If in fact she really did have her doubts about TH, the fact that she left her son in that woman's care and moved so far away from him will tear her apart. I think my guilt would destroy me more than my loss. I would not want to be in her place for even one nanosecond. MOO

This is true; but, I would like to point out something. Apparently there was a custody agreement in place. Even if DY did notice red flags she may not have been legally able to do anything about it. Can you imagine how frustrating something like that could be?

Truth is, we do not know if they had an ugly custody battle. Seeing that DY obtained a RO I imagine it was ugly. We don't know if DY was trying to make changes in that custody agreement recently either.

It really urks me when people question why DY did not step in and try to keep Kyron. We don't know if she did or didn't. It is very likely that her hands were tied by the courts ... anyone that has been through an ugly custody situation will better understand this.

With that said, I have no doubt that Kaine loved his son. I'm sure he was a very good and loving father; so, please don't think I am in any way putting him down. When it comes to our children, I am sure we can all be difficult to deal with.

I am not sure it was a ugly custody battle as such. Yes Desiree got a restraining order but..when she went to Canada she asked Kaine to look after Kyron which suggests they at least talked otherwise why not get a member of her family to look after Kyron whilst she was there? Then once she came back she simply let Kyron stay there..simply because he was settled I guess.

To take a child to another country, both parents must agree to allow it to happen. If Kaine refused to sign the documents allowing Desiree to take Kyron with her, it could very easily be that Desiree was forced to give Kryon to Kaine, who then sought custody.

I've seen that happen, as well.

We could speculate till we are blue in the face. I just wanted to put that out there. DY and KH may get along perfectly now. They may have gotten along, run into a bump, straightened it out, found another bump, etc. It is a vicious cycle subject to change at any moment (much like our own opinions).

Bringing forward my quick and dirty paraphrases of the Q&A in this video to help us get back on topic. :)

Reporter: Is anything changed in the house?

Kaine: No

Reporter: Did you notice any warning signs in weeks before disappearance?

Kaine: Not really.

Reporter: Was Kyron supposed to be in talent show?

Kaine: Not aware of the talent show.

Reporter: Did family members plan on attending talent show?

Kaine: No

Reporter: What will it take to get Terri to cooperate?

Kaine: I don't know. I'm here for Kyron. I don't want to talk about Terri.

Reporter: Anything else you want the public to know?

Kaine: Aside from we love him and miss him, no.

Kaine: Not really.

But at 3:01, he says, not really, but I don't want to talk about Terri. That was so strange to me. The reporter didn't even bring up Terri at that point.

I guess, is it a myth that Kyron was suppose to be in the talent show? Because if he were, don't you think he would have been practicing all over that house for weeks or days on whatever talent he chose to perform ?? Did he notice any warning signs ??? Odd behavior would be one, if that is true. But rather than say just plain "NO", why "Not Really ??? As I usually do, I am probably reading more into this than I should...

I think he is equating 'warning signs' with Terri. As in, Did you see any warning signs (with Terri)? I was thinking warning signs with Kyron, like unusual behavior, etc. But when the reporter asked this question - Kaine was obviously thinking warning signs with Terri.

I just wanted to point out that this is in the mythbuster thread as a RO was placed on both Desiree and Kaine during their divorce process. It was not part of the custody dispute.

ETA- I misread the mythbusters thread. This myth has not been busted yet!

Thanks for pointing that out. I did not know that.

That hasn't been 'busted' yet, as there's no link to substantiate the 'bust'.

Seeing this video tonight prompted me to become a member.

I am just heartbroken for Kaine and Kyron's lil sis. With the eldest brother moving out of the home, sweet Kyron missing, and her mommy now gone, I worry she may suffer extreme separation anxiety when Kaine must leave her at daycare.

I am excited to join such a caring group of intellectuals and look forward to participating in the discussions.:woohoo:

Kaine looks 10-15 years older than he did in pictures from just a few months ago...he truly looks a different man..and the word that comes to me..is he looks totally ravaged.

I personally think whatever was said to him Tuesday wasnt good. I know that he spoke of Kyron coming home but..I am not sure he really he believes it :(

Kaine looked devastated at the Wall of Hope and there was a definite change in him. I think he's reached the point where he's now clinging to hope and trying desperately to sound positive, but inwardly, he's full of doubts. A lot of conflicting emotions. The poor man's life has been turned upside down since June 4th, and all the stress since then is very obvious.

Proof that people all over the country are still involved in this case and watching for Kyron:

http://www.koinlocal6.com/news/loca...ion-with-Portland/AHTJ7BVxD0i-Ac9BSa_BwA.cspx

questioned for 2 hours... kinda scary

I saw that article earlier today and thought it was very positive - shows that people everywhere are on the look out for Kyron. I'm sure it was uncomfortable for the grandfather, his daughter and grandson, being questioned for 2 hours though. The little boy DOES look a lot like Kyron.

Poor Kaine's eyes are so hollow and grief-filled to me. It's horrible to watch someone suffer like that. I wish that kid in Texas had been Kyron. Wouldn't that have been amazing?

Full article here:

http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/07/investigators_put_pressure_on.html

snip of the article with the statement from the bio parents + TY.

Here is the full statement from Kaine Horman, Desiree Young and Tony Young:

"Good evening,

"We have been briefed by law enforcement on the most recent developments in Kyron’s case. We have been informed that they have identified a person that has been in close communication with Terri Moulton Horman since Kyron went missing and her name is DeDe Spicher. She has not only been in close communication with Terri but has been providing Terri with support and advice that is not in the best interests of our son. Additional information provided shows that she is refusing to cooperate with law enforcement, she is also going as far as to suggest to others that may have information regarding Kyron’s disappearance, not to cooperate as well. We implore DeDe Spicer (sic) to come forward and cooperate with the investigators in any way that they need in order to assist us in finding our son. We will state further that if we find out through the investigation that she caused a delay in us finding our son due to her lack of cooperation, we will pursue civil remedies in this matter.

"We as a family cannot understand how anyone can look at Kyron’s smiling face, having information and choose not to help bring him home. Please remember what this is about, it’s about bringing a wonderful little boy back to his family.

"Desiree, Tony, and Kaine"
