the alibi that night is an official police statement still on file in Bolingbrook or whoever had all the paperwork for the so called investigation back then. I would think for Drew, back in March 2004 and for any years following, that having that official police statement in writing and on file by Stacy for his alibi would have been very important.
What I would interesting in knowing is.....
1) How far in advance did Drew plan that night to go to Kathleens?
2) Did he only tell Stacy about that night because she caught him red handed not being at home when she woke up? Otherwise he could have went out that night, did the deed, creeped back home, took his shower, hid the bag of clothing for later disposal, jumped back into bed with Stacy and she may have never known he was missing that night. So why admit to her that he killed Kathleen?

If we believe that Stacy was indeed calling him that night because hewas not in bed with her where he belonged then we also must assume that she didn't know about this taking place with Kathleen before hand. She caught him red handed.
Also I do believe he planned this and it was premeditated because he would not have been in dark clothing at Kathleen's at that hour. He had this planned to a T..Stacy caught him, by confessing to her he was making her an accomplice after the fact. He was in effect holding a gun to her head and saying here is the alibi..deal with it..
I have to agree with you on both counts. AND, what I think is really important is that Stacy, by lying for Drew, was an accessory after the fact and you can bet your bottom dollar that Drew let her know that she was as guilty as he and that if she ever went to the police that she would go to prison and someone else would raise her children. He most likely made it as bad as it could possibly be. This was pre-meditated murder driven undoubtedly by money. He received a lot by Kathleen's death and he didn't have to write any monthly checks to her. This man is nothing but slime.
ITA - and given Stacy's youth, the fact that she had an infant child and only a HS degree, I can just see him manipulating her over this. When you think about the difference in their ages and that he was in LE, I would think she would have believed a lot of what he told her to be the truth.
All the talking head shrinks have been saying that sociopaths are very good at picking their victims.
I don't think Stacy knew anything about Kathleens murder until after the fact and I am sure DrewP put his spin on it, it's very sad that by Stacy going along and giving him the alibi she put herself in the same situation as Kathleen.
IMO if a man cheats on 1 woman, he'll cheat on the next woman, in DrewP's case I guess we can say if he kills 1 woman then he'll kill the next woman also.

Forget the phone calls for a minute...where is the bag of women's clothing? Has it ever been mentioned what happened to them? All I keep hearing is that Stacy reported to the Pastor she saw Drew with it, but nothing about what became of it. This could directly connect Drew to the murder and the phone calls would merely be a brief blip on the screen as far as any circumstantial evidence goes.
I keep hoping they find some kind of diary where this is all spelled out from Stacy. I believe she would be the type to write this all down and hide it from Drew. She was brave enough to tell the Pastor and I think before then...she would have wanted a way to "get it off her chest" by telling a diary. They need to go all out to find if such a book or online journal exists because the proof would be there.
This is incorrect. No witness (except in a specific cases involving child abuse due to recent statutes) is required to voluntarily divulge information. If they are questioned by LE and lie then they are open to charges of obstruction, but just keeping quiet is not a crime, although I personally find it disgusting.
What I understood to be true was that Stacy did not just keep quiet, but when questioned said what Drew had told her to say..that he was at home asleep in bed with her that evening.

Here in Nevada we had this case of Sherrice Iverson who was murdered by Jeremy Strohmeyer. A portion of the assault and killing was witnessed by Strohmeyer's friend David Cash. Despite the publicity - Cash was very aware that the police were looking for Jeremy Strohmeyer - he said nothing because Strohmeyer was his friend. Cash could not be prosecuted. A law was introduced to criminalize just such a lack of action but it was never passed.
A teen-ager's inaction in the slaying of Sherrice Iverson is not a crime, authorities say.
