Gerry McCann reacted angrily yesterday to claims he received a string of mystery texts the day before his daughter vanished.
Police applied to Portugal's supreme court to seize his phone records after learning of the alleged messages.
They claim Gerry was sent 10 texts from an unknown number 24 hours before Madeleine disappeared.
And detectives say four messages arrived from the same mystery number the day after she went missing, according to court documents.
But Gerry and wife Kate have dismissed the claims as "utter rubbish".

It's the first Judicial dispatch not covered by the secrecy of justice which assumes that the investigation to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has suspicions of the crimes of murder, exposition, abandonment and hiding the cadaver.

It's the first Judicial dispatch not covered by the secrecy of justice which assumes that the investigation to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has suspicions of the crimes of murder, exposition, abandonment and hiding the cadaver.

I'm always a day late and a dollar short but that's great news! I got so excited when I saw the headline I rushed over here and posted it, of course not bothering to see if any else already had! I should've known it would be old news to you guys!

The first published court ruling on the Madeleine case confirms that the police inquiry covers homicide, abandonment, concealment of a corpse and abduction.

Clarence Mitchell, spokesman for the McCanns, said: “We are pleased to see that the investigation covers abduction. Kate and Gerry have had legal advice in both Portugal and Britain which say that everything they did was within the boundaries of reasonable behaviour.”
He said that Mr McCann had no knowledge of the texts referred to on May 3 and 4 and had received only a few calls on his mobile in the six days the family had been in Portugal prior to Madeleine disappearance.

Note that abandenment is just one of the inquiries....though that is the one some are choosing to run with...now thats a surprise!!or did they just miss abduction. :waitasec:
As for the so called "reconstruction"
At this point neither the McCanns nor their riends have any trust in the PJ for very obvious reasons. And I can't say I blame them.
The PJ have fed the Portuguese press information about the proposed "reconstruction from beginning to end...nothing changes...the secrecy laws are a joke.

Why???
If the PJ now have "evidence" that the McCanns killed Madeleine...or even "evidence" that Madeleine is dead...Why??? haven't they presented an updated dossier before the Judge again to officially request the McCanns to return?

Their arguido status has just been extended for afurther three months, despite the fact that "not a shred of evidence" has been put forward against them, says Mitchell. Portuguese police have until November at the latest to lay charges or lift the arguido status and close the investigation as unresolved, he says.

Neither Gerry or Kate McCann is allowed to discuss ongoing investigations into what happened to Madeleine, or their opinion of how efficient Portuguese police have or have not been in searching for her.

But, within the confines of a system of judicial secrecy which outsiders find absolutely baffling, those close to Madeleine are having to operate their own search with virtually no inkling about whether they are duplicating work done by others, as no information has been shared.

I think most of what we read in the Portogese and English press about this case is very questionable. It is clear that in Portugal the legal procedings and Law enforcment work behind closed doors. The end result is the press has to put a lot of interpertation in what they print. However, actions speak much louder then words . For the McCanns status as arguido to be extended now there must be good reason. The PJ have to be being very very careful in their actions. If they are doing this I believe they have good reason and that to me that speaks volumes.

Very interesting observation indeed Interestedwoman that CM doesn't even consider the possibility of Madeleine being found!


Of course a person with nothing to hide would hand over their records! Surely these people are now aware that the majority of people with a brain know that they are liars, that almost all sympathy has gone for them & they have no credibility whatsoever left!

Regardless of whether or not PJ get them & I so hope they do, this rotten bunch will be scorned forever by most people!
