It could be that the "FBI story" isn't a lie. It could be true. The FBI perhaps isn't investigating the murder of Ally, but maybe the FBI is investigating MSP misconduct. MSP Lt Shaw perhaps doesn't know if the FBI is investigating his agency MSP (above his pay grade!), or if he did, he wouldn't admit it to a news reporter.
Our VI news reporter expressed her own suspicions of possible MSP misconduct.

This just keeps being uselessly repeated, IMO. Seems to me without any clarification, there is no point in even attempting to discuss whether FBI is investigating MSP for this case. They sure aren't likely to tell us at this point. Without anything to back this up, we have seen no signs that MSP has botched this case yet. That is the only fact(s) we can relate to such a gossipy theory thrown out by a possible suspect and anyone gullible enough to exclusively believe his words/theories/statements .

In my opinion, he was not a reliable teller of truths/facts, and should be taken with less than that grain of salt we all know so well.

I basically asked her to get back with me with a date and time for us to sit down and really go over everything I know from the very beginning regarding Ally’s parents and that this was going to take some time.

So then last Thursday, after she still hadn’t contacted me back yet, I texted this investigator a batch of screenshot messages regarding Franz...

“Although no one has been arrested, the Michigan State Police (MSP) continue to aggressively work this case. There has been one change, however. In the beginning, F/Lt. Michael Shaw said, ‘Everyone is a suspect.’ He repeated that on a Crime Watch Daily episode about Ally’s murder, which aired in March of this year. During his interview with the host, Chris Hanson, Shaw said everyone was still a suspect, ‘including mom and dad.’

That, however, has changed. ‘We do not consider the Bruegers as suspects at this time,’ said Shaw earlier this month.

That is because Franz voluntarily submitted to a polygraph test, which was completed in Flint on Friday, April 13. He passed the polygraph conclusively, eliminating him as a suspect.

‘We continue to receive tips and follow up on all of them,’ Shaw said. ‘This is still an active investigation and detectives from the Special Investigation Section are still working this case.’

During that same Crime Watch Daily episode, a former boyfriend of Ally’s, Weston Sutherland, pointed the finger at her parents.

‘You think the parents could have done this,’ asked Hanson during the interview.

‘I think that her father could have, yes,’ Sutherland said.

Franz, who says he doesn’t rattle easily, scoffed at what Hanson called the ‘stunning accusation.’

Tricia Griffith is the owner and administrator of that site, which is a members-only forum dedicated to studying, discussing and possibly assisting in solving open crimes throughout the country.

Ally’s murder has become a popular topic of discussion on the site. Well-meaning members have had daily discussions regarding this crime, especially since one member claims to have inside knowledge of the case.

Although he, too, uses a code name, that member has identified himself as Ally’s boyfriend and claims to have first-hand knowledge about her parents and the case. He also claims to be in touch with investigators and says the FBI is now involved.

Shaw said, ‘Sutherland, still a suspect, has no inside information on this investigation and the FBI is not involved.’

Do you have a link supporting your theory the MSP is under investigation by the FBI? If it's speculation please say so because afaik we have zero reason to think the FBI is investigating MSP. We could just as easily say "Maybe the DoD is investigating Wes for crimes committed while he was in the military." So a source would be helpful. One person's suspicion of misconduct does not support your speculation.

I believe this Wes guy may have had something to do with her death. This sounds like something a jilted or former jilted lover would do. Someone who aspires to achieve their dreams and their life gets cut short. Such a loss.

I agree. Of course she might have other ex-boyfriends we don't know about, but none of them have been named as suspects. The fact it what in a rural area, the weapon used, that there was no sexual assault, and she faced and ran from her killer makes me think this is someone she knew. Of course not every murder is the same, but most of the "random stranger" murders I've followed have a completely different MO. (And don't coincide with relationship beginnings or endings.)

Ally was so dedicated to her future and working so hard to get where she wanted to be - not that anyone deserves to be murdered but it's especially sad. I think some of us are drawn to this case because we feel a connection to her, maybe she reminds us of ourselves or someone we know.

I think they have several different roles, and the way Lt. Shaw says this it's clear he means Ally's case.

Law enforcement has publicly said wes has NO inside information about the case. So I don’t see why his posts should be used as a legit source. JMO

This may be a silly question, but ...: Is he being serious here or is this some sort of sarcasm?

Why would someone who “spent truly endless hours over many many months relentlessly looking for Ally’s killer,” and “would read through every comment on every website looking for any clues” have to ask “if anything has ever been mentioned regarding Ally having her cellphone with her on that day or not” two years later?

Besides, Ally’s phone is something that has been discussed numerous times and extensively on all of her threads.

I am not trying to be mean or snarky; I just find his question and statement in the second post downright bizarre (if he is serious) and thus was wondering if I was misunderstanding them.

Any input would be much appreciated.
