Then why wasn't she arrested by LE for OUI?? ???? I don't understand how because she was not seen by LE behind the wheel of a car she can be charged.

This is likely exactly what the jury is arguing over, lol. We know from them asking if clips are evidence, they probably are arguing over whether her statements alone of ‘feeling buzzed’ and saying she ‘probably shouldn’t have been driving’ are enough to convict her on OUI. All MOO/speculation.

I'm interested to know if it's legal to poll a hung jury in respect of any non-unanimious verdicts.

I thought deliberations were a matter for jurors to choose whether to discuss or not. Not talking about any unanimous verdicts.

IMO.....after watching BOTH trials.....prosecution did more than make mistakes.....they lied repeatedly. Created false evidence, and hid exculpatory evidence!!

ADMIN NOTE:

Okay folks, we know you're all getting antsy, and yes it's funny, but please move on from the frivolity over the cussin' and such :)

It can end up causing a nightmare in a thread, and we don't want to have to come back in here and remove 100+ posts and ...

Thanks !!

I have thought about my time here at WS. On so many threads (especially death of children threads), I hear one poster after another declare that we are here for that person. That, even though the people who should have loved them in life killed them, we are here to make sure that they receive justice. We all care about that person even though we did not actually know them! I am here to tell you that there are many, many dedicated, loving, smart, and wonderful people here on WS that care about John O'Keefe.

How can we care about John and still support Karen? Because we have spent hours upon hours of our own personal time and energy watching this trial, investigating the circumstances, discussing the trial at nauseam, and defending our position at nauseam. We have followed the evidence we believe and we believe that the woman that John loved and whom loved him is not guilty.

My way of honoring John is to stand up to this injustice. There was never a true investigation in to the death of John. That is a true and complete tragedy. The LE that should have cared more about this case because he was on of their own; but they failed him. They didn't even put a scintilla of time that we have invested in to this case to solve the circumstances of his death. They didn't interview everyone that he interacted with that night. They didn't follow proper police protocol : investigate the scene which includes going in the house, document where exactly he was found (even if it happens after he is loaded in the ambulance), red solo cups, leaf blower, grocery bag from neighbor, chain of custody, removing LE that were personally involved with witnesses from the investigation, interviews not conducted in a timely manner, gathering any video surveillance in a timely manner, on and on and on. LE that should have wanted to make certain that this case was solved made enough mistakes in this case to get fired. A tragedy indeed. Injustice complete. An investigation is supposed to be like a story. You start at the beginning and find out what the ending is by following ALL of the bread crumbs. In this case, the lead investigator found a path and followed it without caring about the truth.

The truth will never be known unless someone comes forward to tell the whole story.

I tend to stay on the missing persons side of true crime and tune out once someone's been found, but my boss has been chattering about this case a lot and I told her I'm on this forum where there are thousands of messages following the trial and she's interested in knowing what y'all think. I told her there's way too many posts and I just check in every once in a while 😅 Thanks for keeping me in the know though lol

It is something else to watch/listen to the crowd go almost completely silent when something breaks.
IMO.

I'm like , do I bring my sandwich outside where I PREFER TO LIVE WHEN WARM, or sit here and not miss one thing, due to otherwise having to keep staring at the phone and book etc etc all at the same time. I have law nerd and she does beep.. but then I just run inside in case. not look at the message, takes valuable time. I do NOT want to miss O'Keefe's.. I have tv, this on laptop and court tv on laptop.. I trust nothing.
