I have friends who have fought, similar to EG and JH, who were codependent upon each other, and did love each other, It would take me a month to explain the dynamics, they're just mind boggling. LE was never called b/c they were pretty rural and/or if in town, folks keep to themselves around here, especially after it happens on a weekly basis. In one friends home, and they were married for years, and stayed married, we'd have to duck things flying through the air most every time that we visited, or, we'd have to try and intervene if they were at one of our homes.

My point, what if JH hadn't returned to TX yet, and they fought. During their fight they throw something, and little L gets hit, or they shove him out of the way and he strikes his head or is shoved harder than they intended, being wrapped up in their own fight. They have to do something or EG will lose her boys, and they'll lose their daughter.

I don't think JH was a regular drug user b/c of working on the oil rigs. From what little I know about working on them, it can be dangerous work and they have random drug testing. That doesn't mean he couldn't drink, which, with with EG having a hot temper, alcohol would likely not be in her best interests either. However, I'm sure that LE has checked to make sure that JH was at work during the week that little L went missing.

One more scenario, EG and a bf, could have been hooking up during JH's work time. Little L walks in, and one of them went off on him. They think he's just hurt and put him to bed with a movie. They shower, and find that it's much worse. L's taken away by bf, so EG doesn't know where he is at, maybe it was a bf who hurt him, so , she is being truthful when she says that she didn't hurt him. A bf is not going to park in front of the house. Maybe a bf used her suv that was pulled up to the shed.

Just some thoughts.

What a great organization, very hopeful that TES will find Lucas.

They've not been involved in any of the cases I've followed over the years...can anybody point me to cases you've followed here on WS where TES has been integral?

Katelyn Markham, she is in the cold case files.

TES did not find her but she was found, I believe 30 miles from where she disappeared.
Sorry, I don't think that is what you were asking.

As far as relationships, anything can happen and be "normal", which is no one's business.
Violence is a serious problem when there are kids in the house.
It's hard to understand why an abusive couple decides to bring children into the mix, but it's all too common. If a couple fights violently (bringing an ax handle to hold by your side like EG did), it's very likely the kids are going to get hurt too.
I've had so many friends and relatives who's relationships remind me of Lucas' homelife.
I could care less what the adults do if they don't hurt each other.
I've seen the flying plates too.

"Texas EquuSearch has been involved in 1,860+ searches in approximately 42 states in the United States, Aruba, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Our efforts have proven successful with returning over 400 missing people home to their families safely, many of which would have been deceased.Texas EquuSearch is responsible for recovering the remains of 238 missing loved ones, bringing closure to many families. Many of the 238 cases have resulted in criminal cases. At no time during any of the searches was evidence compromised by Texas EquuSearch. Therefore, the suspect(s) were brought to justice resulting in convictions. Additionally, Mr. Miller has been involved in several murder trials."

Yes, they have calmed a little. The winds are still pretty nasty but they are slowing down. So far the dangerous branches on the tree have been holding, if it can hold out for another 2 or 3 hours we should be golden.

It's due to hit here in Nova Scotia later today. Pleased you are safe

When a house is searched do they search for hiding places in the house?

Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk

Yes, of course, and especially after Evan was found in the home encased in concrete...as flute4peace has mentioned, Evan's case is still very fresh on everyone's minds...moo.

Yet another case where abuse was reported, and the child later comes up missing. So very frustrating to watch this happen over and over. The other detail which seems to be common; "I fell asleep, when I woke up, (insert child's name) was gone". Dad's statement to the media regarding family members speaking out is troubling too.

Do we know anything about bio-mom? Did she ever have visitation with Lucas?

Just one example:

Karen Perez case, TES

http://www.houstonpress.com/news/mo...ere-15-year-old-daughter-was-murdered-8572984
From above article:

In May, Perez's teen boyfriend brutally raped and murdered her in one of the vacant apartments, prosecutors allege. Though the South Houston Police Department claimed it had searched the abandoned lot and failed to find her body, a Texas Equusearch crew found Perez stuffed underneath a kitchen sink.

I asm wondering if MSM held back that information because of the anonymity of the suspect in this case. LE wouldn't even release her name. So maybe reporters and journalists were reticent about releasing info about her home and the searches since the identity was being kept secret at the time?

LE in Wichita keeps pretty tight lipped in their investigations. When Vincent Moore went missing, we didn't find out LE considered him deceased until a family came out with a document they received that stated such. I don't think LE ever made any type of announcement.

Wichita child tragedies helped lead to DCF official’s removal
BY JONATHAN SHORMAN

Updated March 02, 2018 09:05 AM

"DCF received several reports that 3-year-old Evan Brewer had been abused prior to his death last fall. The boy was found encased in concrete in his Wichita home.

Police are still searching for*5-year-old Lucas Hernandez. He has been missing for nearly two weeks; concerns about possible abuse had been previously reported to DCF."

I totally agree with your statement..... Yes, if there was any other "real" person to blame, EG would have already thrown them under the bus (not going down alone).....

My worry is that from the get-go, it was stated there was no evidence of abduction, or even of Lucus walking out......so theoretically, no investigative resources have really been expended to try and locate an alternative perpetrator. KWIM? Tons of effort to try and locate Lucas thankfully....but myself and others have really noticed the lack of extensive evidence collection at the home, towing of vehicles, etc. As you said, if it all points to the house and all points to EG...wouldn't there have been much more CSI presence and evidence being taken out? Even the stealthiest of PD's are typically shown by media traipsing in and out.

So, again, the worry is that they DON'T have the evidence they need:
-or EG would at LEAST still have the endangerment charge for Lucas against her
-a defense attorney might have a case against investigators for focusing just on EG (ie. they pre-concluded it was her.....and never really sought other perps. They have not asked the public to help identify any other vehicles, persons, images on video, etc).

I think this could be a problem. IMO.....thoughts?

Is it just something about Wichita? I had totally forgotten about EGs identity being kept under wraps at first. Are they just keeping things out of the media and close to the vest?

Evan's landlord found his tomb after the suspects were evicted. Sounds like LE had to have walked right past. I don't understand if Evan was thoroughly investigated as a missing person, or just written off by everyone except his dad.

How a landlord discovered Evan Brewer’s body when no one else did

"Days after police had searched the small rental house without realizing what was inside, the landlord looked around himself.

...

At first, Dwayne Haukap recalled Tuesday, “I overlooked it.”

It was a big slab of fairly fresh concrete, covered in carpet and tools in the laundry room, Haukap said.

Something's a little fishy in Wichita. That DCF official being ousted amidst all of this kind of reeks, but I'm not sure of what exactly. Fish? Dog? Rat? Weasel?

I was reading a study, and found that.

The longer distances, a victim's body was moved, up to 59 m, were when a child was murdered at the residence, indoors, in an urban setting. Shorter distances were associated with destroyed/hidden evidence, and placing the body in a bag (or I guess any container). These cases will start out at the offender's home, and may begin as a missing person report. The victim is likely known to the offender so it's important to hide the body.

38% of child victims were found in forested areas, 20% in water sources, 17% in their own home, 16% on the street, and if a vehicle is used to transport the body, most often the child victim is found within 150' of the highway (No vehicle used, and the body was still carried around 150' from the site of the crime).

Taken from the book:
Missing Persons: Multidisciplinary Perspectives on the Disappeared pg. 198-199

This is really fascinating. Thank you for sharing.

One case off the top of my head where TES was involved was in the case of Terilynn Monette, and I will never forget what Tim said about her case.

She and her vehicle were eventually found in the bottom of a bayou, ruled an accident.

Now, as stated previously, TES works directly with LE, and information provided to him about the investigation, as far as where they need to search----they go off leads from LE.

Well, LE had asserted that Terrilynn had for sure taken a certain direction in her vehicle per traffic cam footage. So, Tim, searched a certain water area based on this, with no luck...Well, it turned out, that information from LE was wrong about TM making a turn in that direction at the traffic light!

Tim later said something along the lines of, "if you're off an inch, you might as well be off a mile."

Red-light camera footage, key decisions complicated search for Terrilynn Monette
June 11, 2013
http://www.nola.com/crime/index.ssf/2013/06/why_wasnt_terrilynn_monettes_c.html

"Eighteen days after teacher Terrilynn Monette disappeared in March, a search boat scanning Bayou St. John for submerged vehicles stopped at the Harrison Avenue bridge. Just a few feet away, on the other side of that bridge, Monette's car and body would be discoveredJune 8."

Snip

"At lunch with NOPD Commander John Thomas who was in charge of the investigation, Miller said it was decided the Equusearch boat would not return to search the bayou on the southern side of the bridge because the NOPD believed Monette had likely not passed that area. Footage taken from a red-light camera showed a black sedan -- believed to be Monette's Honda Accord -- turning away from that direction.

"It's one of those things -- if you miss it by an inch, you might as well miss it by a mile," Miller said on Tuesday. "It was a bad choice on our part and law enforcement's part. Everybody's hurt and feeling bad.""

There was a missing woman a few miles from where I lived.
The man who killed her kept calling tv stations and saying he wanted a ransom.
LE/FBI searched everywhere in every way for her.
She had been dead since the day he took her from her home and buried under a recycling spot in his yard.
She was finally found by him being traced through his phone calls to reporters.
There was a huge pot farm in the area they searched. It wasn't found. Or touched.
jmo

One charge is enough to hold her. If she bailed out on that one IMO THE SECOND ONE WOULD BE FILED. this was filed IMO to keep her other children safe and to keep her from running. LE has searched that house , her phone records and every single part of her pitiful life. Don’t underestinmate what has been done to find this child. They know where she is. She can’t run the very sad thing is that I believe they would have found him by now. And I think LE did as well.

I don't know. Yes, when you put it that way it does bother me. I guess I'm just hoping that LE do have an evidentiary reason to be saying what they are, to be holding EG, and for not putting out any sign they might be considering anyone else?

Could LE have asked media to not film evidence collection from the house because they don't want to jeopardize a future trial? When JH and JO did their joint interview they had made it clear to the media organization that some topics were off limit. Surely they would have been led by LE in making that request?

If LE have camera footage from another house in the street that covers EG's house and there's no sign of Lucas between 3pm and 6pm, no sign of anyone else going up to the house, then in that sense a lack of evidence could be seen as evidence against EG...at least inasmuch as telling the truth about the timeline? And if EG is lying about the timeline, then what else could she be lying about?

I definitely think EG is lying about the timeline. This goes back to the question about her hair dying, thing. Was her hair blond on the 11th? And, what color was her hair, when she went next door, to ask the neighbor if they had seen Lucas? I am guessing that she is on camera at some location or someone had seen her, and this is the reason behind the color change. LE probably has looked at bank transactions and requested copies of receipts from those businesses. One of the neighbors' talks in one of the Lucas groups. Maybe, he can look at his camera and see when her hair had changed colors... just a thought. Unless LE took the recordings in as evidence, which is also possible.

BBM

1. Unplanned Pregnancy

2. Temporary Blissful Phase
Some couples have babies to "save" the relationship and often times the excitement and bliss of pregnancy & a new baby results in the relationship being temporarily normal or even good. Short-lived relationship circumstances.

3. False sense of themselves, their partner, their relationship and their abilities (or lack of abilities) in regards to being good parents.
Very few people who are terrible parents can admit to such honestly and objectively. In my experience/observations, it's actually the parents who are extraordinary who often sell themselves short or have unattainable expectations of themselves, whereas parents who are less than stellar or downright terrible tend to make excuses, state their cases, or simply do not see or understand the ways in which they are terrible and in the rare cases where they do, they lack the motivation or ability to change that.

I wonder if she had help hiding the body. Think about it. She had a restricted drivers license. Was the restriction only if she had children in the car or was it constant? If it was constant, under all circumstances she needed to have someone over the age of 18 in the car she was driving, then if she took Lucas that day, didn't have another adult with her, got pulled over, car impounded with Lucas in the trunk, she would have been busted big time for this crime! Would she have taken that chance?

what confuses me is in her booking photo her hair looks lighter, than in her court appearance video and obviously she didn't dye her hair in jail.

Hog wild pit bbq is also a witchita business having started there not so long ago. They do catering as well so each store is already set up to pack large quantities. I have been to a wedding catered by them and the catering was top notch.

Does EG have a history of changing hair colors?
I'm not certain if she did. The court appearance could just be poor lighting

September 2009*/Tim Miller's Search for Lost Souls, Including His Own
http://www.orlandomagazine.com/Orla...lers-Search-for-Lost-Souls-Including-His-Own/

"Miller can describe in measured tones what he knows about Laura’s murder—the day she vanished from a convenience store south of Houston, the suspects who were questioned, the fact that 25 years later police still don’t know who killed her. But if he dwells on it, the anger that unhinged him—and left him drowning in alcohol and obsessed with revenge—can flicker again.

*Rage used to paralyze him, but these days Miller stays on the move, searching through fields and forests, in mountains and around lakes, from Central Florida to Southern California, seeking lost souls.

Sometimes it seems as if he’s trying to redeem his own."

Snip

“"We question ourselves: ‘What the hell did we do wrong? What could we do different?’” Miller says of unsuccessful searches. “Many times when we come in, we are the families’ last hope. That’s the worst hurt.’’

Many families see Miller as a hero, with just his very presence bringing them comfort."
