Same. TBH I was thinking it wasn’t premeditated…. until that statement, and I’m glad they brought that up again today to make that point.

Also… why? Why did he say he misplaced his phone? A guess, if CM (or anyone) was looking for Ana, who wasn’t answering, they would not be surprised if he didn’t answer?

That was either a she's not gonna leave me dinner reservation or I need an amount of time to get rid of her time frame

IMO the CW didn't present a lot of evidence of premeditation. It doesn't appear he PLANNED to murder her.... but it does appear that changed. Seeing her natural affection with another man probably chafed him, then the photo gift for WF probably enraged him.

I think her necklace broken when he strangled her (MOO). He DID NOT want the children to wake up (or he may have gone full ChrisWatts) and Ana would NOT have wanted to leave her previous children alone with this sudden mad man. IMO he did intend to kill her -- silence her fatally -- he just didn't mean to create a crime scene.

I'm way behind in this trial. I've watched what I hope is most of the defense closing argument. I was a bit surprised at that the comments on this thread that were belittling the defense lawyer. I thought he was doing a very impressive job, much to my disappointment. The defense wasn't given much to work with but they've created a bit of confusion, which is their job.

I really hope that the Commonwealth came through with a strong argument in closing, so I'm off to check that out tomorrow, when I get a chance.

Deliberations in Brian Walshe’s murder trial will resume Monday after jurors on Friday failed to reach a verdict.

If the jury convicts Walshe of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Ana, he would be sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. They could also decide to convict him of a lesser charge, or acquit him.

The jury, which is composed of six men and six women, deliberated for a little more than three hours before the day in court ended.

His Defense brought up texts today in his closing and said there is no evidence that BW saw them or suspected an affair. I think that’s hogwash IMO

After watching both closings and then listening to Court TV lawyers in the aftershow----I AM NERVOUS about the verdict.

Court TV seems to think it'll be a hung jury or possibly a NG.

When I read some of the Prosecution closing it sounded great. But the presentation was underwhelming. Maybe it was better in person?

But it sounded like she was bored and mumbling. I actually think the D sounded more passionate and engaged.

It worries me. I hope this is a very intelligent jury with a great leader to help them digest everything. Someone needs to connect all of the dots. It is beyond a reasonable doubt that he killed her before he disposed of her, but only if someone connects all the dots.

What about the blood clots on the rug that was thrown out with the bloody slippers. I think that could be very incriminating since it was thrown out before he even bought the disposal supplies.

Brian's no doubt a psychopath who killed the mother of his children. I'm just glad that 2nd degree murder is on the verdict form because I think the MSP failed the prosecution. We didn't even hear Ana's text messages because the commonwealth didn't want to call them as witnesses. And these messages were admitted as evidence!

She has a new condo already all set up in DC, with bedrooms for the 3 boys. And BW was not legally allowed to move there.

She and BW had not been intimate for a year, and she was very emotionally involved with her new man.

She had already 'left' the marriage but she was afraid to tell BW I think. She was waiting until he was sentenced so she would have the safety she needed to make her exit. imo

That’s what I thought but her friend said she wanted her marriage and family, then what she wrote on the bottle. She may have said those things to thwart any leaks before she left.
