I will forgive Welcher's corny blue paint transfer skit if he will personally test your thesis.

John, mortally wounded, was kept warm in the house, propped up against a wall, vomit down his front, for hours before being moved to the lawn.

MOO
And asking themselves: "Did we kill him, did we kill him. Did we kill him?"

Then: "Better get him out of the house!"

IMO....mind's eye....

AJ: Let's talk about that truth for a second. What you told those LE agents on Aug 9, 2023 was:

"You recalled seeing Higgins at the station later that day on Saturday. Deven thought it was also weird that Higgins and Chief Kenny Berkowitz were by themselves in the sallyport of the police department by themselves while Karen Read's car was parked inside. Higgins was a witness and present at the gathering where O'Keefe was found dead outside and then he was in the presence of important evidence. You were sitting at dispatch by yourself and saw on the camera outside of the sallyport when they walked in... You never saw them leave, them being Brian Higgins and Chief Ken Berkowitz, you never saw them leave, but you recall thinking to yourself they were in the sallyport for a wildly long time together in there."

Deven's statement to the FBI is specific and detailed. She even had her lawyer with her during her meeting with the FBI. I believe that Deven did see those two as she claimed. She was carrying that information around with her for more than a year after JOK's death and she never went to the police with it until the FBI came to her. But she had a lawyer with her so she obviously knew the importance of her statement.

She said she couldn't remember the facts from memory or the media to muddy the waters. She kept saying she gave the statement "in good faith".

There's just no other way to look at this than she is now lying to protect her job, her reputation, and her co-workers. She feels strong in her lies because she has the assurance from the top brass of her police department to have her back.

I think she was most hostile at the fact she was being brought into a public forum to testify in front of cameras instead of the defense just accepting her retraction in private. She now has everyone in her police department knowing the truth she said to the FBI that day. Everybody now knows her as a snitch.

I've not been able to find any truly convincing explanation for why AJ whiffed on the Proctor question. The way it played was miles better for Brennan than the version of the trial Lally got. Sure the texts came in, but as Bederow notes, Yannetti blundered by allowing Brennan to read them first. And you don't get to fishing expedition into Proctor's bias and alleged framing.

YES!! You don't forget things like that!

And now can't even remember if there were monitors throughout police headquarters? You just don't forget things like that. IMO.

How she lives with herself is beyond me. This whole case gives LE a black eye, when it is so important that trust should be rebuilt.

Best idea for the defense to put Devers on the stand and she sure did deliver.
Another liar and this one really exposed the Blue Wall.
Enter Commissioner Cox.

imo
If she left at 3:45pm and KR's car was not brought into the Sally port until 5-5:30pm, how is it a lie that she couldn't have seen B and H in the Sally port that afternoon with the Lexus?

Imagine if that mouthy cop pulled you over to give you a minor traffic violation. I probably would give her my piece of mind and would be hauled off to jail. I can't stand spoiled rotten, lying eyerollers. She needs some old school discipline and some manners 101 class. moo
Right there with ya.
Hopefully she watched her testimony/behavior being critiqued across the media last night.

I posted this last night

"This may come back to bite her in the tush?

Can Dever testifing today on having a "false memory" and to the FBI to boot, effect her prior cases, convictions and future arrests/cases?

Even without her "false memory" I sure as hell wouldn't want to deal with her in her LE position.
Nasty and arrogant which came very easily to her."
imo

I'm shocked that the anit-Kr people are perfectly fine with now 2 people lying to the FBI! The testimony from Dever was appalling behavior from a supposedly honest cop IMO.
Fine with people lying to the FBI, fine with people changing their answers from one trial to the next, fine with shoddy or completely missing chains of custody, fine with Proctor’s abominable behavior… the list goes on and on. MOO

There was no proof presented that she left at 3:45 pm and taking her word on anything is a bridge too far.
imo

Link to two different blood samples on John’s shirt please.
Linda7NJ, testimony from forensic scientists analyzed samples from John's clothing and found dna profiles present.

Two key findings related to different blood samples on JO's clothes were:

One stain on his sweatshirt had dna from both JO and an unknown individual.

Multiple places on JO's jeans were analyzed, and some were found to contain dna from two or even three individuals, with one contributor being exponentially more likely to be O'Keefe than anyone else.

The forensic scientists stated that they could not identify the other dna contributors on JO's clothing. They had to consede during testimony they couldn't because LE never took blood/dna samples from those who were in that house that night.
