They found a hacksaw, and he did a Google search about dismembering a body. It’s so, so sad, but given that information alone, I think many of us didn’t expect her body to be found intact. MOO.
Those poor boys.

I am glad he was not a "family annihilator". He killed his wife, but not the children. That is interesting. I wonder if any studies have been done on comparing "Family Annihilators" vs. "Uxoricide".

Godspeed Ana, you have joined Kelsey Berreth, Shannan Watts, Lacey Peterson, Jennifer Dulos, Suzanne Morphew, Susan Powell, Maya Millette ... these are just the names that quickly surfaced in my mind, I know there are more ... I trust they are all together somewhere ... sending guidance and protection to those in domestic violence situations here who need it.

I simply don't understand how sick a mind can become that thinks killing the mother of your children is the answer.

Blessings and prayers to those three little souls who have lost their mama.

My thoughts and prayers are with Ana's family tonight as they try to process this development. We all knew it was coming and they likely did as well, but that won't ease their pain. Nothing will. Ever. :(

I've had to skim to catch up - was there any mention of Murder 1st or 2nd?

All I hear is Ana begging for her children. What horrific punishment she suffered!

I narrowly escaped a long term marriage to a narcissist comorbid with sociopathy. One evening he phoned home to tell me he was holding the Glock to his head. But, I no longer cared. However, I knew, in that moment, that my own life was in grave danger and immediately began planning my escape. I was terrified. I told no one of my plans. The new apartment complex where I moved was gated. We had three evacuations due to arson in my building while I was a resident; therefore, I remained in a hypervigilant state of PTSD for years.

The crazy making behavior this type of personality creates is intentional and done to cause harm to the psyche as well as to keep their victim emotionally confused. He loves me. He loves me not. I received numerous expensive "I'm sorry" gifts without the all important apology.

I believe Ana was liquidating assets so she could escape her harmful marriage. Women should never tell a man when they are planning to leave the relationship. It's too risky. Whether or not Ana told BK, he knew her. He knew her intentions. He put a permanent stop to her plans.

Bring back the Firing Squad. Only four states currently allow the FS. Killers need to fear dying for their hideous crimes.

South Carolina becomes fourth state to approve firing squads

And, to the men out there: STOP killing women. Just stop it. It's become an epidemic. I don't understand the cause of this war on women in America.

I’m so sorry you went through that and so happy you got away safely. Thank you for sharing!

Banfield said that she will be in court tomorrow morning for this case. It may be live broadcast, fingers crossed. Maybe they will tell some of the evidence they have against him.
I think it's at 9am. Brian Entin is getting ready for the Murdoch trial, only Court TV is allowed to have coverage, no phones or Apple watches allowed.

Wednesday, January 18th:
*Arraignment Hearing (murder) (@ 9am ET) - MA - Ana Walshe (39) was last seen at her home in Cohasset shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day, 1/1/23, Cohasset. She was reported missing Wednesday, 1/4/23 from her employer in Washington D.C. as well as her husband. - Brian R. Walshe (47/now 48) arrested (1/8/23), charged & arraigned (1/9/23) with intimidation/misleading police during the investigation into his wife's disappearance. Bond $5M Surety/$500K Cash. Plead not guilty.
*Charged (1/17/23) with murder & improper transport of a body.
1/6/23 Update: Police say Ana Walshe spent New Year’s Eve with husband, kids at family’s Cohasset home & was supposed to be heading to airport early New Year’s day to go to second home in DC. She hasn’t been seen since & Mass State Police, feds now assisting in investigation. Reported that she took a rideshare from her home to Logan airport. They are in contact with the rideshare companies, but they haven't been able to confirm that she actually got in one. They have confirmed with ALL airlines that she didn't get on a plane. Ana Walshe's cell phone pinged in the area of the house on January 1 & 2; Ana’s phone connected to a cellphone tower for last time at 3:14am on 1/2/23 within a quarter-mile of the area of Reservoir Road (0.7 miles from family's home) police said. In addition, investigators found search queries on Walshe’s internet records for “how to dispose of a 115-pound woman’s body” & how to dismember a body, according to two law enforcement sources briefed on the investigation. Investigators turned their focus from a missing persons case to suspicion she may have been killed after receiving new information in the last three days.
1/9/23 Update: In court Monday morning, where Brian Walshe faced arraignment on the charge of misleading investigators who are searching for his missing wife, his attorney confirmed he was on house arrest & wearing a location monitoring device in connection with another criminal case. According to court documents, Walshe is awaiting sentencing in a federal case. Walshe has agreed to plead guilty to wire fraud, interstate transportation for a scheme to defraud & unlawful monetary transaction. The federal charges related to a criminal case that began in 2018, when Walshe was accused of selling two fake Andy Warhol paintings on eBay to a buyer in Los Angeles for $80,000. In a forfeiture order last summer, Walshe was ordered to turn over those paintings along with $225K. Prosecutors say they found a bloody knife & blood in the basement of the Cohasset home belonging to missing woman Ana Walshe & that her husband purchased $450 worth of cleaning supplies the day after she was last seen. A judge ordered Walshe held on $500K cash bail ($5M Surety) Monday after he was arraigned in Quincy District Court. He is charged with misleading police during the investigation into his wife's disappearance. On January 2, he said the only time he left the house was to take his son for ice cream. Prosecutors said surveillance cameras at Home Depot captured him purchased about $450 of supplies. Court documents allege that in Home Depot, Walshe was wearing a black surgical mask, blue surgical gloves & made a cash purchase. Police said items he bought included mops, a bucket & a tarp. Investigators executed a search warrant at the home on Sunday & said they found blood in the basement along with a broken & bloody knife. Beland confirmed that Walshe is on house arrest, pending sentencing in the federal case. The conditions require him to report his whereabouts if he leaves the home. Next hearing on 2/9/23.
1/17/23: Norfolk DA Michael W. Morrissey announces Walshe is charged with the murder of his wife. Additional details & the evidence relating to the charge will be presented. He is expected to be arraigned as early as tomorrow morning, 1/18/23. Walshe will be transported to the Quincy District Court for arraignment on the charge of murder & improper transport of a body. Law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the investigation said Walshe’s phone pinged at two trash & recycling centers where incinerators were used—one in Abington & another in Brockton.

This dude is in for a rude awakening while in jail. He’s used to the finer things in life, trips to Europe, fancy homes, fancy cars, money from Mom whenever he needs it, 2000.00 bottles of wine, etc.,etc. He really doesn’t have to work. It must be rather shocking to have to sleep on a thin mattress on a cot, put up with noise, no steak and lobster for dinner. He now has to schmooze with other criminals instead of the upper elite of Boston. Poor Brian.

He is interested in money and the luxury life the money buys.

He unscrupulously helps himself to others' money because he thinks he can get away with it.

He is also an educated charming man whom people trust.

So I still think the motive will be money-related. Ana's life insurance, or unwillingness to split the assets in case of a divorce. The kids are too young to have any financial assets. To add to it, he probably got attached to the kids since he was the main caregiver.

There might be an issue of forthcoming trial and perhaps he was also afraid of Ana's deposition?

BW's father, besides being a doctor, was interested in Ancient History and took a sabbatical year at Berkeley. But what in the father transformed into creation - he translated several medical manuscripts from ancient Greek, and by the end of his life became an established artist - in the son took destructive forms. BW, too, was the connoisseur of art, but ended up stealing, faking and selling masterpieces. Now stands accused of destroying the life of own wife. The article called him "a child of privilege", but I see him as being unable to achieve the bar set so high by the father (BW is not a workaholic), but also unwilling to settle for the life he deserved.

*Yep, poor Brian <modsnip - WS does not condone violence of any kind> Enjoy your ramen and honey buns... <modsnip>

Walshe, 46, was already in custody after being arraigned in Quincy District Court on Monday, Jan. 9, charged with misleading a police investigation as authorities worked to locate his wife after she was last seen on New Year’s Day. He was ordered held on $500,000 bail.

“If they are pushing forward with murder charges, you can bet they have a substantial amount of stuff that would prove that they have a body or that she’s dead," Dr. Richard Fox said, who teaches forensics at Bunker Hill Community College. "They may not physically have a body, but in this day and age, you actually don't need that."

video:

We realize that her husband, who presently is under arrest for misleading police in their investigation into her disappearance, is presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, we would note that the circumstantial evidence at this point that has been reported in the press points overwhelmingly to her cold-blooded murder by a man with a sociopathic personality.

Ana spent New Year’s Eve with her husband and three kids at their Cohasset home. She was supposed to go to Logan Airport early New Year’s Day around 4:30 a.m. to head to her second residence in Washington D.C., where she spent weekdays working as a regional general manager for the real estate company Tishman Speyer.

Police said Brian first told investigators that she potentially took a rideshare service to Logan. However, police never found any evidence that she made it to the airport and her cellphone, credit, and debit cards had been inactive since her disappearance.

Also, I strongly suspect that his family will be paying for an expensive defense lawyer in this case as well.
RSBM
It will be interesting to see what lengths his mother will take with respect to his legal defense. She had already paid his current lawyer(s) over 500k in his fraud case and was paying his rent. AFAIK he doesn't have any other family who has been willing to help him. <modsnip - not victim friendly>. MOO
