As a mother, this would haunt me for the rest of my life .... sooo sad!!

“She just said, ‘Please, mama. Come tomorrow,’”
I do wonder.. how likely is that Ana’s mom would come to the US “ tomorrow “? Serbia requires visa at the entry and I don’t think you can obtain visa overnight or same morning as the flight?
Would that even be possible to come to the US on such a short notice?

I’m European and never been to the US before so I don’t really know how that works.

Wow - such good-hearted people willing to step in for Ana's kids! This is such good news. Those little fellows need to be with someone who knew their mom.

MOO
And they really need to take the dog in as well.

Ljubicic, speaking with Fox, elaborated on Brian Walshe and his relationship with her daughter. Ljubicic said that Ana Walshe was at times “irritated” with the limitations their family had to navigate due to her husband’s home confinement.
I would place the blame right where it belongs, and be irritated with the husband.

I am European, have been to the US, and can jump in to explain visa and how it works - you apply for a visa and the process is really exhausting and can last for a few weeks (the interview is first scheduled and you wait for it, it can take days or weeks to get an interview, after the interview at the embassy there is also some waiting). However, when you once got yourself the visa you can always go to the US and be there for up to 6 months and you need no preparation to just pack up and leave. The visa can have a varying duration, for me, it has always been 10 years. So if her mother has already visited her, and for all we know she did visit often, she would have a visa and she could really just pack her bags and be there the following day.

Potential pieces of evidence in the case have been discovered since her disappearance, including with prosecutors called a bloody knife found in the basement of the home.

In addition, investigators found a rug with blood on it and a hacksaw during a search of a trash transfer station in Peabody, Massachusetts, sources told our sister station WCVB.

Late last week, an August 2014 police report from Washington, D.C., came to light. In it, Ana Knipp, the now-missing woman’s maiden name at the time, told the Metropolitan Police Department that Brian Walshe "made a statement over the telephone that he was going to kill [Ana] and her friend." The report did not specifically name Brian Walshe but police confirmed to WCVB that he is linked to the complaint.

Meanwhile, neighbors and friends are doing what they can to support the couple's three young boys. One even filled out an application with the Department of Children and Families to care for the kids. The boys – 6, 4 and 2 – are in state custody.

  • Ana Walshe's friends say the missing mom became 'pushy' before disappearance
  • Walshe, 39, disappeared in mysterious circumstances on New Year's Day 2023
  • Her husband was arrested for misleading the authorities and pleaded not guilty

From article on Boston-dot-com:
Ana Walshe’s mother, Milanka Ljubicic, told Fox News Digital that her daughter asked her to travel from Serbia to Washington, D.C. in a text message sent on Christmas Day.
“She just said, ‘Please, mama. Come tomorrow,’” Ljubicic said in an interview that was conducted in Belgrade. “Which means, that clearly, there must have been some problems.”
Ljubicic said that her daughter did not give a reason for her urgent request, and Ljubicic said that she could not travel on such short notice.
“I can’t get myself together in one day. I am 69 years old, I have to get my medications and a thousand other things,” she said during the interview, which Fox translated into English.
Ljubicic suggested that she visit on Jan. 5 or 6 instead. But Ana Walshe told her mother that she and her husband, Brian, were making plans to visit Serbia in February.

(That last part doesn’t make much sense to me.)

Sometimes the tone of the conversation makes a complete turn around when an unwelcomed person walks into the room. :/

On the last point, maybe BW told Ana he could request permission to travel?

Maybe that was their plan, to request permission to travel and then never come back? Pure speculation. If then she decided she didn't want to do that since she'd also become a wanted woman for helping a fugitive, that could have caused a problem.

I have had clients out on bail for financial crimes who have received permission to travel to other states and in one case internationally to visit family. But it is very difficult and you need a very good reason - like a family member is dying. And even in that case, you need a very sympathetic prosecutor and judge.

One thing that I still don’t understand is how come he( supposedly IMO )got rid of a body and evidence( rugs etc) but left blooded weapon in the house. If of course it was the knife that was used. Such an odd thing.
IMO

I’ve been considering the last time Ana was seen by a “family member” and I don’t think anyone has mentioned the suitcases.

Ana lived 5 days a week in Washington and 2 days a week with her family.

I find it interesting that she was seen with suitcases (plural). Why would she need suitcases? I know several people who have this arrangement for work and they go back and forth with just a small overnight bag for toiletries, meds etc. They have clothes and everything else in both locations.

Why would Ana have multiple suitcases?

There’s always a snippet of truth in a lie.

Sadly, and in a macabre way, Ana probably was last seen with suitcases but not on January 1st. I believe her dismembered body was placed in the suitcases and walked out the door with her killer.

Are suitcases missing?

Find the suitcases and we most likely will find Ana.

Briefly back to the timeline topic of Christmas, it's possible it wasn't celebrated in Dec or at all in their household. I have friends from Eastern Europe who have their large holiday celebrations on New Years (due to parents being raised in USSR, as a holdover from the time of Stalin, I think -- not sure this would apply to Serbia but my geography is abysmal). I also have friends who follow the Orthodox calendar which puts Christmas in January.

Ana posted a Christmas tree in early December on Instagram, which does appear to be in the Walshe home, but I don't see too many mentions of family Christmases on her social media. I wonder if she deleted or privated some old posts?

It was clear how corrupt this man was, and I am convinced they were both drunk on the decadence.

But ---if he has been jailed sooner because of his obvious crimes, she would be alive.

Authorities have blood on their hands, if you ask me. MOO

A psychotherapist who specializes in domestic violence says she suspects missing wife Ana Walshe "was in an abusive relationship where she was endangered."

The 39 year old has been missing since New Year's Day, while her husband—convicted conman Brian Walshe—has been charged with misleading investigators after allegedly lying about his whereabouts on January 2.

It has transpired that Ana Walshe had once called the police in fearthat Brian Walshe was going to kill her after he allegedly threatened her and a friend. Photos have also emerged showing the mom-of-three with facial injuries, although there is no evidence her husband was responsible.

In a court case about a financial dispute back in 2019, Brian Walshe was described by a family friend as "a sociopath but also a very angry and physically violent person."

2018

Brian Walshe’s father Thomas Walshe dies while travelling in India in September.

The elder Walshe, a renowned neurologist, writes Brian out of his will after he had duped his father out of nearly $1m in a real estate deal, according to affidavits provided to the Plymouth Probate Court.

Brian Walshe tries unsuccessfully to have his father’s will declared void, and seizes his father’s expensive art collection, and sell his property, according to court documents.

Dr Fred Pescatore, a longtime family friend, writes in a sworn affidavit that Brian is deceitful and dangerous, adding he had “witnessed firsthand what Brian was capable of”.

“Brian is not only a sociopath, but also a very angry and physically violent person,” Dr Pescatore wrote.

On 31 October, Brian Walshe is indicted on federal charges of stealing two Andy Warhol paintings, offering them for sale on eBay and delivering counterfeits.

He initially pleaded not guilty to charges including wire fraud and possession of converted goods. In April 2021, he changes his plea to guilty and is placed under house arrest, and must receive permission from authorities in advance

Well, we know for a fact that BW wasn't leaving the country in February 2023 under his bond conditions, given the imposition of his sentence for art fraud was delayed and still pending.

And didn't Ana visit Serbia sometime in November?
Confirming Ana visited Mom earlier:

Ana Walshe's mother then said she 'can't believe' her son-in-law could be responsible for her daughter's disappearance.

She said Ana, 39, visited her in Belgrade in November and December last year and she never said a bad word about her husband.

IMO, this report (requiring registration to access) of the couple selling ALL of their property is rubbish-- and the media source misrepresenting comments by others.

Reportedly, they were renting their current Cohasset residence. The previous Cohasset residence was sold in March 2022 and a DC property townhome where Ana was living was purchased. The Revere, MA rental was also sold with an unnamed property in escrow.

The selling of owned assets to buy others, reported by Ms Walshe's tenants, is not suspicious in and of itself.

Yeah sure, list a couple of stolen Warhol paintings on ebay. Heh, gotta love that business plan! What could possibly go wrong.

Eeeek!

My friend just forwarded me this from Ana’s Instagram circa all the way back in 2018.

The post is titled, “Mild concussion, bruised hip and a cut… #Vulnerability”

View attachment 395019

When people asked her what happened she responded “freshly buffed marble floors at work”… I hope that’s really all it was! My heart is already breaking for this woman… I hope this was just an innocent slip and fall and nothing more. :(

I don't buy the slip and fall. I tried to imagine myself standing up (even on a slippery floor) and having the ground make that kind of a mark on my eye/forehead. Very difficult to imagine a way to get it done without your arms involuntarily getting between your eye and the ground. Not impossible, but improbable, IMO.

She could have hit something like a doorknob or the edge of an end table on the way down.

Its possible that it was an accident, I gave myself black eye and cracked ribs by walking and looking over my phone and tripped over hitting my right side including face . Once you hit cheek bone black eye forms.
Not saying that BW didn’t cause it, because I obviously don’t know. IMO

Ana Walshe's Washington DC job was a point of tension with her husband as the missing Massachusetts mom was seen without her wedding ring weeks before disappearing.

Walshe, 39, who disappeared from her Cohasset home on New Year's, appeared in several of her latest Instagram photos without her wedding ring as it was reported the couple had a 'very tense Christmas.'

Two weeks before her disappearance, the mom-of-three posed with Paul Wharton, a British gin entrepreneur, at his book signing in Washington DC. The two were locked in a tight embrace as they smile at the camera. Her ring reappeared days later when she posted a birthday tribute to her two-year-old on December 17.
