If Ana freely went to basement, why?

@blackbeary
One possibility: if washer & dryer are in basement, doing LAUNDRY would be one reason for her to clomp down the stairs. Or if the FREEZER is in basement, stowing or retrieving food is another possibility.
imo jmo moo

Tedious reasoning about ^.
Per r/e home info:* "laundry features: in unit" or "in building" but no info on specific location; could be in basement. no pix of basement. I don't see W & D inside bathrooms. "House, built in 1984," and back then not so common to locate w & d on main floors, so were often in basement.
FREEZER is shown in list of appliances, but I don't see it in pix, so likely imo in basement.
Could house have W & D or freezer in GARAGE?
"Garage and Parking. Open Parking Spaces: 4." Not seeing it in pix, so looks like no garage imo, but coulda missed it.

(BTW, a suburban house like this (zestimate®: $1,042,500 or other est. of $877,100) on 3/4 acre in climate w snow & sub-feezing temps has no garage??? My car is shivering & shaking [wink] just thinking about it.)

I just looked up the property records online… As well as GIS.

http://www.mapsonline.net/peoplefor...6,5195553.948851,-7882970.44168,5195778.18404 - put in the address as 516 C J Cushing Hwy, or just enter the parcel ID - D7-41-117 to look it up if the parcel doesn’t come up automatically. Here’s a SS of the shed location (I added the arrow).

Actually, in the early 80’s, and even in a lot of new construction today, it was common to place the laundry room on whichever floor the master bedroom was on. According to this, there is 984 SF of completely unfinished basement space… which means no major mechs (HVAC, electrical, or plumbing - at least that’s what it means in terms of reading a property record anyway — I work in RE, so while I certainly don’t know everything, I do know a thing or two about this particular subject). I worry the only reason BW would have her in the basement would be a menacing one. :(

Is there anywhere that states when the house was built? It looks older with a new addition on the right.

Hard to say. While I can't imagine Ana didn't mention that, it's not apparent from what her friend describes. MOO
I feel bad for her in this regard, I can’t imagine if it were me that I wouldn’t have been embarrassed of my husband’s bad behavior. I hate that for her and I hope she didn’t feel isolated because of it.

Zillow shows some interior pics. Nothing about the basement. 516 Chief Justice Cushing Hwy, Cohasset, MA 02025 | Zillow
Yeah, unfortunately, Zillow is basically good for nothing but advertisement of sales or rentals, and can easily omit the nitty-gritty details of a property… at which point you have to go through a broker to get everything. Actually, that’s kind of the point of their service. Realtors pay tons of money to Zillow to be “preferred agents” so to speak, so that when potential buyers or renters want further information or to move forward, Zillow will happily refer you to one of those agents, who pay them a fortune for the leads.

I think this guy has a massive control issue, he needs to be on top of things. All the gaslighting, the pretense, using people including family and friends) for his own gratification and needs.
If he's questioned or confronted, how dare he be, he loses it.

Here is an example where he violently attacked a number of guards in China, because they questioned him.

part Dr Pescatore's statements in the affidavits:

"He also went on to say that on a trip to China he witnessed Brian try to smuggle antiquities out of the country, and then tried to murder four or five guards with a stanchion when they tried to question him. He described Brian as a “very angry and physically violent person.”
(lots to go through here in this link)

I think this is what might have happened after New Years Eve. Ana confronted him, provoked him, questioned him.

It might have been a major argument (Ana declaring she was leaving him), or something less significant that in his mindset was perceived as an attack or "questioning him".
(According to the guest, things were quite amicable that night , but the two alone, who knows if there was a sensitive discussion, and Ana was already feeling off about things)

He went berserk and attacked her, violently...and it led to her death.

Is the Juice Bar the same place as the Norwell ice cream shop? And BW did or didn't really take his son for ice cream? Sorry, can't remember. :(

But they do say they have evidence that Walshe was at a Home Depot in Rockland on the morning of Jan. 2, during a window of time that he normally was allowed out of his home each day to bring his kids to school, and purchased $450 worth of cleaning supplies and other items. He was wearing a mask and gloves while in the store.

Also that morning, he had taken his older child to a Norwell ice cream shop. There was no school that day. Police, in their affidavit, noted that he could be in violation of the terms of his bail conditions in the federal case.

‘I am an honest, courageous, loving leader,’ ” Walshe wrote. “I repeat this contract to myself on a daily basis. I train every day on 100 percent integrity, 100 percent of the time.”

Seriously?
Flipping outrageous !!!

Yep, it was 1984. I looked to see if any permits have been pulled over the years and there are none listed, so that that tells me the pool was original to initial construction and that there have not been any major additions. General rule of thumb is that any structural project valued at over $10,000 or more requires a general contractor and permit. It’s possible that the home was simply designed to look a bit curated and the portion that looks like an addition was intentional. I highly doubt that any major renovations were done without a permit, because that would inevitably come out in the future when the owner decides to sell, and that is not a problem you want to have as a seller… I’m talking nightmare of epic proportions, that would make selling very difficult without being extremely costly as everything would have to be brought to code before the property could be transferred… and it appears that the home was just sold in 2019 without issue.

i would guess that she didn't mention it. afterall, they've been friends about a year, and it would be something that someone could easily pass judgement on, i suppose.

in any case, him moving to d.c wouldn't even be an option given his status, although she might not really know that either.

for some reason, i think that his mother is not innocent in this, she seems like a pretty solid manipulator and gameplayer who possibly had a hand in BW's understanding of right and wrong and entitlement.

I am also not convinced that there were not shadier dealings somewhere in all of this, related to BW, the mother and even AW, whether she was aware of it or not.
imho

Oh man… this is the kind of quote we hear from these swindlers occasionally that make me wish WS had a “puke emoji” option in the reaction button choices…

adding after reflection:
if you look at all of the comments from the mother- she gives him money "to keep his wife happy", " to provide for his kids", etc. all excuses for her son's actions (and of course, ridiculous. she could've give the money directly to the wife, etc).

Freud would have a field day with this mother-son relationship!

Gosh, I feel like I've missed so much. Do we know any more about this torn-up cloth material?

Law enforcement sources told CNN on Tuesday that materials found included a hacksaw, torn-up cloth material and what appears to be bloodstains.

*****

And OMG... :(:(:(

Law enforcement sources told CNN that investigators hope to collect blood samples from Ana Walshe’s sons so they have a “direct bloodline” sample to compare against traces of blood found in the couple’s basement. Those results could give investigators a result that makes an almost certain match to blood and a bloodied knife found in the basement and apparent bloodstains at the refuse processing plant.

Thanks! The Hull House on the beach is amazing. Location! Location! Location!

The word Peabody is pronounced Pee bah dee by locals. There was, many years ago, may still be, a rather popular hotel in Memphis named The Peabody Hotel that had ducks swimming in the lobby's fountain by day. We said it was: The Pea-body Hotel. Fabulous stay when visiting art tours like the King Tut exhibition.

The couple who spoke in the video from your link really seemed concerned about their situ for the past 6 months. They rented from the Walshe's for four years. It is their apt. Ana owned that was sold the week of Christmas. They described Ana as "rushing to get rid of assets". The gentleman renter said that during their HNY text on the 2nd, BW did not mention his wife even though she was already missing.

What We've Learned About Brian Walshe as Search for Missing Wife, Ana, Continues

Looking at the US District of MA federal docket where the last entry is dated June 17, 2022 -- I don't think it was so much that Ana was "rushing to get rid of assets" as it was that she was likely trying to liquidate equity assets in a feeble attempt to fund another plea agreement, praying for support from the federal court, all before the state could indictment BW for yet another fraud, against his father's estate!

I think the couple believed the 2018 wire fraud case was a done deal in April 2021 when BW entered a plea agreement with the Govt-- a deal that came to an immediate halt prior to sentencing when the Court learned that BK violated the terms of his federal agreement after withholding information about his (illegal) gain from his dad's estate, a case still under criminal investigation.

BK's federal plea agreement already included making restitution of about $500k, agreeing to a $225K Order of Forfeiture (Money Judgement), and forfeiting the Warhol pieces and/or substitute assets given paintings are mysteriously unavailable.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ana had been working around the clock-- trying to pull together a financial rescue for her husband's criminal woes by year-end, and BK's own plan was to make claim on spousal life insurance. He clearly didn't think this past breakfast. o_O

I'm so saddened to think of those three young children in the care of DFS tonight. MOO

He self-admitted himself to the facility at Austen Riggs ...Even as recently as his letter to the Judge in the fraud sentencing, in the last line or so he writes: "I am not a danger to society."
He's possibly a compulsive prevaricator. moo mhoo
snipped for focus @DeDee ^ "He's possibly a compulsive prevaricator."

BW???? Liar, liar, pants on fire.

There, DeDee, fixed it for you. [WINK]
