Personally I think she left willingly with someone she knew and did not expect to be gone long, which is why she left lights/air conditioning on and diapers in the trash. JMO.

Her daughter said that "all" the lights were left on. That to me would suggest leaving in a hurry. How long was she supposed to be gone? A few minutes, half an hour? She took her purse, too.

I can't answer your questions but I do know that the day she disappeared would have been hot, in the 80s, and likely quite humid. There may have been a breeze off the nearby lake, but maybe not. The sun would have been setting by 7:40 and it would have been getting dark.

If I leave to do something that will take me less than 2 hours or so I definitely don't turn off my air conditioning in August, which is sticky and disagreeable in MA. And if I leave after dark, I usually leave some lights on both inside and out, for when I return. Maybe if I lived alone except for my dog I'd leave them all.

I think it’s hard to pinpoint if all of her lights were on or most. We often leave our lights on in one or two rooms for security purposes to look like someone is home. We also have a dog that “usually” barks when someone comes near the house. Even when I drive ten minutes to pickup my child, I bring my bag. The case is so puzzling because there is so little to go on. IMO.

Agreed. Even rivalry and jealousy as motives bring about a "gain" to the perpetrator...they eliminate an obstacle to their own happiness, etc. I think if we look only at who could gain, we are ignoring some possibilities. What about involuntary manslaughter on the part of someone she knew? Criminal negligence on the part of someone she knew, leading to her death? People can and do go to jail for negligent actions and especially if they took steps to conceal a death or a crime.

I am only seeing financial gain in this case. Hello, I am very close to Hanson where Sandra dissapeared from. I have been reading everyone's posts. I think that she left with someone for sure, someone she knew. Possibly a new interest a male? And possibly he got fresh with her and something bad happened? I hope Sandra Is found alive and well, and that nothing has happened to her. I can't imagine not knowing what happened to my mother or any other family member. It must be agonizing!!! I hope there is a good answer on this case and very soon. Christmas is going to be so hard on the family

There are pictures of the house on Zillow. Cooling system is listed as unknown. There are no window acs in the photos, but then, it was staged for sale.

Unless Sandra had large amounts of money hidden in the house, anyone who harmed her with this motive shot themselves in the foot because she's just gone...not known to be deceased at this point. And her bank accounts weren't touched. Isn't it going to take a long time for her to be legally declared dead (if she remains missing) and for any financial wealth she may have accrued/life insurance benefits etc to be accessed by others?

Yes, one would think it would take a while for her to be declared legally deceased. Then if she did have life insurance the beneficiaries would have to apply for it. That seems like a long time for someone to wait. Wouldn't it be eaiser to just get money from her while she is alive? I don't think she had a multi million dollar insurance policy. She was only 55 but seemed to be thinking about the long term. I know the next house I buy will have my children's name on it as well so if I have to go to a nursing home the state won't get that

From a quick search the house before it was remodeled was a fixer upper. It was an estate sale? Just thinking out loud, but possibly the old owner of the house got angry with Sandra because she bought the family house? Idk it's just a thought.

I'm pretty sure it was purchased in 2018 as a flip and then Sandra, or possibly her daughter, purchased it from the flipper. You can still see pictures of what it looked like before remodeling and it looked tumbledown...like abandoned. Really bad shape.

I haven't changed my thinking - in so many cases we follow - it's someone known to the person - family, friend, SO, etc. I don't think Sandra's case is very different - I think she knew who took her - and I don't think she went willingly IMO. I think they need to be looking for a body. OF course, rarely we do see the JC kidnapping - unknown person who saw her and had to have her.

In my opinion:

The state police have been involved so I'm sure all possible evidence has been obtained. I believe they have a good idea who is involved and are gathering and processing evidence. In the digital age, the movements of a suspect(s) on a certain night will be well known, better than the perp(s) is aware of. But law enforcement "knowing" what happened, and pressing charges for conviction are two different things.

In case where more than one perpetrator is involved, as I believe is the case here, LE can bring pressure to get someone to talk, and if needed- connect the final dots, including the location of Sandra's body.

While we will be angry that one of the responsible parties in a murder got a very lenient deal, that person will have acted in their own best interest and will not suffer the same fate as others involved.

Who will talk? One of them will...
