Falconer says it's likely that between July 4, 2012 and January 2013, the device name was changed to "Mark's iPad." #LauraBabcock

Whoa...so they can't say that it was changed on July 4th? I thought that's what we were being led to believe? :waitasec:

Can you imagine what DM's 'closing' will be like??????????????????????

Falconer doesn't think the iPad was called Mark's iPad before the backup on July 4th but it was possible. Judge understood the name was changed upon first connection. Falconer says he can't really know that.

See, even the judge thought so. This is not good. :notgood:

"I didn't really examine the iPad data personally." Falconer is not sure what was on the iPad before July 4th or what it was "named."

Would have been rather excellent if Crown had shown what ipad USED to be called, and show a couple of the ipad's last communications BEFORE it became DM's?

The name could have been changed to Mark's iPad any time between July 4th and the next time it was modified in January 20, 2013, Falconer agrees that's most likely. #LauraBabcock

Falconer says at the time of the first connection on July 4 2012, the device may have already been named "Mark's iPad." "The reality is you don't know when the name Mark's iPad was put on it," Dungey says. #LauraBabcock

It doesn't matter, the ipad was still the one given to LB with matching SNs. Jury aren't stupid.

Falconer says the name change could have been done in "many different points in time," even into January of 2013. #LauraBabcock

Falconer agrees he has no idea when the iPad was named Mark's iPad. He doesn't know what modifications were made between the first time it was backed up on #Millard's computer & the last time. #LauraBabcock

I guess the software can't tell what the computer was called before that, or when it was changed.. it seems that everything on the ipad would change to reflect the new name.. wow.

It goes towards MS's culpability. That's why his lawyer is bringing it up.

Good thing they have SNs and not just 'names'!

The serial number is unique to the device and doesn't change, Falconer agrees. Dungey is done. #LauraBabcock

Dungey now asking about if the iPad will always back up to the same place on the computer. Falconer says yes. Dungey is now done. #LauraBabcock

Crown has a couple questions for redirect. Clarifies that a device serial number can't be changed by the user.

Crown Ken Lockhart asking if serial number can be changed in a backup. Falconer says no, it can't be changed. #LauraBabcock

True, but it's never a good thing if the jury thinks the Crown was trying to trick them IMO.

Lockhart says there's a number of pictures in Falconer's presentation. "Did you ever see any indication in the metadata that photoshop had been used?" Falconer says no, both in metadata, and date and time stamps. #LauraBabcock

We spent an hour and a half on photoshop yesterday afternoon, crown reminds Falconer. Has Falconer repeat that he carefully vetted all the documents that were prepared for court. He'd know if the files had been manipulated. #LauraBabcock

DM reminds me of that ignorant person you see on the internet, who just has to argue against everyone with obscene points that make no sense....and even though every person is on the other side they just won't give it up....total troll.

Here is how you view metadata in Photoshop (in my case, Photoshop Elements, but it's the same under both programs anyway). DM should be familiar with this because it is a standard part of Photoshop and hass been for a couple decades?

Here you see an new blank image and you can see that the software used to create it was Photoshop Elements. If I used a device it would say the name of the device.

Here is an example of the device data for an old camera and the settings it used

camera.jpg

That camera doesn't have GPS but here is what the GPS tab would look like - it would be filled with info if the image were taken with a device that had GPS capability (turned on)

So we should have 4 more witnesses on deck because they said there were 8 total for this week. We've gone through 4 if my calculations are correct.
