MaryJane in the urine......food in his stomach had been eaten and hour or two before death...........THC is the drug that is measured.......would expect to find THC in someone's blood if it was smoked just before or shortly before death.......how long would THC stay in someone's blood....up to 3 days after use.......in the urine..several days to several months after use........

other internal findings......both external and internal......position exphitzia (sp). After receiving the blows to the back he did not move.......he was alive for a little while and had lack of oxygen which led to his death........

showing other photos....positioning of Trey at the scene...........the feed was showing the photo of Trey laying in the ditch......then the feed refreshed itself again.

Talking about blood splatter......medical determinations by the blood splatter.......consistant with impact blood splatter.......injuries caused by a blunt object....a lot of blood splatter around him........

Now talking about the defense medical examiner.........can witness say with any certainty what made those injuries.......a metal pipe or rod........injuries on the back of the head....no conclusions with object used there........cannot illiminate a baseball bat or metal pipe.

Conclusions with how Trey was killed........punch to face....fell down passed out on the ground.........lands on left side....rolls over or someone pushes him over.....then injuries to back took place.....more than 4 strikes.......cannot say whether one person or more than one person caused the injuries.........

Finding as of cause of death.......multiple injuries......major injury to back of head.......

Defense's turn now.

Medical examiner says she believes Trey was punched in face first and then someone turned him over and beat him in head and back.

Jason Riley ‏@jasonrileyCJ 37s

Says she doesn't know if one or two people were involved. Medical examiner for defense testified he thought only one person likely beat Trey

I understood you better than the witness. :floorlaugh:

:floorlaugh: OMG Jewels give a heads up when you post like this! I was about to gulp down a swig of coke zero... that didn't go according to plan!

Defense attorney Pete Schuler comparing Dr. Nichols' findings to Beckham's

A fact which was probably common knowledge among the teens in the area. That testimony was useless.

That may be your opinion but it isn't mine.

What other teens knew is irrelevant. Other teens aren't being accused of being down there in the woods with the murder victim that night.

IMO

Defense now asking about how the body was brought to witnesses office....in a body bag.......does witness thinks evidence was removed from body before autopsy?....witness does not know.

Did not find anything in victim's pocket.....a yellow paint chip on his jeans.......

Defencen now asking about Dr. Nickols findings.....if this witness concurs or not with his finding.......just went to refresh again.......

Sorry! lol

Why would the defense prefer that Trey have been hit with another object rather than a fist?

  • #172
Witness somewhat agrees with the other medical examiners findings except for the black eye and the using of a rock.......

Sorry I lost the feed again and had to do a hard refresh.......not really liking this feed......

No, its not irrelevant. The defendant knowing something that's common knowledge is alot less meaningful than if he had some knowledge of the crime scene which only a select few people knew. IMO that testimony added a whole pile of nothing to the prosecution's case.

Former medical examiner, Dr. Nichols, testified for defense last week. Trained Burrows. She says Trey was punched in face with fist, not bat

Okay I am having a hard time with the Defense line of questioning. It is up to the jury to decide which ME is more credible. Right?

Why would the defense prefer that Trey have been hit with another object rather than a fist?

They want Trey to have been hit with an object other than a baseball bat, because that would undermine Cassie's testimony.

Does anyone have the link for WAB's feed.....the WLKY one is just spinning and spinning and not coming back. It did this the other day too and I had to go to HLN to watch.

That 'Continue Watching?' is driving me nuts. I just got another and then goes live right to the white noise from he11. :banghead:

Did the ME say that the dirt on Trey's back was from someone's foot holding the body down? I remember reading that a shoe print was found on his lower back?
