MI - Bianca Jones, 2, Detroit, 2 Dec 2011 - #4 - *D. Lane guilty*

Firstly I would like to thank the posters here for the warm welcome. I think I'm going to like it here :blushing:

I think BDE has a point about the lack of a body and reasonable doubt. I'm hoping this jury can see past that though, to the history of this man and how he disciplined children :furious: After all, there have been other convictions without a body, although prosecutors face a very uphill battle. One case in point is the conviction of Katherine Rutan in the murder of her six year old son Logan Tucker. The jury only deliberated two hours on that one.

I also think the biological mother's support might sway the jury. It's hard for some to believe that a mother would choose a man over their own child.

BBM. I have to wonder if the jury knows how many mothers have bore DL's children. It really does not seem any of them give much thought to who is seeding where and with whom for lack of a better term.

How much credibility will this jury give the women who chose to bare the child of a man who had children with many other women?

Didn't D'Andre drop one of the children off at school in Highland Park? That would involve a different PD and city services (probably in worse straits than Detroit). DL was probably familiar with the area and knew where there were dumpsters near the school or local businesses. I don't recall searches in Highland Park, but that's another possibility.

A local would be better answering. I really don't recall where the nephew went to school. I will try and find that screen shot of the map of DL's route which was presented in the preliminary hearing.

Time line sequence. Can anyone make this out? Anyone who did the maps early on? Or if the image exists in one of the msm video's maybe someone can capture a screen shot?

Bump. Ah ha! I found it. T' the teenage nephew is listed as #2 on the above map. Map indicates he was dropped off at home, not school.

I'm not familiar enough with the area to determine if the address for #2 is within Detroit city limits or not. Locals?

I am wondering if the poor sweet baby might have been still clinging to life when she was taken to the car. Quite often, victims of child abuse are in an unstable condition due to fractured skulls, etc, and would recover if they receive medical care. So he may have carried a semi-conscious, injured child to her car seat, and she may have died that morning due to his callous neglect. :furious:

I am trying to keep up with Jessica Ridgeway's case .... It is going faster than guns!

But I am checking in for jury results on Biance...

I see they adjourned without a verdict...

I will be checking in again...

thanks for holding down the fort, Sleuthers, as always!

That wouldn't explain the cadaver dog hit in the closet. She had to have died prior to being carried out of the home for the cadaver dog to have hit inside the home.

I agree the lack of information on this case is frustrating! Especially for me after having just followed the Drew Peterson trial. What a difference. I really thought this case would have received more media attention considering how unrealistic DL's story is.

So did I! It did at first ... but it sure died off quickly. Not much of anything making in the news :(

Jury in D'Andre Lane murder trial asks to review testimony, is denied

4:06 PM, October 11, 2012

"At about 3 p.m. today, jurors asked for transcripts from Lane’s teenage nephew, Treveon Lane. The judge denied that request.

According to prosecutors, the teen originally said he didn’t see anything when questioned by police, then changed his story months later, claiming he saw Bianca alive the morning she went missing."

I wonder why the judge would deny this request? :waitasec: Hmmm....

With no body, this jury will have to do a lot of deliberating. I'm sitting on this thread until there is a verdict.

My heart goes out to the witnesses who told the truth and weren't afraid to do so. It's obvious that D'Andre holds considerable power over so many lives. If there isn't a guilty verdict, I pray it is a hung jury. I would fear for those who told the truth and their futures.

I'm "local", Cubby, but the angle of the map doesn't help much. I seem to recall - unless I'm mixing this up with another case - that D'Andre had baby Bianca, his teenage nephew, and one of the young girls (either his daughter or the roomie's daughter) whom he dropped off at school. The school wasn't in Detroit but in the enclave of Highland Park. Detroit has two enclaves - separate cities within the Detroit city limits - Hamtramck and Highland Park. They have their own police/fire departments, city services, schools, etc.

I'll try to find a media article that relates all of D'Andre's "stops" that morning, but it will probably take a while. In the meantime, I will be at home all day and will be keeping up with the latest news on jury deliberations.

Go TIGERS! :yourock:

I wonder why too.

Just a guess and :moo: The judge knows that the teenage witness, D'Andre's nephew, hasn't been truthful in his testimonies at preliminary hearing and during the trial.

Nice to see you here, Guinevere. There has been so much local news in the past couple of weeks - Kwame Kilpatrick trial, Joe Gentz and Bob Bashara, Patrick Mikes' case (Troy), meningitis outbreak, baseball playoffs, etc. that local media is having to pick and choose what they will cover. When the verdict comes down in the D'Andre Lane case, I'm sure that all local media will cover the breaking news. :moo:

:please: Justice for Bianca :please:

Me too! I can only hope and pray :please:

I've been following this case since day one. The past few weeks have been very busy for me and I have not had much of a chance to keep up on what exactly this jury has heard. I'll have to go bring myself up to date!

I did see it reported that D'Andre had originally wanted this pregnancy terminated and even offered money to do so :( It made my heart ache:( Such a different character than he portrayed in his multiple TV appearances in his efforts to sell his story ...:liar:

Did Nancy mention this case at all since the trial has started???? I would think she would give it some coverage after DL and his attorney caused such a stir with their appearance last time....

Banika is still keeping up hope she is alive? Really?

Praying for JUSTICE to be served here but until we know the TRUTH and Bianca is found I will never feel that JUSTICE was brought in this case :(

We know that, however I'd have to then ask if the prosecution was succesfully able to impeach the nephews testimony. There was enough evidence to prove he was lying. How much was let in?

Not knowing what evidence the jury has to consider really makes this hard. I feel like the MSM was gave us much more of the full picture for the prelim than the trial.

Very frustrating to have so little info on what the jury heard. :banghead:

At least I know one thing for sure, the judgement DL will receive in the next life is far more than any judgement that can be given in this life. He has nothing, not one single thing to look forward to in the next life. It's hot where he's going, may not be soon, but he'll get there. :furious:

I sure hope there is a verdict today. Maybe BetteDavisEyes is right about why the judge denied the juries request to review the nephew's testimony, but I don't agree with his decision. To me the nephew's changing testimony is an important piece of the puzzle. It screamed "guilty" to me.

We've missed you, glad to see you here Guinevere. There is very little msm on the trial, unfortunately. Very difficult to determine exactly what the jury heard. Everyone really clammed up. It's terrible and makes one wonder what kind of influence DL has over them. Especially devistating was the 7 yr old not remembering.

Media on this trial was scarce. NG did not cover any of it that I am aware of.

Banika, well, what can I say. You'd think she was supporting DL running for president, she is laying on the support for him that thick. It's sickening to read.

That said, :please:the jury gets it right, or I fully expect DL to beat another of his children to death. I hope it doesn't take two to get DL where he belongs.
