I'm not at all surprised by this. I always figured that one of the parents would throw the other under the bus. JMO
welp, they threw Ethan under the bus long ago so who else is left if not one another?

It will be interesting to see how she blames him and for what she blames him.

However either one of them could have taken many different actions that may have prevented this.

Finished reading the independent report...So many failures on so many levels from start to finish. I can't even imagine how the victim families feel about the information that was included in that document. There were so many opportunities to save lives...if not ALL of them, at least some of them.

Oxford — Parents of children murdered in the 2021 Oxford High School attack demanded that school staff who declined to be interviewed for the independent investigation be compelled to talk and the report updated with their interviews.

Buck Myre and Steve St. Juliana, whose children were among four killed in the Nov. 30, 2021, shooting, told Oxford superintendent Vickie Markavitch during a listening session Thursday that only 35% of school staff cooperated with interviews with Guidepost Solutions.

"How can you learn if we don’t get to the bottom of what happened on the 30th?" said Myre, whose son Tate was killed. "And we haven’t (learned) because only 35% spoke. How can you say with confidence we can stop the next Nov. 30? How do you know if not everyone spoke up?"...

OXFORD, Mich. – Parents of students who were shot and killed in the Oxford High School shooting are still frustrated with the lack of information they feel they’re getting from the school district, even after an independent report was published.

Parents of three of the four students murdered on Nov. 30, 2021, were present Thursday at a board of education meeting, where they spoke their minds to the superintendent. The parents and other school and community members are concerned after a third-party investigation found the school and its administrators didn’t do enough to prevent the shooting.

So far, the district has not said much about the findings of the independent investigation. When the report was released at the end of October, officials said the district was reviewing it and would share more information at a later date...

The parents of the Oxford school shooter are asking for separate criminal trials based on new evidence their attorneys received from Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald's office, according to court filings.

Attorneys for James and Jennifer Crumbley filed separate motions Monday morning in Oakland County Circuit Court. Both motions request that James and Jennifer Crumbley's trials be severed based on discovery received by the attorneys Nov. 2-3.

"Upon review of the recently-provided discovery, it is apparent that a conflict exists," wrote Mariell Lehman, attorney for James Crumbley...

OXFORD, Mich. – The mother and father of the Oxford High School shooter are scheduled to stand trial together in January as co-defendants on involuntary manslaughter charges. However, the attorneys for both parents requested Monday that they have separate trials.

Attorneys for Jennifer and James Crumbley on Monday, Nov. 13 filed a motion to sever and a motion to separate the trial that the parents face together over their alleged role in the Nov. 30, 2021, school shooting. The parents have each been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter for the four students murdered by their son in the massacre.

The parents are scheduled to stand trial together beginning Jan. 23, 2024, following several failed attempts to get the charges against them dropped. If their latest motions are granted, however, it is possible the parents could be tried separately, which could also impact the trial’s current start date...

Regardless of the reason this current motion is being filed, it seems that each of the parents would be best served by having their own attorney. With the client's permission, the attorneys can share information, as needed.

Doh. As if nobody saw this coming....

The only question will be -- how big's the bus they're going to throw each other under?

What an absolute travesty of a family.

The Crumbleys have always had separate attorneys. James is represented by Mariell Lehman. Jennifer is represented by Shannon Smith. Originally, both attorneys were from the same firm, but they have since established their own private practice.

I meant to type that the Crumbley parents should each have separate trials. The attorneys can consult as needed, with client's permission, of course.

I think the parents each have their own responsibility leading up to the shooting. James bought Ethan the gun and didn't make certain that it was properly stored. Jennifer took Ethan to the shooting range so he could learn to use his "Christmas present". His mother also told him that he needed to learn to "not get caught" while searching for ammunition on his phone during class. Both parents threw their son under the bus when they drained bank accounts, high-tailed it out of town and hid in a warehouse in Detroit, and hired high profile attorneys while their son had to fend for himself. It remains to be seen if either parent will be convicted, but I'm glad that they are locked up for the time being.

I hope the parents are severely punished. Left up to me, it would be life. I am so against this kind of parenting. And, yes, I know I'm one of many such same opinion.

OXFORD, Mich. – A judge has granted the request from the parents of the Oxford High School shooter to have separate trials for their involuntary manslaughter charges.

Attorneys for James and Jennifer Crumbley filed motions on Monday, Nov. 13, requesting they stand trial separately for the four counts of involuntary manslaughter they face in connection with the shooting.

They were initially set to be tried together as co-defendants, starting Jan. 23, 2024. The trial date could be affected now that the request for trial separation has been granted...

Any ideas what this new discovery received in November could be? New discovery to that is creating the need for two separate trials?

I think it may have to do with the recent revelations that Jennifer was blaming James.

Totally predictable and I'm surprised it's taken this long.

Oh boy.

Oxford school shooter Ethan Crumbley told a forensic psychiatrist that he never asked his parents for therapy and admitted that he lied when he texted a friend about asking for such help, according to new court documents filed Monday.

An Oakland County judge has granted separate criminal trials for the parents of the Oxford High School shooter, after each requested the change based on new evidence their attorneys received from Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald's office.

Late Monday, Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Cheryl Matthews issued two separate orders granting separate motions from James and Jennifer Crumbley seeking to separate the cases. Both motions requested that James and Jennifer Crumbley's trials on four counts each of involuntary manslaughter be severed based on discovery received by the attorneys Nov. 2-3.

"Upon review of the recently-provided discovery, it is apparent that a conflict exists," wrote Mariell Lehman, attorney for James Crumbley...
