Using an unusual substance might even prove helpful in pinpointing his contacts or sources of inspiration.
Oh that's interesting. So there is no familial connection to the ME.
I know it really doesn't matter, but I think it takes more effort to become exposed to radical ideas.
I wonder if anyone has sent something radioactive on a plane?Theoretically, it is unsafe to smuggle in explosives. Components of explosives to be combined with something on the spot can be smuggled in. But honestly, JMO, homemade recipes might be posted in many places. Maybe they are unusual for this country, but nothing super-fancy. The fact "never used in America or Europe" is more telling. I hope it rules out nukes, because a bomb was detonated in Nevada and before, Fermi's reactor burst up accidentally. If not nukes and nor Europe/US, it surely limits the options.
For contacts, I'd look for Muslims from poor countries, not necessarily ME, who came here since 2022 as refugees or just crossed the border. Not too educated but having an established community.Using an unusual substance might even prove helpful in pinpointing his contacts or sources of inspiration.

I believe they scan/xray luggage that goes in the cargo hold.
The second line bands are strictly volunteers. The musicians, dancers, and costumes are a beautiful tradition. They are held to honor and memorialize events and/or people. It is not disrespectful in the least bit. One has to experience the beauty and culture of New Orleans to understand.I don’t know if you are referring to the second line band/s? It doesn’t take resources for that. It’s done by the people of New Orleans. You have to understand the people of New Orleans to know that it isn’t disrespectful. imo

As for his influences, I read that he followed 25 accounts of Salafi Islamic broadcasters from the US, UK and Canada on Soundcloud. Salafis are reportedly orthodox Muslims. For contacts, I'd look for Muslims from poor countries, not necessarily ME, who came here since 2022 as refugees or just crossed the border. From the photos in his home that were released by MSM, it looked like he was using an interlinear publication of the Quran, so there would be both the Arabic original along with an English translation on each page.Think of this. He had eight volumes of religious books. I take it, they were in Arabic?
Arabic is super difficult to learn. If he taught himself, first, he must have been bright, second, he had to train online. From there to some websites is easy. I think it would be the natural way. I think that the imams living here are NOT radicalizing people, far from it. They have a good life in a good country, they would push their members to achieve. But with the state of the borders, some people who come across make me shiver. The combination of poor education, high religiosity and already pre-existing group... they take the books too literally, that's the problem. IMHO, Jabbar, who was, it seems, isolated, might have joined such a group here for the company, not realizing that by education or general intelligence, they were far below him.
Wow! Why wasn't the home not secured and guarded until the investigation’s complete?![]()
FBI finds bomb making chemicals at New Orleans terrorist’s home in Houston • Louisiana Illuminator
“Precursor chemicals” for homemade bombs were found at the mobile home of terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar’s home in Houston, according to the FBI.lailluminator.com

I don’t think that’s the primary reason people focus on things like the bollards in mass casualty events. The human brain tends to focus on the things we ARE able to control, so that if we do xyz or don’t do xyz, this won’t happen to us.I think some just want to find something to blame other than the terrorist.
Except that the changes are never highlighted, never implemented, and we're just supposed to become desensitized and tolerable of terrorists slaughtering civilians in the street. We cannot control the actions of others, and it takes decades to implement changes that improve our society. In the meantime, it’s a disgrace to not utilize every resource you have available to protect your citizens from the rogue terrorists in the world. That’s why the media is focusing on this.

We can’t control someone wanting to murder people. But perhaps if we erect enough barriers, this won’t happen in this particular area again. It gives us a sense of control.

Hello! I don’t post often but thought I would add my 2 cents in. I traveled to Egypt for a couple weeks in Oct 2023 (was there when they started bombing ) anyway our US dollar is SOOO strong compared to Egyptian pound.GRT, take it from a person who has been in (I counted now - 36 countries), it becomes cheap. First, just before or after the season is cheap. Some layovers up to 3 or even 6 days cost nothing. (And the season is not always the best time of the year, the touristy season in Greece is hot, for example). Also, in many places, US three-star hotels equal four-stars and four -starts equal 4.5 i think. You acquire miles everywhere. A good example, from the same Greece: a dinner in a hotel overlooking a moonlit Acropolis is very expensive...well, you need it once in a lifetime, but the next days, follow the Greeks, and you'll end in family-owned restaurants, Greek food, local musicians and people dancing, all cheap. In fact, "follow the locals" ends up much cheaper. He probably did that in Europe. I would think that sitting at home, reading religious books and thinking ends up worse than traveling because in travels, you are constantly distracted by people. Egypt we haven't been to because of this war, but India was cheap and Taiwan is a poorly-known but great destination.
I would say that as a single guy living in Lousiana and earning 120K a year, he could do very well. His marriages and kids were the biggest drainer. But I doubt that anyone paid him. Rather, he put himself in a situation when he ended up living in a slum. My guess: he was shy and overpaid for smiles and hospitality.
As to the type, I think Mohammed Atta's types are very prone to being brainwashed and used by someone. Jabbar appears like this. His father is a super-devout Christian, he ended a super-devout Muslim, small surprise. It is what people extract from the religion, not the religion itself.
I have a slight suspicion that people who are more prone to hypnosis might be easier brainwashed, but not sure if there are studies proving it.

Just to give an example that I extended my stay and stayed at a 5 star resort on Red Sea with my room facing Red Sea all meals and all drinks included for $58 USD!
I was on a vacation including cruising down Nile, domestic flights all meals and excursions included for far cheaper than a US vacation for a week. I can only imagine how cheap it was just to stay in a flat there. Also areas of Cairo are extremely poor and you can haggle prices down to nothing. With exception to the cost of an international flight the trip could cost peanuts in all seriousness. Omo
