What the heck?

I wonder why they would unpublish or delete the official FB page. This case is so confusing. You would think if there was news or she was found they would update the page rather than take it down.

The Missing in America 'Finding Andrea' FB page (AKA the 'official' page) had chronic issues with incorrect phone numbers and incorrect dates not being corrected in a timely manner.
It was very disorganized. Perhaps taking it down was for the best.

Oh, I didn't realize the Finding Andrea page was run by Missing in America I thought the family and sister ran it.

The 'Finding Andrea' page was run by Erin Knabel (Andrea's sister) and Nancy Schaefer (founder of Missing in America).
The search for Andrea appeared to be coordinated by Nancy Schaefer.
It was all/is all very confusing.

I agree it has been one of the most confusing situations and lots of information that contradicts other information.

How about some simple basic facts.

State the address she was leaving and the one she was headed to. Don’t just say “home”. She has probably walked or done this path before.

Clear facial picture. Recent is best.
Drivers license photo is usually good front facing everyday picture.

State places she frequented.
(Starbucks, Ross, Dollar Tree, whatever)

Keeping secrets or hiding something is counter productive to finding her.
All JMO

The 'Finding Andrea' Facebook page has disappeared.
However, the 'Missing in America' Facebook page is still up and running with some of Andrea's information.

I agree. They can still give information without putting too much personal info out there. This whole thing has turned into a mess.

Any time anyone asked valid questions, the admin(s) of the page would get snippy, reply that “those questions aren’t relevant”, and delete the persons comment/questions. How is it not relevant to know if Andrea has any tattoos, scars, if she takes or has been taking any medications, why she was upset the night she went missing, etc. The responses to people’s legit questions were mind boggling to me.

Are they more concerned with what people think versus finding Andrea?

I personally don't think it has anything to do with them being more concerned about what people think, because the lack of information isn't just personal information, it's everyday general information that could really aid in helping to locate Andrea. As mentioned in posts above how hard would it be to say: Andrea went missing from X address @ date/time, she was walking n/s/e/w on X street towards X direction. It was indicated that she was headed to the area of X. Andrea has X tattoos, she was taking X medication, she frequented X, X, & X areas/places, etc.

From what I've seen the Finding Andrea page had a lot of incorrect information. The telephone numbers for the tip line were cut off/missing/incorrect. There were discrepancies with the last time she was seen/went missing. The photos originally used were made up, when she seemed to weigh less. When the public asked for more current photos they were basically told that the photos that are on the flyers are the only photos available of her. (Then the weird photo of her appeared) No one is saying that there's a need to go into great detail about her personal life, but at least be clear and accurate in the information that you're providing people that are trying to help you locate a missing person.

In MOO it seems that these things (inaccurate/missing information) are almost done purposely. It's been stated that Andrea and her sister were in a fight prior to Andrea becoming missing. If her sister wants her to know how much she's loved and is concerned about what the public thinks, why not release a statement along the lines of "My sister and I had a fight prior to her becoming missing in regards to a disagreement on life choices. I said some things that I shouldn't have said, which I deeply apologize for. If you can hear me, I just want you to know....Please keep your eye out for Andrea. Andrea, please come home." You don't necessarily have to get into the nitty-gritty of it. I find it strange that there were posts on the Missing Andrea page regarding how much Andrea needs to know she's loved, even by those she doesn't even know. I haven't seen her sister publicly acknowledge or apologize for the fight. If they thought it was that important for Andrea to know she is loved, wouldn't you just publicly apologize to bring her home?

So is she missing or not?

I believe she is missing.
I believe all the Drama is orchestrated.
I believe this is a sad case of people who love her, that have weaved webs of the past and it's interfering with finding Andrea.
I could care less of their part.
I am angry, sad, and disappointed at the focus on someone or group that's not missing.
Where is Andrea where is a official update by MSM OR LE.
THIS CASE IS SAD.
I JUST BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED TO HER.
However in this mystery I will wait to see if this was by her choice or foul play.
To many trustful people involved to be a hoax.
JMO
I can find no updates or leads or down the rabbit hole.

@Steph8angels if she went missing at in the early morning of the 13th why did her family and these trusted people not start posting or making the public aware of her disappearance until the 18th?

It’s a weird one. I do believe she’s missing, I don’t know that I believe she was taken against her will or met with foul play yet. I think her family is genuinely worried and desperate to find her. LE’s reaction is pretty typical if they also think she isn’t in danger. I do think they’re investigating though. There’s so much drama, it’s hard to keep up with.

Instead of getting her name out on national media, they really should’ve worked the local media a lot more. It’s still not a huge story locally and I think going to national media outlets kind of backfired because LMPD isn’t commenting or updating anyone on what’s happening, which makes people skeptical. It’d be a lot more beneficial for her name and picture to be on local news right now. I see posts floating around on FB quite a bit of missing people in the area, and if LMPD doesn’t think they’re in immediate danger, they don’t really comment on it and the cases don’t get much traction. It’s unfortunate, but I guess it’s their way of prioritizing all of the cases they get every year.
