I could see if the sibilngs were older and one family member took them to do something fun for them to get the sibling's minds off the family troubles but to pack up and go to the beach like nothing ever happened? I could see going to a local park to get the young children exercise. But bragging about dinner with friends, days at friend's pool, high tea with friends?......

This sounds like two of the most vain friends I ever had. They used to send out a Christmas and year's wrap up letter bragging about the cars they bought, the trips they took, the promotions he received. This is what their blog feels like. Not like the parents of a missing child.

Now stay with me here. If they killed her or someone abducted her.....wouldn't the misery and the guilt be close to the same? Either way, it would be on the opposite side of the spectrum of what these TWO are showing? In what world is their behavior okay? In what world does that happen and the person doing it think that it is okay? Perhaps in the world of some sociopathic serial killer that goes on with life like nothing happened. Not in the mind of a grieving family member.

I went through a spell of great stress over a job change. A JOB CHANGE. Very stressful. Everyone told me that I should go on with favorite activities so that I didn't get overwhelmed. I kind of agreed and I drove 2.5 hours to North Carolina to my favorite fishing river to fly fish. I stayed about 30 minutes and then drove back home. I didn't feel like fishing, I didn't feel like having fun, I didn't fee like doing anything but getting home and I didn't feel much like that. I couldn't have gone to the beach, to an amusement park, to high tea with friends, to freaking ANYWHERE and that was over a job change that was stressful. These people are COLD calculating people that can go on like nothing happned...except for the occasional update to their website to tell how Mrs. Vain made beat her own personal time in jogging.

Another thing. Their blog is completely devoid of emotion about the loss of their child. If I were updating it as some therapy for myself, it would be filled with "I can hardly function", "I can't eat", "the thought of how scared she is hurts my SOUL".

I can so identify with what you are saying. This is why I have such a difficult time wrapping my mind around all this. If one of them did this, IMO it would be the work of a sociopath, and in this case it means there are TWO of them, and they actually met, got married, and procreated. If this were fiction, I would never buy into it, but I guess truth is sometimes stranger?

I heard a lawyer earlier on TV say that if the McCanns do turn out to have killed Madeleine, that they might be the most heinous human beings he's ever known of...not only to do that, even accidentally in anger or by drugs, but for this sham they have perpetrated on the world to cover it all up...I mean, involving the POPE!!!!! :doh: I'm inclined to agree.

My apologies if this has been discussed before. (this is one of the many benefits of owning WS, I can act like a total ditz and not get banned....hopefully )

I read that the aunt said the police think they hid her body for three weeks than moved her. Totally beyond ridiculous.

IF there really is Maddie's blood in the trunk of the rental car then it had to come from another item. A towel perhaps. A blanket. That is the only thing that makes sense.

After living through the Ramsey case and the Elizabeth Smart case, I am very cynical about the "true reports" from the media.

For your viewing information. Websleuths dear friend (he loves what you all do on WS and how much you care about victims) Marc Klaas will be appearing all over cable today to talk about this case.

He is going to be on Star Jones and Anderson Cooper. Marc is going to be on one other show but again, being the ditz I am, I forgot.

Off to forget a few more things in my life...

If Portugal police are offering Kate a two year plea deal, then they must know she's an accomplice and not the killer. They must suspect Gerry as being the killer. I can't see them offering the actual killer a two year plea deal for cnofessing. Sounds more like to me they think she's the accomplice, want a confession from her and details as to how Gerry killed Maddy.

All the pics of the couple together points to Gerry holding and controlling Kate to me. I can accept a plea deal if she gives all the details, and only all the details.

Surely Gerry will be named a suspect, if not arrested today.

I wonder how that would translate into American law...an involuntary manslaughter charge? Negligent Homicide?

I agree with you, KL. They are putting the squeeze on Kate to get to Gerry.

yours and others insights into Jon Benet Ramsey and Elizabeth Smarts case actually helps us tremendously here on this case, because the similarities in the parents behavior are noticable. Your questions are exactly what we need to be focusing on. Your experience and training you received keeping up with those cases brings the correct direction and focus to this one. Does that make any sense?

Being doctors, and their friends doctors, all kinds of scenerios are possible. Could she have been unconcious for those weeks, kept somewhere secret to try to revive her or see if she would possible come back and nothing they did medically could fix the damage done to her and she eventually died?

Somethign just dawned on me as I watched Kate's exit with her lawyer out of the police station then being physically directed to step backwards back on the platform to let photogs take pics of her with her lawyer:

Kate and Gerry have now disbursed. Went their own separate ways. That would also explain all this questioning separately. Two motives, two interests, two lawyers, hmmmm, where have we seen this scenerio before with rich well to do parents?

It appears to me the lawyers are now controlling all moves now. Kate's and we should soon be seeing Gerry's by his side.
