Yes I feel like the Christmas/new year period was not the time to replace them!Agree. They are trying to avoid lawsuits.
Whatever official spoke yesterday about the barriers that were not where they typically are due to getting ready for the upcoming events is probably regretting it.
This has nothing to do with a terrorist but last year I think New Orleans was the number one capital of murder cases and crime (in the US).
Who was the lady speaking that had a red blouse on? I didn’t see her being introduced.

“This is completely out of his character,” Abdur-Rahim Jabbar said. “You would never think he would do anything like this. He was just the calmest, most gentle person you could possibly know.”
While Jabbar wasn’t involved in sports in high school, Roach said he was popular with classmates.
“He was one of the pretty boys at school, all the girls liked him,” Roach said. “All the guys were friends with him because he was cool and real easy to talk to.”
Abdur-Rahim said he believed his brother grew up practicing Islam, but stopped going to services in his early 20s. Shamsud-Dinn Jabbar started practicing again after leaving the military. He said his brother joined the military because he needed discipline after graduating high school.
“I want to be clear, even though he claimed to be a Muslim, this type of behavior is more extremist behavior. This is radicalization,” he said. “I know they see his name, they see our name. There’s already a stigma around Muslims — that these are the type of things we do. But I want to be clear. It’s not.”
Abdur-Rahim said he had to tell their father, who recently suffered a stroke, about what his brother did.

New Orleans Attacker Posted Videos Declaring Support For ISIS Shortly Before Rampage, FBI Says
The investigation into the truck attack on New Orleans' Bourbon Street, which killed at least 14 people and injured dozens more, is ongoing, with the attacker, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, identified as a U.S. military veteran who had posted support for ISIS before the deadly incident.www.news9.com
...and the two incidents happened on the same day.Does anyone else find it statistically improbable that Jabbar and the Vegas car bomber worked at the same air base and weren’t linked? I can’t imagine this is common…disturbing if statistically it is so common random coincidence occurs.
The driver was killed apparently. What local news is saying.I did not hear any update about the driver.
@alcaprari23
FBI now says that New Orleans terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar acted alone and there is no indication others were working with him. Investigators think he picked up the F-150 truck on 12/30/24 in Houston then drove to New Orleans on 12/31/24.He posted five videos to online platforms proclaiming support for ISIS beginning at 1:29am to 3:02am on NYD.Three phones and two laptops linked to Jabbar have been recovered and investigators are searching them for more evidence.

Others here have kindly pointed out how large that base is (52000) and they may never have been there at same time - looks like the trump bomber was specifically anti trump whilst the New Orleans massacre was Islamic terror inspired. So I guess not, but the odds do feel far fetched in numerical terms I agree!...and the two incidents happened on the same day.
What are the odds?

They are claiming it was an Isis flag. Local news stated he apparently posted on social media moments before the attack that he was "inspired by isis" but I don't know if there's any truth in that.

New Orleans terrorist killed after slaughtering 15 NYE revelers
At least 15 people are dead and 35 left injured after an SUV plowed into a large group near the intersection of Bourbon Street and Canal Street in the New Orleans French Quarter early this morning.www.dailymail.co.uk
There is a flag mounted on the trailer hitch - see the photos. In all photos I have seen, it has been curled up on itself. Anyone know what the flag is?
From the timing of both incidents, it seems the Vegas one couldn't even be a copy cat type thing becuase the guy rented the truck from Turo before the New Orleans incident happened if I understand it all correctly. The Vegas guy would have had to already have his plan in progress when the NO incident was starting. So it is really odd if these are not connected at all....and the two incidents happened on the same day.
What are the odds?
I thought the same thingIt looks more like a jacket than a flag to me.

New Orleans terrorist sparks mystery over hidden object on vehicle
A mysterious object was spotted on what appeared to be a flag pole attached the white Ford SUV that struck a crowd of people around 3.50am Wednesday.www.dailymail.co.uk
Further up in the thread. It crossed the border two MONTHS prior, not two days, and was determined to be a different driver through the Turo rental. Seemingly completely unrelated.Any mention of the suspect’s rented truck crossing the border at Eagle Pass on Nov. 16th? The truck’s Texas license plate was recorded by a reader at the Eagle Pass border crossing. It was unclear yesterday if the suspect was the driver.
FBI says no definitive link between attack in Las Vegas with cyber truck and New Orleans attack.

oh i missed this completely....... So you are saying it was someone totally different who rented that vehicle........Further up in the thread. It crossed the border two MONTHS prior, not two days, and was determined to be a different driver through the Turo rental. Seemingly completely unrelated.
