MI - Bianca Jones, 2, Detroit, 2 Dec 2011 - #4 - *D. Lane guilty*

  • #581
If I am able to read the map properly, it looks like he probably dumped her body in the river. Moo. Poor baby Bianca.

That's what I've thought for a long time, too. Plus, DL places himself at the riverfront campus of WCCC early that morning. How convenient  Hopefully, he was seen on surveillance video or by someone else on the campus. I would also think that LE knows whether or not DL had actually been enrolled at WCCC because he claimed to be seeing someone regarding financial aid. Then, again quite conveniently, Lane claimed to have forgotten his briefcase with paperwork. Methinks the tale is horse hash, and that he was at the riverfront location to dispose of his child's body. :moo:

(DETROIT) - The live-in girlfriend of D’Andre Lane took the stand, saying she heard Lane beat his daughter the night before she went missing in December.

The woman, whose identity was ordered to be concealed by a judge, said Lane used a homemade paddle that consisted of a wooden stick, a sponge and duct tape to discipline 2-year-old Bianca Jones when she had accidents while toilet training.

So there was a court order concealing her name? but she is named in this article?

I wasn't sure if it was this scenario or if he put her in the trash. I think this is most likely, and probably why they decided to proceed with the charges without a body, since it is unlikely she will be recovered. Moo. Many prayers for the family that loved Bianca.

I've gone back and forth between whether he put her in the trash or the river. The search was a 10 square mile grid, iirc. I'd think they seperated the trash along his known route immediately. It's possible that was searched without it being made public.

When DL mentions forgetting his brief case, I wonder if he took any kind of case. Suitcase, plastic tote/bin, that he used to dispose her. If he put her in the river, he had to have something to anchor her with. We know the car seat was found in the car, so he didn't use that.

I hope to God, if someone residing in that house was aware something that could be used as a container to conceal Bianca, was missing they'd come forward with it to the authorities.

It bugs me that the gf was upstairs. Upstairs where? The house is so small it doesn't even look like there was an upstairs. And who in their right mind expects a just turned 2 yr old to be dry through the night, even if they are daytime trained? especially in a strange place?

Who was the adult that allegedly asked DL to stop because he was beating her so hard? Was that the roommate? IIRC, there was a roommate - another adult in addition to the girlfriend. Hopefully that person will be testifying at the next preliminary hearing. I"ll stop there before I get myself in trouble as there were not one, but two other adults in that house while Bianca was (allegedly) murdered.

I've had family in town since Thursday so I have been preoccupied.

I can't belive his girlfriend HEARD the beating and still did NOTHING!

:maddening:

Now that we know RB did not see Bianca that morning, I am 100% convinced poor Bianca is in the river....

The house on Mitchell is similar to the house that I grew up in: A three-bedroom bungalow with living room, kitchen/dining, one bathroom on main floor, two bedrooms, upstairs "dormer" bedroom with angular, sloping ceiling, full basement. Front and side-door entry. Some homes had a detached garage but most had only a driveway: Mitchell house has garage, mine did not. Homes are probably 800-900 square feet, excluding basement.

My grandmothers home was in an area very near to DL's and I remember visiting there and it being exactally as BDE describes. Back then there was alleyway that used to run through the backs of the home for the milk man/garbage man etc.

The morning Bianca Jones disappeared, her father's girlfriend said she woke up to the sounds of the 2-year-old girl's screams and a wooden stick striking bare flesh.

Anjali Lyons, 22, testified in Detroit's 36th District Court Friday during the preliminary examination of her live-in boyfriend, D'Andre Lane, that between Bianca's shrieks, she heard Lane firing questions at his daughter: "Where are you supposed to pee-pee? In the bed?"

From The Detroit News: http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20120428/METRO/204280342#ixzz1tdrCqsL6

I know it is old news but it still burns my arse every time I read this. I am frustrated beyond words. WTH is wrong with people around this man that everyone thought disciplining a 2 year old for a potty accident with a wooden spoon/stick type thing is A-okay??

Bianca's 8-year-old sister testified last week that Lane hit her with the stick one time when she had wet the bed, and stuffed her soiled underwear under her tongue as punishment.

From The Detroit News: http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20120428/METRO/204280342#ixzz1tdruy27c

The girlfriend did not want to show her face and was not anxious to cooperate with prosecutors but her testimony painted a chilling picture. She said she heard Bianca stop crying and never heard her again.

I want to know how SUPERDAD explains this was in any way acceptable.

I should leave this thread now as I am only getting hotter.

In the most respectful/victim friendly way possible I can only ask of Banika - What about this man struck you as someone who is father material? Why do you still so steadfastly refuse to acknowledge the possibility that this man has fatally harmed Bianca?

I understand denial is a strong thing to break through, but FGS, why are you so supportive of this man??

It baffles me too! How she can still say she believes he had absoultely nothing to do with Bianca's disappearance??? :waitasec:

I wish I could have seen the entire Dr. Phil segment, not so much to hear what he had to say, but to observes Binakas behavior along with the sisters.
Unfortunatley I can not find the full show anywhere and there is no way I'm paying in upwards of $25 to view it!

From the short segments and interviews I have observed of family members it seems no one but Bianka believes him! Even her own family seem to roll their eyes at her denial.

Its very strange!!!!

I'm not Banika of course, but think about this. If she stops 'supporting' D'Andre, she has to admit to herself she willingly handed her daughter over to a man who beat her child to death. That alone is a tough pill to swallow, imo, as with it comes the reality if she had only made the choice to not allow Bianca to spend the night - there was no court order -she would be safe and alive today. And her mind would have to go to a place considering her childs last moments, with a man who has been a life long family friend. How this life long family friend lied - to all of them. Carried on a charade to not only the entire community, but the entire country as we all heard his story about how his daughter was kidnapped by car jackers.

It's a lot to absorb when LE has stated publicly they think it's possible the childs body will not be recovered.

I can't knock her so to speak for having a hard time swallowing that pill. It would be an incredibly difficult position for anyone to come to terms with, imo. If years from now, she felt the same, I might feel differently. But right now, wow, almost 5 mo's after her daughter disappeared, I'm still ok with giving her time to let this all sink in.

I just realized it will be 5 months tomorrow Bianca has been missing.

 I just cannot stop crying for this precious child after reading about the new testimony. I cried the other day for his 8 year-old; and now, I cry again for Bianca. Why??? In what world should a child grow up and expect to be perfect by the time they are 2? Children are a precious gift and should be treated as such.

D'Andre Lane sat wiping away tears listening to his own voice on a 911 call from the day his two year old daughter disappeared.

Lane can be heard sobbing in the background and saying "I can't do this" as a relative tries to urge him to answer questions from the operator.

BBM. Telling, very very telling. :furious:

Wow 5 Months Already!

I can understand what your saying here in regards to Biankas behavior/denial. I've stated the same thing myself over the past months I can not even image the feelings/thoughts she must be dealing with.

Not trying to Knock Banika in any way. I feel so very sorry for her, but the sad reality is.... Someday the truth will have to set in....whatever that truth may be ...and those emotions will have to be delt with :( I just hope she can have some Justice to ease the pain :jail: :gavel:

For me....I have a much shorter temper and patients, think I would have hit my anger by now

I follow you cubby, it just frustrates me that the inability to deal with the reality of this situation prevents her from being Bianca's fierce advocate in the pursuit of justice for her child.

It's not my wish to be mean or hurtful towards a woman who has already gone through so much.

Just venting my frustrations I guess.

  • #599
I honestly wish that someone would wake Banika would begin to begin him to tell her. She needs to get firm with him and not continue to stick up for him. I doubt that she could make a difference, but you never know.

I cried for a few minutes after I first read the 8 yr olds testimony. God, how difficult that must have been for someone only 8 to have to take the stand to prove the truthfulness or lack of, in her daddy's statements/story. I so hear you on how heartbreaking this is for her.....and of course for Bianca....

Maybe it's just how I deal with these cases and tragedies that we read so often, but right now I'm in that I'm so proud of her mode. That mode a parent has to be in when their child is facing difficult circumstances. That mode that, we just can't freak out as much as we might want to. And unlike her dads wailing and hyperventilating in the back ground of those 911 calls - where he clearly stated, "I can't do this", an 8 yr old is doing it, and doing it more adult like than most of the adults in this case.

I pray for her strength and I hope she knows how proud of her so many of us are. This is more than any 8 year old should be faced with, and all because a selfish adult can't be honest and is more interested in saving his arse than giving his children any dignity or respect. 'Nuff said or I might find myself on a vacation from WS courtesy of the mods.
