MI - Bianca Jones, 2, Detroit, 2 Dec 2011 - #4 - *D. Lane guilty*

Oh gosh, and you know what just occured to me? The victim statements at the sentencing hearing. Who is going to be there for Bianca? Hopefully her grandma and uncle. I don't see a guilty verdict convincing Banika if the evidence did not. :sigh:

"This has been a very long and very emotional case for everyone involved," Judge Vonda Evans told the court.

"He was as surprised as we were by the verdict, based upon what we believe is a lack of evidence," Johnson said. "We're obviously disappointed. The jury put forth a verdict, and we have to respect that. Mr. Lane still maintains his innocence in this."

DL wasn't surprised because a lack of evidence. He was surprised because he thinks he is unique and invinsible. It's a common trait with criminal behavior. The evidence spoke very loud and clear. DL's story was a fabricated lie, and a bad one at that, to cover his arse. There isn't anyone on the planet, except for perhaps Banika and a few of DL's family members, who believe otherwise.

The best thing Terry Johnson can do now is to convince his client to make a deal for himself at sentencing by fessing up where he disposed of Bianca remains!

Thank you God for justice on earth for Bianca and protection for her siblings.

While I'm pleased with the outcome of this case and commend the jury for their wisdom in rendering a guilty verdict, I don't quite feel like "dancing in the streets". Having been victimized this past summer and knowing that two parties were arrested and charged (credit card theft) in the case, I can't help feeling a sense of sadness for those who are not law-abiding citizens. :moo:

I understand what you're saying, but I can't help but be happy when justice is served for the most innocent among us. This to me is vastly different than someone who steals material things. This beast stole a precious life, and for the most ridiculous reason - because she wet her pants. I feel absolutely no pity for him whatsoever.

Bianca’s mother, Banika Jones, was not seen at the sentencing. At her home on Custer in Detroit, a Crimestoppers poster featuring a picture of Bianca and offering $22,500 for information her disappearance still hangs in the front window. No one answered the door this afternoon. http://www.freep.com/article/2012101...yssey=nav|head

BBM. I wish they would correct this. The sentencing was not today. The verdict was today. Sentencing is not until November 16th, 9:30 am according to one of the articles upthread.

They wrote quickly, one of the articles I quoted upthread said that the jury consisted of four women and eight women.

JMO, a guilty verdict in a murder case can never be a moment of complete joy because someone is dead, murdered. But can't really blame anyone for having a little celebration because a toddler's murderer is off the streets... D'Andre Lane can pick fights with people who are more his size from now on.

Is it wrong that I hope he wet himself when the verdict was read and on the way back to the cell someone makes him take his wet underwear off so they can shove it in his mouth???

Not wrong.... It is justifiable consequences for his terrible deeds!:furious:

I am pretty relieved because the jury could have chosen to go with the 'lack' of forensics in this case. If they wanted to be lazy and negligent they could have ducked their responsibilities by saying the lack of a body and the lack of a witness and of a bloody crime scene, paved the way for a Not Guilty verdict. Thank Goodness these fine jurors actually thought the case through. NOBODY could be expected to believe that ridiculous carjacking story this monster tried to sell to the jury. That is all they needed, imo, to realize what a crock of chit that whole scenario was. And even though the poor 8 yr old child witness kind of pulled back on her prior testimony, it was obvious that her initial testimony, which was given that very day she lost her baby sister, was totally accurate and credible. I saw that too. I wish journalists would slow down and proof read!

I am relieved to hear this. The rest of his children now have a chance to grow up safe and without his abuse.

Is there any chance this a-hole would tell the world where sweet Bianca is?

  • #1,076
I am doubtful that he will ever tell where he dumped her poor little body. He will likely insist he's "innocent" right to the bitter end. Much like the Scott Petersons and Drew Petersons of the world. JMO.

IDK. Now that he has been convicted and is looking at LWOP he might make a deal. though, he may be convinced he'll win an appeal in which case he'll take the time and deny the crime.

Yes! Thank goodness there are still intelligent juries out there who can read a case even without a confession or remains. My faith in the justice system just grew a bit more upon hearing this fantastic news. I think the descriptions of DL demeanor when the verdict was read are right on par with the type of man he is: cowardly, immature and arrogant. I only hope this will allow Bianca's mama to finally be able to accept the truth. Dandre violently and callously killed her daughter in a fit of rage and it does Bianca's memory an injustice to continue to support him.

May this little child finally rest in peace.

I saw an interview on Local 7 at PM with the Grandmother of Bianca begging to know where her grand daughter is. It was very sad :(

Pretty sure they will appeal so I doubt he will give up his charade...

As soon as I can find a link with the brief grandmother interview I'll try and post it.

There is little joy for me. Bianca is dead and her mother totally supported this man. So did his "fiance" who had a role in intimidating her daughter to not tell the truth in court.

I am, however, pleased that this was a jury who saw through the missing memories and read the situation for what it was. LWOP for D'Andre is good news for the community.

Rest in peace now, Bianca.
