Where would you go on foot at dusk or at night taking your purse but not your dog? When you have a dog it can be a problem leaving them alone for too long. It's also more convenient to take the dog if you're walking somewhere anyway, so he might be more relaxed later on when you want to retire or have some quiet time. So why didn't she take him?

Possible reasons
- She left voluntarily or was forced to leave with someone by car who didn't want the dog with them.
- She went to a nearby shop where dogs are not allowed inside and she didn't want to tie him outside.
- She went to visit a neighbour who wouldn't want the dog to come along.

MOO.

I'm not sure that we know that Sandra made it home.

I’m to see more people popping in for Sandra. :) I’ve been checking every day hopping for answers...
I wonder about her smoking habit. Maybe she was known to go for a walk and a smoke. That could be why she brought the purse, to hold her carton. JMO

Here's my latest thought with respect to the family member who dropped her off. We know from the Dateline article linked above that the same person was also responsible for transporting the grandchildren. The article seems to indicate that the grandchildren were with her when Sandra dropped the car off at the mechanic, or am I reading it totally wrong? So now I'm wondering were the children still in the car during the stop at Cumberland Farms and when Sandra was left at home? If so, then this is truly a VERY close family member to be trusted to take the children in car seats as well.

It's a fact her lights were left on. People turn on their lights at night. I really don't think it's as likely that she decided to go walking through the woods at night as it would be for her to go to the package (not packaging) store. (A package store is a liquor store.) I doubt we'll learn many new facts. It's been over 40 days.

Package store, got it, I misread, thank you.

Glad to have new insight and ideas here at WS. A lot of what we discuss stems from what we might do in similar situations. I walk late into the evening, for example, sometimes in parks. But I cannot assume for one second without knowing it for a fact that Sandra would do the same - or would never do the same. We just don't know. Also, the park there is not all "woods" and in fact has quite a bit of area that is open.

I have no doubt that LE is working Sandra's case and that unless she has suicided, we will indeed hear more. Let's keep the hope here that her family and those who love and care about Sandra get the answers they need soon.

ETA: I'd really like to know why we don't know who dropped Sandra off that afternoon.

Hi, new here. Testing to see if I can post, could not right after signing up.

OK, it works.

I looked up the deeds, and she traded her house in Quincy back and forth with a man, then to both of them, then to him, then back to her in 2017, and finally she sold it in April for $385K. She bought the house in Hanson for $240K. So she probably cleared some money.

And as someone already mentioned, her daughter's name is jointly on her deed in Hanson.

There is a Boston 25 FB post by Bob Ward IIRC that said her ID seemed to be missing (paraphrasing). MOO

ETA: Found it! :) Bob Ward Boston 25 News
Ok I haven’t seen the video surveillance- did she have her purse leaving the Cumbys? To me that would help make the case that she did make it home. It doesn’t prove that she didn’t because she may have left the purse in the vehicle when she ran into to buy the cigarettes. Also, I often take just my debit card and license and throw it in a smaller wallet or in my front pocket, so I don’t have to lug my bag into a store. That could be one reason the ID was not in there. Would it be in the car at the mechanics? Maybe she keeps it in the glove box with her registration. So many questions.

Thank you for this valuable information, and I believe, too, that someone close to her either threatened her or harmed her.

Could be, but some points against this would be: her relatives (not just the daughter) describe her as a homebody-type of person, her bank accounts have not been touched/accessed since she disappeared, and her grandkids were said to be her life so it would be really strange for her to leave the daughter's family in the lurch for child care since she was their regular caregiver. So it seems like it would be really out of character for her to just want to be gone without telling family her plans.

and then, if voluntarily gone, where would she go? run off with a friend? she seems to have lived in a small area of MA all her life (?); she has no car; she is a "home body."

Police still searching for missing Hanson woman who disappeared six weeks ago - The Boston Globe
Police are continuing to search for a missing Hanson woman who was last seen almost six weeks ago, but there is no evidence of foul play, police said.

[...]

“We have no indication that she did not walk out of there on her own,” he said.

Police searched the area surrounding Crispo’s home in case she had walked off, gotten lost, or had a medical emergency, Miksch said. On Aug. 17, Hanson police posted on Facebook that there would be heavy law enforcement activity in Monponsett as they searched for Crispo on foot and on ATVs.

“Sometimes life doesn’t seem fair. Sometimes bad things happened to innocent people. Not knowing how, why or what happened to you is devastating. Please if anyone has any information on what happened to my mother please contact police. This is your neighbor, a mother, a grandmother.”

If there was a crime, may we focus on Motive?
Violent crime? Theft/burglary? Romantic triangle? Other?

Did SC meet anyone new since she moved? Does her property "back up" to anyone or anything? And, in the back of my mind, I am asking: was she ever depressed?
Daughter says she seemed happy caring for the children, but...?

I know that these statistics can be misleading at times, but Hanson has a low crime rate:

Hanson, MA crime analytics
With a crime rate for both violent and property crime combined of 7 per 1,000 residents, the crime rate in Hanson is one of the lower rates in America among communities of all sizes (lower than 79% of America's communities). One's chance of becoming a victim of crime in Hanson is one in 135.

Since Laina was still in Boston, another family member picked up Sandra and the boys and drove Sandra to drop off the vehicle at a mechanic shop. Security footage shows Sandra getting out of the car and going into a Cumberland Farms to buy cigarettes, after which she was taken home.

Laina said she discovered the back door was unlocked. Once inside, she noticed her mother’s shoes and purse were gone. The air conditioning and lights had been left on. Inside the refrigerator, there was watermelon already cut up and ready for the boys to eat.

The house was left in a condition that is consistent with going to the auto shop.

There is no evidence that Sandra, her shoes, or purse, ever made it back to the house after Cumby's.
