Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis was not allowed to post bond when he was arrested in 2000 on murder charges. His Atlanta-based attorney Ed Garland told USA TODAY Sports on Wednesday that Hernandez's team should be "very aggressive to get bond."

Garland was successful in getting Lewis freed on $1 million bond. Lewis eventually plead guilty to obstruction of justice charges and went on to play 12 more years in the NFL before retiring after last season.

"The first thing I did was file a motion for bond, and then we supported it with all sorts of facts, claiming the weakness of the case, claiming they rushed to judgment, showing all of the positive things we could show, bringing the team owners, and on and on and on. We were able to make a substantial showing that it was a defensible case, and there was no risk of flight," Garland said.

Most folks I know figured he was guilty, the smashing of the hom CCCs, hiring a professional cleaning team...WHY did LE take so long to arrest him? Why not use probable cause? Imoo

Texts, video play vital part in Aaron Hernandez murder charge

On June 14, Lloyd went with Hernandez to a Boston club, Rumor. McCauley said Hernandez was upset Lloyd had talked to people there with whom Hernandez had trouble. He did not elaborate.

Two days later, McCauley said, on June 16, Hernandez texted two unidentified friends. He asked them to hurry to Massachusetts from Connecticut. At 9:05 p.m., a few minutes after the first message to his friends, Hernandez texted Lloyd, telling him he wanted to get together, McCauley said.

A few days ago when I first heard of this, before the arrest, there was mention of another incident 6 or so months back involving Hernandez. Anyone know what that was about ?
It's sad what a few million bucks in the wrong hands can do. Yes he is innocent until proven guilty..but this doesn't look good. If he had been arrested first thing I would be more inclined to think of a rush to judgment situation. LE has looked into this long and hard before the arrest. They're confident they have the right guy.

What struck me was, who calls two friends to come and help them murder someone? Imagine that conversation! :scared: And why would the friends drop everything and come running?

I don't get the whole rental car situation, Hernandez has multiple cars, why was her renting cars and why did the victim have rental car keys on him?

I wonder how many head injuries - concussions - this guy has had.

If it's still looking bleak as time for the trial nears, that factor could come into play.

What are your notions regarding Bradley dropping it and then re filing. I mean if you shot my eye out why would I drop it in the beginning?
Fear? Blackmail?

http://foxnewsinsider.com/2013/06/2...- 20 years ago did they do this all the time?

Jane McManus ✔ @janesports Important to note that prosecution's assertions may not all hold up in court. It's a compelling narrative, but Hernandez isn't yet guilty.

That is true, I suppose they can say anything at this point.
but Hernandez isn't yet guilty.
TY!

Bob Kraft has an image for the Patriots. He has every right as the owner of the team to restrict who comes into his stadium.

As a Patriots fan I stand firmly behind Bob Kraft.

It was well known in the Boston area for days that the evidence leaked to the media that Hernandez was involved. Altho, I was really shocked at the charges.

Whether he pulled the trigger or not, he was involved according to the Bristol county D.A. and I do believe them. My brother is a retired police lieutenant ( not in or around the Boston area or the state of MA where I live ) so my views might be skewed. My other reasoning is that it's a high profile case, the DA's office knows that this kid can afford the best in lawyers. I am sure they are more than careful with evidence so not to get the case tossed.

This kid has been troubled since his father passed away, evidently he did not have the support system needed in place or refused it. He promised to keep clean and " do the right thing " in the newscast I saw from last August. He has an 8 month old baby girl.

Going to a strip clubs & bar rooms when you have a baby at home meh not " doing the right thing " as well as hanging with lord only knows who. I'm not a prude but I honestly would not want my fiance doing this, actually, he wouldn't be my fiance any longer.

Thinking his lawyers are headed to court as I type looking to get him released on bond.

In the end, my heart goes out to the Lloyd family & friends. He was loved by them & will be missed.

Shouldn't they be able to tell from the video which guy was the actual shooter?

there is no video of the actual murder, just some footage of his rental car entering the subdivision and then entering his driveway, plus his own surveillance footage in his own house

Most folks I know figured he was guilty, the smashing of the hom CCCs, hiring a professional cleaning team...WHY did LE take so long to arrest him? Why not use probable cause? Imoo

there was no evidence presented that anything was smashed or that a maid was hired

the prosecution said that footage was missing

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- FOX 25 has learned exclusively that investigators are looking into Aaron Hernandez as a possible suspect in a double murder that happened on July 16, 2012 in downtown Boston.

According to the Boston Police blog from that date, officers responded to the intersection of Shawmut Avenue and Herald Street just after 2 a.m. When they arrived, they found three people had been shot, two fatally, as they sat in a car at a traffic light.

The men were identified as Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu. The FOX 25 source said the men, who worked at a cleaning company in Dorchester, had just left a bar in the area.

Furtado and Abreu were sitting in the front seat of the vehicle when witnesses said the occupants of a gray or silver SUV with Rhode Island plates opened fire on it. The surviving victim was in the back seat. Investigators believed two others in the car fled the scene.

The source said that investigators were looking into Aaron Hernandez's connection to the killing.

I would just guess and MOOO that it is friends that he is helping out financially OR friends who enjoy their status as BFF"s of this rich and famous guy and they don't want to lose their status so he calls and they come running !
