So interesting to read your opinion.

I have never heard of anyone having such a specific "false" memory. She was so sure of seeing the two men in the sally port that she relayed it all to the FBI - with specifics - including Karen Read's exact car.. that Brian Higgins had been at the party and was a witness...
It was only after the Feds released information in this case, including her fbi interview, before the second trial that she decided she had a false memory..
Karen Read’s trial is postponed after feds release tidal wave of data on murder case

It seems to me that once this info was public it was not good for her career and her LE friends told her that. So she recanted. So I very much believe that the FBI still has an eye on her at BPD despite whatever they told her.

I don't fault her as she is very young and I think she got caught in a pickle.
There seemed to be no good alternative for her. I felt I could see that on her face as she tried to weigh her answers before committing to them.
I am only sorry that she did not have a trusted adult to go to that had her long term best interest at heart.

These life decisions are so hard - the old Two Roads diverged. I hope she feels she chose wisely.

If she left the police dept at 3:45 and the Lexus wasn't there until hours later and none of that was at all questioned by the defense when Officer Dever was on the stand, then the only logical and provable accounting is that it was a mistake in her memory when she originally was interviewed. She corrected that as soon as she realized it. She was never called at the first trial so I'm guessing the defense was just fine with her correction at that time.

It's only now, when IMO, their case seems to be not so great since the new Lexus/iPhone data, bad cross examination of CW witnesses and no Proctor on the stand, that Officer Dever is subpoenaed and put up there to be pressured by the defense, JMO. Of course this is all just my opinion of these matters.

Dr. Russell is such a good witness. She explains everything in such a believable, simple way and doesn’t get flustered.
Hard to be shaken when your foundation is on rock and not sand! MOO

Alessi really embodied this old saying today when he pounded the podium

"If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither the facts nor the law, pound the table."

IMO

In some instances a young dog can be taught to be aggressive and attack. I wouldn't be surprised if given the psuedo-macho environment in that household that might have happened here, IMO. Cloe is also a victim in this whole thing.
I don’t think Chloe is housed away in some witness protection program….but believe that she has been sent to Rainbow Bridge (trying to say this nicely)…but don’t think she’ll be waiting for her owners there.

I think you are confusing Alessi with Whitey Bulger's buddy Hank. JMO

How much longer is brennan going to beat the same dead horse. He hasn't tripped up the good doctor and he's not going to. She is sharp as a tack. JMOO

i could understand someone not remembering something and later correct their testimony if they happen to recall something they were unable to recollect earlier. It is very hard to believe someone who testifies to having seen something and then recants that testimony labeling it a "false memory". Did she dream it or have a vision.? It is so hard to give her testimony any credibility. Just imagine if everyone changed their stated testimony by simply labeling it a "false memory" It would be laughable if this situation was not so serious.

iMO you could say the FBI case has been “paused“ perhaps it’s waiting for the result of this trial and the Birchmore trial. Question would be will they do anything about it?

I sure hope so. I feel sorry for the people of Massachusetts. Historically Massachusetts, one of the original 13 colonies, has a wonderful presence and historic value. The founders have got to be ashamed of what is going on, especially in this area of the state.

@rescuemom :) -
Don't feel sorry for us - I have lived in Norfolk County for 40 plus years - but NOT Canton.
It is a great place to live and a wonderul quality of life. It still has a wonderful presence and historic value. It's full of people just living their lives and being good neighbors. I would recommend the area and New England in a heartbeat.

For work I traveled through out the country and I dealt with many municipalities - there are problems and corruption everywhere. Boston metro just happens to be on full display for all the world to see - and it's not an attractive underbelly.
Sometimes you don't know about the corruption etc that exists until the "rock" gets turned over

She also told the FBI of her memory in August 2023, before any video came out or a single news article on it. Also before she spoke to the defense (last April 2024). So there’s literally no way she had heard it from a secondhand source, IMO

Some people will do ANYTHING for money.

Shame on you Dever. The stink will not wash off.

It’s refreshing to see and hear a police officer act like a respectful human being with concise answers.

IIRC, wasn’t Chloe adapted from a shelter in TX? Did Chloe flunk K-9 training? ETA clarification.
She was adopted from a shelter in Texas but I don’t think we know anything about any training she may have had. I don’t think we even know how old she was when they adopted her.

FINALLY SOMEONE IS TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT THE TAIL LIGHT.

  • #399
So Sgt Barros says that Karen’s tail light was NOT damaged to the extent that we see it when he saw the vehicle at Karen’s house in Dighton. He says at 3:00-3:15pm on 1/29, it was nowhere near as damaged. He says the middle section of the tail light was completely intact when he saw it.

A very credible witness. Nothing to hide and nothing to gain by lying for the defense. I struggle to imagine how his testimony can be discounted. MOO

Omg, this testimony is damning to the CW's case. A witness who saw the tail light before it reached the Sally port. This is incredible. Sorry, just started watching this police witness a moment ago. Wow.
