Day 32 ... 133 missions so far, and that doesn't include the ships that are constantly out there.

So the Chinese may have heard themselves and not the black box?

Wait...what...WTH? Where is Commodore Leavy? This is bull! I feel cheated.

:floorlaugh:

Sorry .. you just got Angus Houston and our defence minister this time!

The Commodore must be busy directing the ships - maybe he is even onboard Ocean Shield.

I really feel they are all doing a top notch job. So professional.

BTW Commodore is such a fantastic rank/title.

I am ready to hear more about the criminal aspect of the investigation. I know, its' wishful thinking, yet that is what consumes me. Who?why?

The “hadalpelagic zone” or “hadal zone” is the deepest layer in the ocean, extending from 6,000 meters (20,000 feet) deep to nearly 11,000 meters (36,000 feet) in the Mariana Trench in the Pacific with strong hydrostatic pressure of about 1100 atmospheres and temperatures between 1 ° C and 2 ° C above the melting point. This layer is in total darkness and extends in 75% of the ocean.

The electric current generated by a battery is produced when a connection is made between its positive and negative terminals. When the terminals are connected, a chemical reaction is initiated that generates electrons to supply the current of the battery. Lowering the temperature causes chemical reactions to proceed more slowly, so if a battery is used at a low temperature then less current is produced than at a higher temperature. As the batteries run down they quickly reach the point where they cannot deliver enough current to keep up with the demand. If the battery is warmed up again it will operate normally

Yes ... but it was a bit funny when the defence minister just turned around and walked off to end the presser ... and Angus Houston looked at him, looked at the reporters, then followed the defence minister. He was probably thinking 'what? no last question .. or last, last question .. or last, last, last question?!'

Battery life for transmissions expires after 30 days but "usually lasts longer". #MH370 #Live #UPDATE pic.twitter.com/mBGFi0afyj

Some of the false leads were transmissions from ships involved in SAR, need silence with not too many ships in the vicinity

Don't fret if the black box etc are deeper than 4,500 metres i.e. beyond Bluefin's capability.
As per interview on ABC24 this morning - the Chinese have one that can go much deeper >11,000 metres.

Quite an awkward moment:floorlaugh:
Angus Houston is very patient with reporters.

How long will they and physically can they keep up this intensity?

I caught most of it. My analysis: It was a good news conference, but it was not good news.

Oh my goodness...5% think Aliens? :(
Honestly, a black box in hand with those same voices won't convince some people.
Yes, this is beyond precedent...but that is why it is so difficult.
In no way do I believe that any of these countries do not want definitive answers.
