Very nicely said from KR and Dad!

I believe John O'Keefe's family has a civil suit against Karen. That is what Court TV said earlier. I'll try to find a link to confirm.
Remember, in a civil suit, it is a preponderance of the evidence. Less is needed to prove that Karen was responsible for the death of John in a civil suit.

Just woke up from a nap I took with my 3 year old during a thunderstorm. Went back and watched the verdict being read and I’m unexpectedly in tears because I’m so happy! That roar from the crowd outside was pretty awesome!! 🎉🎉🎉

I didn't follow the coverage very much, but there was reasonable doubt with the dog bite marks and whatnot. I'm sure she'll be under police surveillance forever, but I'm glad the jury took the instructions seriously.
Why would she be under police surveillance. She was found not guilty. She can't be tried for the same crime again.

Was it just me but was the reading of the verdict confusing in itself?
I agree. That reading of verdicts was a bit odd and not consistent. But it doesn't matter that much.

I wouldn’t even go have a drink if I were here. Probation officer would probably immediately run up on her with her first probation drug test JMO

YAYYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYAY!! I WILL CELEBRATING WITH A FEW DRINKS LATER. Now if only they would go after the real people who killed John O'Keefe....

Does this poor woman finally get her car back? I understand she has been making payments on it all this time.

OMG. I take three hours to do "real" work, and come back to a thread title change that makes me so freaking happy. Now to catch up on 20+ pages of posts. I'm feeling giddy about this in a way that's so bizarre to me.

i can't imagine how hard this is for JOK's family to see everyone cheer and celebrate. imo, the jury got it right, but i can't help but to think about them.
In essence this was a true victory for John!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳

I relistened and the baliff seemed to not ask the question re count 2 correctly. He initially asked if they found her guilty or not of count two, but didn't add "or any of the lesser included charges" and that seems to have been what tripped up the foreman.

I think even the verdict reading was chaotic, but at least it’s inkeeping with the rest of the trial and courtroom shenanigans during this trial.

Chaotic process, correct verdict!

Civil suit filed against Karen Read by John O'Keefe's family.

The suit is seeking at least $50,000 in damages including "reasonably expected society, companionship, comfort, guidance, counsel, net income, services, assistance, protection, care, and advice to next of kin."

Wow!
I haven't followed this case at all. But it sounds like the evidence just was not there and it sounded like a police cover up IMO.

A bit different from LE becoming fixated on having the person responsible.

Was it that clear to everyone what happened?

Do we know that consuming alcohol is against the terms of her probation? It wasn't for her bond. But she hasn't been able to drive this entire time, which is probably why they didn't bother suspending her driver's license. Hopefully she gets her car back now.

Proctor should have to pay for the new taillight

Extremely clear to me. The tail light diffuser rabbit hole… I believe there was AT LEAST one officer who participated in framing Karen.

Bryan Kohberger
He is sooo guilty!!
I was on that from the beginning but have gotten away from it. With all the postponing I'm not sure when the trial is. I'll just start watching not knowing much about it like I did this one.
