In the pressor, LE confirmed a family member saw her leave. Have they stated it was MIL? IMO, maybe lack of specificity because it was one of the children who saw her leave?
There are some pretty smart 6-year-old kiddos out there but the information provided doesn't sound to me like it came from a child - times, names of airports, etc. MOO

  • According to Quigley, a family member told police that they last saw Walshe at her Cohasset home between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday.
  • The family member further told Cohasset police that Walshe was taking a rideshare from her home to Boston Logan International Airport in an attempt to catch a flight to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport early Sunday morning.

The driveway behind theStop & Shop looks to provide good access to those woods and that parking lot would provide space for LE vehicles. They could also access that without getting homeowner permission.
Yes, absolutely.
Then my question would be what made them focus on those woods in the first place, and quite quickly as well.
Was a neighbour up at 4 am and saw some unusual activity?

Local and state place in Massachusetts used K-9 units to scour a wooded area near the Cohasset home of a missing working mom and emptied the family pool Saturday afternoon.

Cohasset police gave the media a brief update on the search for Ana Walshe at the staging area along Route 3A as a helicopter circled above.

It's unclear what police were looking for in the pool, and police haven't said what led them to two specific quadrants of the woods.

Anyone have any thoughts on the possibility of self harm? I just don’t know what to think at this point. JMO
Always a possibility but I am not sure where that scenario fits in with what we know ? I am probably over focused on the k-9's having been there at the home 2x before and back again today. They are continuing to search in the immediate area. And for me IMO admittedly, this case has definitely given me Jenifer Dulos vibes. JMO

When you look at the location of the home, there are woods behind the house which lead to the wooded area that is being searched.
So I am wondering why that Stop & Shop complex became a focus earlier.
IF Ana is in those woods, taken from their home, wouldn't a perp bypass the road and go through those woods behind the home?
So did a camera in fact show a vehicle stopping at that Stop & Shop?

I’m not sure it was a focus, more like a staging area to gather and coordinate

If her career is in DC, and they own a residence there, it's curious to me why she commuted back and forth, why didn't they all live in DC vs the Boston area?

Of course, there could be lots of good reasons. She may have elderly parents at either or both places, may have inherited a house she loves, might not be able to sell one of the houses, might be working in both areas, spouse might be working in one or both places, might have kids who don't want to move, might be saving a house for when the kids are in uni, might have an air B & B, might be holding a place for investment purposes, might be a tax write off, might be sharing the accommodations with others in her profession, might not be full owner on either of the houses, etc. Lots of folks have more than one house. There is nothing odd about that.

I don't doubt the investigators but that is one heck of a coincidence.
snipped from tweet: ".... Officials say it originated in the area of damaged piping connected to a natural gas fireplace insert...." As licensed gas pipe installer...I thought the house just sold? Who would not get a million dollar house inspected and why was there damaged gas piping , who would turn on a suspect not inspected gas piped fireplace , who would go to sleep after turning on a inspected or un-inspected foreign unfamiliar gas fireplace with kids in the house. Not trying to expose insurance fraud...just adding to the weirdness from a installers standpoint.....you smell gas when it leaks there is a additive in natural gas just for the rotten egg odor to warn you required by law.... and propane stinks...so there is that. Dogs picked up her scent in that direction, perhaps?

For them to be diligently searching right there in her back yard, tells me her phone was shut off before her alleged 4am departure, allegedly witnessed by a family member.

I don't think she made it off the property.

Could be dark green almost black pool water with leaves and algae. Shovels also. They do know--- imo.
Also, draining a pool without capturing the water could result in a loss of evidence.

ITA with the Jennifer Dulos vibe. I thought the very same in the beginning. But, something just seems off to me. Almost like it is too obvious for it to be her husband. Then again, we see it ALL THE TIME. They always think they will get away with it. JMO

Just wondering - if the house had been renovated by the previous owner( Ana), could there be warranty's for work ?And perhaps those warranty's were transferable to the new owners ? If the gas fireplace work was part of the renovation might that be covered under one of those warranty's ? Just a possibility. I suppose it's also possible that the new owners may be acquainted with the old owners altho I have no idea so IMO

Lots of reasons to have two houses but fewer reasons for a mom of young children to be separated from her family most of the week. My husband and I were planning to split our time across two states due to our separate work commitments but after thinking about it for a long time, we just didn't want to be apart. He decided to have a 2 hour commute for 2 years so he could be home every night and we would consider where we'd move as a family after.

I am surprised the children were not with her in DC. No judgment at all, just thinking statistically how custody and care are usually divided in a family. That makes me believe Boston25's reporting about the MIL living at the house more because that would be a very good reason for the children to stay in Boston even if mom has to be in DC M-F - free childcare.

I think maybe they should check the septic tank next - if there is one - JMO

It is, but it does happen from time to time. They’d know pretty quick if it was arson, and it makes little sense as she didn’t even live there anymore. You burn a house down to destroy evidence usually. Nothing there.

I don't write it off because of Kristin Westra in Maine. Similar situation where she disappeared overnight but she did not take anything with her. She did not seem to have family troubles and her husband was distraught but I remember reading and posting about her and we were all suspicious to start too.

Apologies if I missed it but has the husband made a statement/appeared on camera anywhere anytime since the disappearance?

Not that I’ve seen, and it’s unusual.

The only reason I hesitate on this on is bc of the MIL statement - if I want to take that as fact - it makes self harm less likely. If I don't decide to take her statement as fact, then I can wonder why she would say what she would say what she said -
if that makes sense
just my opinion
