This whole charade with the " pristine " handling of the evidence is such a joke. Look at that freaking bag?? It looks like it was used by a homeless person to carry around their stuff for a couple of months. It's been opened more time than jen mcabe's mouth when she made 200 phone calls in 2 days!

And what's with the clothes mounted in glass or plastic? It's all scrunched up. They just made it harder for the jury to look at the evidence themselves. More shenanigans by CW in my opinion!
Waiting on Alessi or Jackson to get back to reality.

I'm watching Emily Baker's trial coverage and she explained that it was essentially the court's ruling that he be referred to as Mr. O'Keefe and that all of the officers testifying wear civilian clothes and not their uniforms. I'll try to find a better explanation, since I forgot some of what she said. tl:dr The court said to call him Mr. O'Keefe.
I gather due to JOK having been off-duty?
It changes the dynamics of everything.
imo

I don't know how it works in Boston/Canton but, I have a family member who is a Police Officer for St. Louis County, MO and he is required to carry his firearm, badge and identification when off-duty.
From what I can find online, looks like neither Boston or Canton mandate off duty carry.

Or, could it be seen as influencing the jury against Karen? I’m unsure

Trooper Bukhenik said earlier: ‘The reason why we pair up is... people could get fired or retire and no longer be able to testify or provide their resource in future".

I have a feeling the CW won’t be calling Proctor…
The CW seems to be avoiding Proctor like the plague….you know, the lead investigating officer on this case

Why are the shoelaces untied?
ETA: Scene photos would have been nice so that we could see if his sock was completely on or halfway off. I would imagine that the sock wouldn't be on all the way if he was "knocked out of his shoe".
IMO.
I have never in my life witnessed police officers taking photos at the scene of a horrific accident as life saving measures were under way.

IMO

it’s bugging me about why an ambulance wasn’t called. IF IN FACT, there was a physical altercation and JO accidentally fell back and hit his head, rendering him unconscious, why not call paramedics?
1) was it obvious that JO had no defensive wounds ?
2) those involved had drugs in their system and didn’t want to undergo blood test ?
3) whoever started the fight or threw the fatal blow would not hold up under the scrutiny of an investigation ?
4) they were all drunk and just made a poor choice in not calling for help
What else?
5.) A dead cop in your front yard is far better than one in your basement

Thanks.
Does that rule change when they are out and about in bars drinking or they're allowed to be intoxicated and armed in public?
I don't know the answer to that. Our family member is not a bar type person.

Ok - I reviewed his testimony from trial 1 and confirmed that YB did NOT mention Karen telling him in interview that John had hit his head. Today is the first time he’s ever mentioned it - in fact, the first time anyone has ever mentioned it. It’s not in Proctor’s notes of his interview of Karen that YB attended. Why?

IMO it’s to try to make Karen look like she was coming up with some excuse for John’s head injuries.

Going down the local rabbithole today, and it's pretty enlightening.

Can you direct me to where the locals are posting?

I'm not expecting paramedics to take photos, but I do expect law enforcement who responded to actually document the scene.
Body cams would have been extremely helpful in this case. Hopefully they've provided those since.
IMO.

If you google KR (trial discussion)the google results include a discussion written by Canton Ma locals. I can’t link it here due to Terms Of Service.

Since Dighton Police Sgt. Nicholas Barros is on the defense witness list it would appear he will repeat his previous trial one testimony as to the taillight only being cracked when at KR's parents house before being towed.

Dighton police sgt. says Read’s taillight was cracked when he saw the vehicle outside her parents’ home

The right rear taillight on Karen Read’s SUV was cracked when law enforcement arrived at her parents’ home in Dighton to seize the vehicle the afternoon of Jan. 29, 2022, Dighton Police Sgt. Nicholas Barros testified.

As he began his shift at 8 a.m. that day, Barros said he learned that a Dighton resident — later identified as Read’s father — had called 911 earlier that morning for a ride to a hospital in Brockton “due to his daughter’s boyfriend passing away.”

He testified he received a call from Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office around 2:30 p.m. on the 29th, informing him they were coming to Dighton to retrieve a vehicle involved in a homicide. Barros said State Police Trooper Michael Proctor asked him to contact the police department’s contracted tow company to meet officers at Read’s parents’ home.

Barros confirmed he saw a black Lexus SUV sitting in the driveway upon his arrival.

“I saw that there was some damage to the right rear taillight,” he recalled. “To my best ability and recollection, that taillight was not completely damaged. It was cracked, and a piece was missing. But not completely damaged.”

He said he also saw a dent on the vehicle’s rear quarter panel, near the taillight.

The defense team did not cross-examine Barros.

Wow. Totally contradictory to the testimony we heard from YB this morning that the entire tailight cover was missing at Karen’s parents house.

IMO it’s a matter of perspective.
Her entire taillight wasn’t damaged.

Maybe because it never happened??
Maybe KR's Dad, Mom or even KR herself can testify what they heard/said? They were all present.

YES
"that taillight was not completely damaged. It was cracked, and a piece was missing. But not completely damaged.”

A PIECE WAS MISSING, not all these pieces being pulled out of evidence bags. JMOO
