Man seen carrying diaper clad baby

  • #321
Let me see if I have this straight?

The couple sees a man w/ baby at around midnight very close to the Irwin home. Then a dumpster fire is reported around 2:30am which is also in the vicinity. Then, approximately a 1 hour walk from the Irwin home, the motorcycle dude see a man with a baby at about 0400. Sound right?

This is a personal story that might bring a different light to this.

Several years ago, we were renting a beach house in Florida on vacation. My husband and I would sit out on the steps at night and watch the sunset. One morning I woke up before my husband and decided to sit outside to watch the sunrise instead. The steps went down to the beach and the ocean was right there. I'm not good at measuring, so won't say how close it was, but it was definitely what I considered close. The waves were crashing and the sun was just coming up and the light was gorgeous. As I sat there drinking my coffee, I noticed a person walking fairly far down the beach toward me. As they got closer to me, I noticed that the person had something in their arms. As the person got even closer, I noticed that it was a man and he had something in his arms. Closer yet, I realized that he was carrying a baby. The positioning was very odd and the man looked strange and walking with a purpose instead of just strolling as one would on a lovely morning along the beach. I kept thinking how odd it was that this man had this baby in his arms and it was barely light out. The hair on the back of my neck stood up and I suddenly knew in my heart that something wasn't right. I ran in and woke up my husband to come out and look so that I could have a second opinion before calling 911. My thought was not that he kidnapped a baby, but that the baby was his own and he might be going to drown it or something like that. My husband ran out; by this time the man had already passed us. My husband looked down the beach and then looked back at me and began to laugh. At the same time I recognized that the man was coming back our way and he now had the "baby" out of his arms and it was on a leash. He was carrying his dog! It had clothes on and everything! From my distance, even though it was close, I was sure that this was a baby.

The poor man walked back past us, still with purpose, and never even realized that some blind lady almost had called LE on him. The light tan doggie pranced ahead of him along the water.

Two months after I returned from my vacation, I got Lasik! True story! :)

Great story.

It reminded me of a day a long time ago when I was at the beach with my mother. It was a sunny day and the beach was busy. Near where we sat there was a man sitting alone who looked a little bit down and out. His hair was matted and his clothes were torn and shabby. My Mom commented to me how it was sad that if you looked around nobody was sitting near him, except us. It was obvious people were avoiding him.

Anyway we were sitting there enjoying the sounds of the sea, eating sandwiches. The current was always strong there and the waves were rough. In the middle of this lovely afternoon, when things were very quiet, that 'down and out' man suddenly bolted straight up and ran at super fast speed towards the shore. Everyone was staring at him in disbelief, some people were shaking their heads frowning, thinking perhaps he was just mentally ill and acting crazy. Until suddenly when he was about 15 feet into the water (fully clothed) we saw him put his arm into the water and pull out a little boy. The boy had been drowning and nobody except that man noticed it. The boy was about 3 years old. He was gasping for breath. At this point, when people realised what was going on, lots of people rushed to the shore.

The man who rescued him was doubled over shaking as the adrenalin finally died down and he realised that he had saved that child's life. Another man gave the child mouth to mouth and the child finally was okay. Just about. (Obviously paramedics were called).

Anyway sorry for being so off-topic but I had forgotten all about that day until I read your story.

I'm getting dizzy from thread to thread + don't know if this was posted here also. I saw it in the search warrant thread. Hope it's ok to post here as well.
Graves with the fbi said this/re: witness sightings:
The woman said police have interviewed her four times and police say they are still looking into the possible sightings.

"That is something that we've followed up on," said Kansas City Police Department Sgt. Stacey Graves. "We've haven't discounted it and we have no reason to believe that they didn't see what they said that they saw."

Graves said investigators plan on continuing to follow up on tips and leads today.

I wouldn't be surprised to see activity between the house and the second witness sighting location

The latest bit about the cadaver dog has me wondering if the male carried a living or a dead baby. If Lisa was dead she would be past needing clothes, and maybe carried in whatever she died wearing? (But what a nerve appearing with a dead body in public...so aybe not.)

Exactly my thoughts...and who was the man? They reported two more people seeing that man this morning. Spin or truth? I mean, today is the first I've heard of another couple seeing the man and the baby.

Why would somebody be walking around the neighborhood carrying the baby at midnight and then still be there walking around with the baby 4 hours later?

I know, that is bizarre behavior to keep walking around with a baby (and now it seems maybe that baby wasn't even alive). Someone in a drug stupor could keep walking around like that in a daze.

Well it doesn't make sense. These two supposed sightings are hours apart. The motorcycle man came forward a week later, after the first woman (who might or might have not seen the man with a baby) already was on TV talking about what her husband (or herself, unclear) saw.

I still have a hard time understanding the Van Damm tragedy. Another case of adult time and no idea somebody grabbed their child. And those parents were far worse than these parents. JMO

Yeah, and I wondered what he looked like carrying that child out of her home and over to his.

I wonder if Lisa's brother--the one who accompanied her to get the wine--has alibis for the rest of the night Lisa disappeared?

A homeless mentally ill man. But now with the dog hitting next to DB's bed I find it hard to believe that this perp came into the house did something to Lisa right next to DB laying there in bed. She woke right up when her husband came home.

Maybe somebody else stopped by to have a drink or two with Mom. Somebody that did something to the baby after Mom passed out....Maybe Mom really doesn't know where the child is, but I bet she has a good idea WHO took the child. But why wouldn't she tell that? She's already made herself look bad to the public. What more would something like this add?
