Somewhere, I've forgotten where, there is an article saying that the other pilot talking to him did not happen. Not sure what to believe anymore.

If you find it, let me know. I've seen more than one with the version I referred to. jmo

It is a report by a fisherman. Text is as follows (I've ignored grammatical correctness in favour of translating the message as given in the pic):

At 08/03/2014 at approximately 0130HRS, I friend of mine by the name of "Pader Rohim" and I, while fishing at Kuala Besar, Badang, saw the lights of an aircraft passing our location. The lights in question were from an aircraft, I was puzzled because the aircraft was flying rather lower than the other aircraft that I have usually seen before this. The aircraft in question was fyling below the clouds from the direction leaving the country. On returning home after sunrise, I heard that a MAS aircraft was missing. End of my report"

If the airplane was flying low, I wonder if there was some sort of struggle in the cockpit in which both pilots were attacked and tied up.

the guys in an aviation forum state this supposed interaction is not true. Pilot could not have made contact 11 minutes after all communications/radar, etc went down

Is there a credible source of the timing of all communications/radar going down and the supposed communication?

Seriously, can people stop being paranoid racists! To infer that the co-pilot had something to do with it because he had a muslim name is absolutely ridiculous! Not to mention offensive. His brother is devastated and has already come out and spoken about what a wonderful person he is. If you bothered to educate yourselves, you'd know that over half of Malaysians are muslim and have muslim names. It does not mean they're terrorists!!!!

People are examining every angle. No one knows what gets into the heads of younger people these days. There's a lot of unrest in that part of the world. Chances are low, considering his status and lot in life, that he's involved in any way but asking the question isn't being racist imo.
People are leary of SOME Muslims. Some of them hate us and I know that for a FACT.

Leaving the country to go into which country? This gets crazier by the hour, I swear. I'm not sure what to think anymore. Fifty-four hours (thereabouts) and not a sign of this aircraft. All of the debris has been determined not to be from this plane.

I hope that this statement turns out to be valid. There isn't much else that has been, so far, IMO.

I'm pretty sure since he's the pilot of the plane who was asked to make contact, the people who need to know who he is, know who he is. Not wanting to identify himself to the media means nothing, imo. If they wanted to cover him up, they'd never have quoted him or would have made the story far more innocuous.

Well I don't know the specifics but imo a professional pilot wouldn't hesitate to speak out information he heard first hand.
Something doesn't equate and some country is being less than forthcoming imo. Beyond that observation, how could I possibly know the truth?
The pilot could have been directed to make those claims for the purpose of a better sounding timeline.

Trust no one until the formal investigation satisfies a formal committee of neutral participants.

Just woke up to the news the plane door confirmed officially found, anything else big? going to try to catch up

ETA
I misread the newsflash, sorry!

That has NOT been confirmed that I know of.

UPDATE [12.35pm]: Reports of an object spotted by the Vietnamese, believed to be a door of the aircraft, on Sunday were not officially verified by Vietnam officials, the Department of Civil Aviation said. No aircraft debris has been seen after 60 hours.

Thank you! It was a CNN newsflash on my phone "Head of Malaysian Civil aviation department reports a plane door has been found"

ETA, I misread that groggy in the morning, it says "discounts"

Wow, so they're no closer to finding anything from the plane, this is crazy!

Thanks, MsF. I hope that everyone sees this and realizes that there has been NO wreckage found that has been linked to this aircraft.

I took today to run errands, etc... and am astounded that there is nothing new. Also, the reports of having two family members of each passenger come to KL, didn't they say that they were doing that at least a day ago? I remember them saying that the family members needed their passports.

Beginning to think we've all fallen into a Twilight Zone episode, seriously. :scared:

I agree! There are a lot of ships looking, plus that area is highly populated with fishing vessels. Out of all of those vessels, only one fisherman made a report? Really?

O/T I have always loved your avatar picture, makes me giggle every time I see it :)

Hehe thanks :) I stole him from those LOL cats pics and the statement, thought it was too cute

We're called not to fight on WS. I have personal reasons for believing and thinking the way I do. Name calling isn't allowed here among members.
My remarks are based on my own experiences. I'm tired of people bullying others when they don't like what is said during a conversation.
I don't think discussing someone (versus accusing) is being racist. :twocents:

Don't some of these ships go out for days or weeks at a time?
I know it was said before that they would have to report what they saw when they came back in.
They don't generally have a way of communicating from out there.

If all they saw was a low flying aircraft, but not the crash... they may wait till they get back to report it. :twocents:
(Obviously if they saw the crash I would hope they would rush in to report it immediately!)
